Service was great. After hitting a hike in Shenandoah National park we stopped by for a sandwich. Ingredients were super fresh, awesome portion, and way more affordable than the typical chain sandwich shops. We also got some homemade pie and snack mix. Both are so delicious! They were my go to for breakfast sandwiches and homemade donuts (OMG, do yourself a favor and go!). I have expanded me experiences to both lunch and dinner. Granted, I ordered the same sandwich for both, but that is because it was so good. Off the bone ham, munster, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo on a toasted sour dough bread. So good! I couldn't go in and just get a sandwich... I also picked up Macaroni salad, a diet birch beer, and a hot fresh pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving... Ok I'm going to be honest, I got a pumpkin roll for pre-thanksgiving (it's a thing). Made it home to devour everything except the pumpkins. We live pretty close to Dutch Pantry and are so glad we do. They have a little bit of everything, from deli meat to cheeses to bulk goods to homemade doughnuts on Fridays and Saturdays. They have a dipping station and sell ice cream by the scoop. At the deli, they make sandwiches to order. My favorite is the BLT with cheddar and mayo on toasted sourdough. Big selection of jams, jellies, fruit butters, and relishes. If trying to get a doughnut on the weekend, get there early because they do sell out. read more

I patroned this place twice a week for over a year because I had a client that loved their deli meat. In that time I didn't buy much for myself. The prices are extremely high and product seemed to sit on the shelves forever. People mostly come in here for the deli sandwiches which are large and reasonably priced. I myself have had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was good. The one time I've made the mistake of purchasing Amish Roll butter, it tasted disgusting. It had absorbed the odors of the fridge it was kept in. Customer service is non existent here. They don't greet you or acknowledge you. If a line begins to develop at the deli ( which is often 6 people deep) they let you fight it out, ignoring each new customer, not a single smile or word of greeting to anyone. Then, if you manage to get your sandwich, you'll be standing around helplessly waiting for about 5 minutes hoping one of them will break away to man the register. A real shit show. If you manage get in there before the rush and you're an extrovert, you'll discover they're nice people. They just don't realize that you can easily go to Walmart and don't feel obligated to ask your name or remember you. They don't have basic customer service skills. The worst offense though is that they're operating a glass bottled milk scam, CHARGING $17.00 PER GALLON. Here's how it works: they charge $6.49 for a half gallon of Trickling Springs Organic milk in a glass bottle. Beware! Unlike other stores that sell their milk, this does not include the $2.00 bottle deposit. No, they tack on ANOTHER $2.00 at the register when you pay. Now, if you're thinking that you'll get $2.00 back you're right. You'll only be paying $6.49 ($13.00 per gallon). Whereas at every other store that sells this milk, you're getting it for $4.49 a gallon after returning your deposit bottle. So essentially, they're stealing your deposit money. When I called them out on this outrageous BS April told me that if they didn't charge that they wouldn't be making any money on the milk. So apparently they need to make the price between $13.00 and $17.00 per gallon to "make a profit." Total BS! I stopped going there due to this matter. It's sad when a small local business chooses to rip off its customers because they think we're idiots. I'll continue to buy my Trickling Springs elsewhere for $4.00/ per gallon less. read more
