This is the first place that we were recommended to try when we came into town. In contrast to a majority of reviews, I found the food here to mediocre at best. We started our meal meal with the cheese curd appetizer. They tasted good when there was enough cheese inside to balance the amount of batter. Unfortunately, most of the bits that came out were small, thus largely batter. The cheese curds came with a portion of ranch dressing with the consistency of skim milk. As our main course, we shared an Ultimate combo with brisket, pulled pork, and st louis style ribs. For sides, we chose the corn fritters and bacon green beans. The ribs were overdone to the point of being mushy, the pulled pork was on par with applebee's, and the brisket (most disappointing of all) was extra rare and chewy. The corn fritters were very tasty, but the green beans seemed like they were from a can and seasoned with drippings (no actual bacon to be found). The most telling dish (imho) of how well a given restaurant understands BBQ is how they do their brisket, and this is where the one star rating comes from. If they were to be judged by the brisket I received at any BBQ competition, Wubba's would be laughed out of the competition. When chunks of lean brisket are just thrown on a grill momentarily, that is not BBQ. Not to mention the complete abscence of fatty brisket (the best part) anywhere on the menu. So I realize this is Oregon and not Texas, KC, or Memphis, but it should not be so hard to find good BBQ. I had the combo plate with baby back ribs and tri-tip. The sauce on the ribs was too sweet for my liking, and the ribs were not very tender at all. The truth-tip had a good flavor, but was also pretty tough. The plate came with fries and garlic bread, which were pretty good. Add a soda and we are over $20 with tip. The service was good and the atmosphere was decent. I am not a fan of Wubba's. We went in there on a week night, the place was not busy but we got the worst table, the food was nothing to get one's drawers in a twist over and it took the waitress about 20 minutes to fetch mayo. I had the brisket sandwich, served on a cold grocery store type hamburger bun. It did not come with fries, so my sandwich sat by itself in the middle of a dessert plate. My recommendation is to try Wubbas Express on Austin. It doesn't look like much and it isn't fancy, but you'll smell the 'que as you pull up. I understand that this Wubba's and the Express used to be connected, but the owners do not cross paths. My guess is because Express is waaaaaaaaaaaay better. read more

Traveling companions and I spent the earlier part of the day at Crater Lake and were trying to decide on where to eat. Wubba's won. First off, our server (who was heading off to her first job, having just graduated from college) was excellent. She was friendly and efficient and was on-the-spot with regard to recommendations. My friends and I enjoyed the deep-fried pickles; I ordered the Sticky Baby Back Ribs, which were quite tasty. The sides (mashed potatoes and cole slaw) I selected were equally delicious - the cole slaw not being overpowered by the mayo and the potatoes being homemade. I rarely rate restaurants 5 stars but Wubba's is one of those rare establishments that deserves a top rating. Why? Because Wubba's served up some of the best BBQ I've had in my life. Okay in full disclosure I've never been to Texas, or the Deep South so take my review with a grain of salt. There also was a 5 hour road trip to get to Klamath Falls, so there may be some novelty and desperation mixed in somewhere. My girlfriend and I were starving when we got here. We ordered the "Down Home Style" for 2, which came with 8 St. Louis style ribs, chopped beef, mac salad, pit-smoked beans, and fritters. Jesus that was huge. The menu says it serves 2-3 so we knew it'd be on the big side but really it's more like 3-4. Onto the food: the ribs were amazing. Moist and flavourful, and fell right off the bone! The chopped beef was also good, but not quite on the same level as the ribs. If the ribs take you to Cloud 9, the chopped beef was more like 7th Heaven. If you ever find yourself passing through Klamath Falls, do stop by at Wubba's. You'll be glad you did. read more

