They are a family operated facility and staff and administrators and nurses are also very knowledgeable and helpful with any issues you may have. It is the cleanest facility I have been to. Meals are excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to have a parent come and take a tour. They take several forms of payment including Social Security. They have med technicians that distribute your medications so you don't need to remember to take them. There have 24 rooms with 2 to a room usually. I am happy that they found me in a rehab facility after an extended hospital stay and they interviewed me and took me in.

It's clean, the staff is caring and the food is decent. I would put my mom here if she was still alive. The only drawback is it's not on a bus route but we have our own 14 passenger bus and we go out often to shop and have other trips. Logisticare is on site and they provide free transportation to doctor's appointments. It's a nice place to live.

My wife has been a resident at The Lighthouse at Lincoln for a year now. She has received exceptional care and is very comfortable at the facility. The staff is so caring and attentive to all her needs. There is nothing harder than having to place your loved one in a memory care facility. In my case I held out for as long as I physically could before placing her in a memory facility. The first day you leave your loved one is very hard. You are never sure you have made the right decision. The staff at The Lighthouse at Lincoln made me feel very comfortable leaving my wife. They communicated with me that day as to how she was doing and for the next few days before I went back to visit her. The staff communicates on how my wife is doing with every visit. They are also concerned as to how I am doing. The most important part of leaving your loved one at a memory facility is how you as the caregiver feel. After a visit I feel very relieved knowing my wife is safe and well taken care of at The Lighthouse at Lincoln. Gary H

When you submit your application, they proceed to do a deep dive into your entire financial history. You had better be rich (or close to it) because they want verification you have the means to cover the cost of caring for your loved one for a minimum of 3 years! We finally found an assisted living place for our Mom. The admissions person was wonderful and…read moreexplained the levels of care and gave us a tour of several rooms. The great thing is if Mom needs more or less care, she does not have to move! The staff just conforms to her needs, so her room is her room. She has resided at Smithfield Woods for over a year, and we are very happy with the care she is receiving. The place is more than clean- it looks like a hotel or condo and has modern rooms with spacious bathrooms/walk in showers, kitchenettes, A/C, beautiful windows/views, several dining rooms and common areas/reading areas, activities daily, and a full dining room for 3 meals a day. For an extra fee, they have a med tech who will give our Mom her meds (she has too many to keep track of herself). They always have one or more RN's on staff, a maintenance person if you need help putting up a picture, and activity staff who check on the residents frequently during the day to encourage socialization. They have cleaning service who keep our Mom's room neat and clutter-free since she uses a walker/wheelchair. The office is always open during the day if you have a question. Now I am particular about floors/smells, and being a nurse myself, I appreciate the cleanliness and fresh-smelling air of the hallway and common areas. The aides are so friendly and let me say- we all know how understaffed this whole state is when it comes to nursing facilities! The aides go above and beyond for their residents here. Our Mom is safe here and that is the most important! I tell many friends and family about Smithfield Woods for their elderly loved ones. Hopefully many more people will go take a tour and see how nice it is here!

From the moment she moved in, she was surrounded by warmth, friendship, and opportunity. The grounds are absolutely beautiful -- especially the peaceful wooded area in the back, where she enjoyed walking and spending quiet time in nature. Inside, the gathering spaces are inviting and thoughtfully designed, making it easy for residents to connect, relax, and feel at home. One of the things she appreciated most was how intellectually and socially engaging life at Laurelmead is. She looked forward to the regular educational talks, musical performances, movie nights, and the many activities that kept each week interesting and fulfilling. There was always something to enjoy, but never any pressure -- just a wonderful sense of community. The dining experience was another highlight. The dining room is lovely, and she genuinely enjoyed the wide variety of menu choices and the quality of the meals. Dining became a social event she looked forward to every day. Most importantly, she made deep and lasting friendships there. Laurelmead gave her not just a place to live, but a vibrant community where she felt connected, stimulated, and happy.
