He does charge more than a few other quotes I received, but his rates reflect the quality of his work. He is very responsive and laid down all of the stain options I was looking at in 4 different rooms throughout my house so I could really see how the color looked in different lighting conditions. He was also able to seamlessly fill in all of the cracks in our floors making them look brand new and did the entire house in less than a week! Make sure you do your research on whether or not you want Synteko for your finish - we ended up going with a water-based finish since we have a dog and little babies crawling on our floors and didn't want to risk the toxins, but I would definitely trust Johnny with the finish if you're interested in it. Finally, about a month after moving in, one of our stair treads broke off and Johnny was able to come and replace it in a matter of days - he asked for the measurements ahead of time, so when he showed up at 8am, he already had the tread pre-cut and was done with everything within the hour. They didn't use furniture pads that I bought for them to put under the couch and other furniture. I thought they used them and when I tried to move my couch, it scratched the floor. When I called them, they said it wasn't their responsibility to use the furniture pads or to get the streaks out so it looks like a new floor. They were very rude. I ended up hiring a new company for $3500 to get my floors looking the way they should've the first time. I would never use them again. They said there's nothing more they could do and it wasn't their responsibility to put on the furniture pads. I talked to the president of the company and he was very rude. A few years ago we had Mr. Floor come to our condo to fix a previous contractors sins. It ended up…read morebeing a re-Gut of a master and guest bathrooms in the west loop. High end finishes which included heated floors, heated towel bars, hanging Toto bidet toilets, and all kohler fixtures. My wife and I supplied the fixtures since we'd already paid for them with the previous contractor. We never questioned the costs quoted because we were desperate since we had to live in our space during construction. Mr Floor was recommended from a close friend. We knew the prices were on the high side, but wanted reliable quality work so we went for it. $80-$90,000 later we were done. This included some other minor items but the bulk of the work was the bathrooms. The work was good, but the tile cutting was sub standard and rough. We were told it was the type of tile we chose. We disagreed and found out later a sharp blade and type of saw minimizes rough cuts. Makes sense! At the price point we were at, the tile should have been perfect. The base was poor as well. We felt the project manager should have had a solution that was suitable for the high end project. Instead, he made due with cutting time and it didn't look good! We felt he should have found a better solution that looked professional and not pieced together. Fast forward to today. We contact the company to install hardwoods in our bedrooms. We communicated with the company owner that we would like to use Mr floor but we will wait until we leave for our Florida home to have the work done. In the meantime, we would appreciate if Mr Floor would assist with a small job of installing new cabinet hardware in our kitchen. Well, apparently loyalty isn't Mr Floors MO because they were unable to assist unless we had floors installed simultaneously. We were quoted $900 which seems fair, but we were confused why the company could not install the hardware now rather than wait for the floor project. As you might imagine we were shocked and disappointed. We will not use Mr Floor again. For us loyalty is important i. Building a strong relationship. SAD!
