Cute small store with good food and even better service. What a wonderful drive as well if you are out there. Tell Mary I said "It'll Fly"

From the VDACS on July, 15, 2020 (regarding food safety) -…read more"The Trading Post is out of compliance in many areas, and we have a follow-up inspection scheduled; they are in our "compliance process." I got diarrhea from just reading the 3-page report. All kinds of health violations with most of them being repeat violations. I have never seen a report worse than this one. Spooky Action ________ To: The Virginia Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (VDACS) Date-Time: July 11, 2020, 7:00PM EDT I just noticed a Yelp review re: The Trading Post. It's from 12/18/2017 but it is the sort of thing I would expect when dealing with a gas station sandwich shop. The problem is magnified by the fact that The Trading Post is a hub for area tradesmen, many of whom do not wear masks to protect themselves from Covid-19. So it's an easy path from customer, to their breathed-upon money, to the cashier, to that cashier also spewing his/her no-mask oral spray and Covid-19 fingers onto sandwiches, to the customer's stomach, to the emergency room and, finally, to the graveyard. All because some poorly trained individual couldn't be bothered or doesn't take this matter seriously. I have to agree with the reviewer that it is absolutely deplorable if the people at The Trading Posts are not, at least currently, taking this matter seriously. Questions: * Has any VDACS staff addressed this issue with The Trading Post? * Is VDACS requiring food handlers to wear masks and gloves? * If so, are there fines for noncompliance? * Does VDACS have any view about the The Trading Post's current health awareness? * What do I do if I witness open-food handling w/o masks or gloves? Note: I will reevaluate this review after receiving a response from VDACS.

I'm gonna have the best food around or else I won't offer it" - what I'd imagine the owner of Trading Post said to himself when he opened up shop. There are two types of people that open up restaurants: one does so in order to make money. The other to share their joy of good food with their community. The Trading Post falls under the latter

If you have ever been to Buc ee's when it is packed, you know how crazy it can get, so coming this early was perfect. There was plenty of parking, we were able to walk around without fighting through crowds, and checking out was quick and easy. This time we really just stopped in to grab some souvenirs. Buc ee's is always a fun place to shop because there is so much more than just gas station stuff. They have shirts, hats, cups, snacks, gifts, Buc ee's merchandise, and all kinds of random things you did not know you needed until you saw them. We took our time looking around and picked up a few things to remember the trip. The store was very clean and organized, especially considering how huge the place is. The bathrooms were clean as expected, and the employees we came across were friendly and kept everything moving. I also like how much room this location has outside. There are plenty of gas pumps and a huge parking area, which makes stopping here much easier when traveling. Even if you are not getting gas or food, it is a good place to get out, stretch your legs, use the restroom, and look around for a little while. We did not get food this time since our main reason for stopping was souvenirs, but there were still plenty of food and snack options available. Definitely a 5 out of 5 experience. If you want to enjoy Buc ee's without the normal crowds, around 9 in the morning seems like a great time to stop. We were able to get what we wanted, look around, and get back on the road without any hassle.