Ok so usually when I plan my trip the 1st thing I do is log into Yelp app to find the best restaurant to fill my appetite and naturally this one showed up on the top in Klamath falls location, there was no way I could have let it pass. So, after our visit from crater lake we checked into our motel got freshened up and headed straight to wubba's. As you enter on the right they have lounge and on the right you have dining we went for the dining and promptly got greeted by our server nicole. She was enthusiastic, knowledgable and nice so that kind of started us on the right track, Since we were just two people we went for getting the judges combo and sharing it along with those two extra appetizer for 2.99. It was a 15 min wait from then on and boom she brings in two huge plates filled with some amazing meat and appetizers. Really, believe me I literally started salivating from the look of it. I had St.Louis ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, grilled chicken , mashed potatoes, onion straws, seasoned fries and corn fritters in front of me. Now lets delicately slice through each one of them. St.Louis Ribs - They had a bit more bbq sauce on them but as many users have noted did not have that smoky flavor to it but yeah the meat did fell off the bone and the taste was good not great. To put it in different words, the taste wasn't authentic. Beef Brisket - These chunks were flavorful and juicy enough, the meat was tender and had that nice crust on the exterior which held on to the flavor more, they were cooked medium well and soft enough to chew. Grilled Chicken - Nothing special, they actually should have given chicken leg quarter but since they ran out of it they substituted the same with this grilled thing, somewhat this dish was a bit out of place like it does not belong to a bbq shack though it had a distinct flavor the chicken was a bit dry. Pulled pork - This is the star of the evening, perfectly cooked still holding on to the juices and each strand yelling me out to gorge them as quickly as possible. Mashed potatoes - Another highlight, they do make an actual mashed potato from scratch not the slimy crappy one we r so scared of, they actually taste really good with natural ingredients blending in to provide a nice distinct flavor. Onion straws - Thin onion strings dipped in battered blended with salt, pepper and deep fried, they do taste amazing. Seasoned fries - The same that we all have eaten anywhere we go. Corn fritters - Taste it to know it, a must get over here. Overall, the food works well as a combo but individually they do range from 2 to 5 stars. Definitely, not the authentic BBQ shacks but more of an imitation crab in sushis. One star extra for the service. read more

Wubba's was good, not great, BBQ. I was kind of surprised at it's lack of greatness due to the raving reviews on Yelp. We were in Klamath Falls for the night and chose Wubba's due to it's Yelp rating. I got the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. There were luke-warm and a bit overcooked. Decent flavor, but not enough to overcome those obvious flaws. I had a sides of baked beans (ok) and seasoned fries (very, very seasoned, but tasty). My wife had the pulled pork/brisket sandwich and liked it a lot, much more than I liked mine. Only one bbq sauce available; I like places with a wider variety. We were there early on a Saturday evening, it was crowded but only a minute or two wait for them to clear off a table. Service was slow, but the kitchen was not. We were here a few weeks ago. The staff did not know what they were doing. We waited over 2 hours for our food (and we had kids with us). The food wasn't very good. The green beans were out of a can, had no taste and were a weird gray green color. The corn fritters were greasy. The ribs were ok but nothing special. We were just passing through Klamath Falls in May 2010 when we decided to look for a nice place to eat. Other Yelp opinions steered us to this place. We have no regrets. Seating was comfortable and music was not loud or overwhelming. Our hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the portions were huge (in line with other establishments of the kind - perhaps a bit more generous). We stopped here today for lunch while on a road trip. The food was fantastic! My husband, who's southern boy and therefore a BBQ aficionado love ed the BBQ burrito he got. He said that it's the best BBQ he's had since living in the Pacific Northwest! I had a combo plate with pulled pork and sausage with baked potato salad all of which was fabulous. The service is slow, we had to wait quite a while but I felt that the excellence of food made it worth it. The food was great. Ribs fallin off the bones. You get a lot of it too. Good beer selection WITH an option for 20oz beers! The option for sides... I wanted to like this place. BBQ tends to be expensive so I expect it to be really good. Wubba's is strictly average. Have had the ribs before and they are okay if they haven't let them dry out. The coleslaw is good. Sweet potato fries are passable I guess, but not worth $2 more. I suspect they are frozen and they don't crisp up well. We got the combo with 3 meats. We got 1 of St. Louis ribs and 2 quarter chickens They gave us 2 ribs. That's two. What passed for quarters of chicken were dried out chicken breasts. I gave most of mine to our dog. We've had the six-piece fried chicken wings. $9, are you serious? They break six large wings in half. You get three wings, not 6. $3 for each wing, and they are nothing special at all. The potato skins starter with pulled pork was acceptable. I'm looking for better BBQ in Klamath Falls. Wish me luck. read more
