I was looking for a unique home office installation that could function as a workspace while also housing my library of music, photo albums, and books. I also had some specific wish list items such as a "hiding" bourbon nook. While the functionality of the piece was crucial, I would dare to say the aesthetic was even more important to me. My hope was that the space would be so inviting and inspiring that even after I'd hang up ye ole' work hat, that I'd still want to linger in the room to unwind with a good book, some good tunes (and maybe a tumbler of good bourbon too...). I've dropped in some photos of the finished product as well as my original crappy doodle of what I was looking for and will try to upload a few photos once I get everything settled. Graham and his small but mighty team were amazing to work with from start to finish. Graham was highly collaborative and offered phenomenal suggestions. My favorite was his suggestion to situate the bookshelves above the desk at an angle. This provided more of an ample workspace and also added to the artistic flare of the piece. I plan on hanging up a canvas print in between the bookshelves, so the orientation of the shelves will also guide the eye to the print. Because Willson Woodworking is pretty much a one person show, it took a few months from when I gave the green light to when the finished product was installed. However, Graham and team were upfront from the beginning about how many projects were queued up prior to mine. It is beyond worth it to have a one-of-a-kind piece that is of the highest quality rather than something that is mass produced and can be found in every other home. One other note on value: I did reach out to two other contractors about the project before deciding on Willson Woodworking. One was a local handyman, and one was a closet solutions company. All three quotes came in at roughly the same price. I think this speaks volumes about just how reasonable Willson Woodworking was in terms of pricing. This was definitely an investment regardless of which contractor I chose, but there was no comparison between the three in terms of the finished product. Shout out to Kevin, who professionally painted the shelves (regent blue). Like Graham, Kevin was kind enough to stop by my house and talk through thoughts on color choices. Plus, he helped Graham install the finished product! Another shout out to Raychel, who coordinated the administrative components of the project. Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review on other platforms as I want to be sure to champion this local vendor!

The work and craftsmanship speak for themselves, and that's the obvious reason to hire them, but I'll talk about two of the unspoken heroes that make Best the undoubted #1 choice as you evaluate contractors for your job. 1. Communication - Steve (owner) communicates with you every step of the way. He's always accessible, always providing updates, and is very honest in his assessment of what's doable, feasible, and reasonable. He manages your expectations while helping steward the project to success in a way that's genuine, authentic, and truly in the homeowner's best interest. He'll work with you on designing the project, scope of work, pricing, and he'll be with you every step of the way on materials, external vendors if needed, and making recommendations to make your life easier. 2. Rebecca. She's the admin expert @ the office who handles the paperwork side. She's the secret weapon as with most contractors, half the battle is just tracking them down for updates and insights. Rebecca is everything you'd hope for as a customer - where Steve is the renovation expert free to create and ideate - Rebecca is the go-to-lead for paperwork, timeline, arrival, crew insights and more. TOGETHER: Rebecca & Steve are the perfect pair for a customer to enjoy the process of working with a contractor and being excited to have a renovation done. Steve's crew is also excellent - his sons I believe - very detail-oriented, very clean and neat, courteous and professional. Had no hesitations about them being in my home (among my wife and 2 daughters). A+ isn't a grade high enough...simply put, "the best." I'm very glad my plumber recommended them for our bathroom renovation, we got lucky!

They followed through with what they said they'd do, were timely, reasonable costs and great work! Both bathrooms look gorgeous. Steve is a knowledgeable, helpful and friendly contractor. They know tiling for sure. We were able to buy material from wherever we wanted but if we needed recommendations they would always have them. We really have no complaints at all, we'd absolutely use them again.

Mr. Abate was very prompt in getting back to me for an estimate. I took off the day from work to let him see what needs to be done and he arrived on time. After the initial visit, I thought I would get an estimate in a few days, a week at the latest. However, I got no estimate. After a week, I emailed Mr. Abate after the holiday, thinking that it's a busy time for families and to take that into consideration. He replied, stating that he would get the estimate to me the following day. I told him to take his time, thinking that another week would be the maximum time that I would have to wait. Unfortunately, it's been about a month, and I still haven't received an estimate. I didn't bother reminding him again because I can take a hint. That's fine, if you don't want to do a job, just let the potential client know, so we can find someone else. I wanted to get the paint job done before some medical considerations and even getting to this point was a big deal for me due to some health issues, but I will have to delay a new paint job for a few months now because of the delay in getting the estimate back.

Robert was on the spot within 1 hour, emptying the water our of our home. Our basement was outdated, so we decided to remove the carpet and use the opportunity to update the space. In the process, we determined our insurance would cover the furnace and water heater, which were mildly affected by the water. Robert had a new water heater and furnace installed for us within two days of the flood. The basement was dried out with dehumidifiers and fans and emptied of debris by the time the new furnace and water heater were installed. Within two weeks, we had a new basement, complete with new flooring, and fresh paint. Not bad considering we were looking at 1.5" of water in our basement not too long earlier. Summary: we had our furnace, water heater, sump pump replaced, and a backup sump pump system installed. Our basement has new flooring, trim, cabinets, and paint. All within two weeks. Thank you, Robert and crew!
