Since she is the first person one usually sees when they enter your lovely facility or speak to on the telephone, she has a great responsibility to portray Victoria Court in the best light. She does an extremely exemplary job in her role. From my first introduction to her, I was impressed by her demeanor, which was so kind, genuine, and patient. I immediately felt reassured that our mother was in good hands. I am beyond touched by her ability to embrace and welcome everyone who approaches her, including the residents, as well as, visitors and staff. She is truly a beautiful and pure soul! I hope and pray that Anna will always be a constant at Victoria Court. I also want to commend the entire staff for the excellent care our mother receives each and every day. Victoria Court doesn't have a locked unit or a hallway of memory care seperated from the assisted living side. The whole building is memory care and they have that freedom in thier home. They're always doing something to keep they're residents engaged. There's always activities, outings, and people coming to perform. They even have someone bring baby goats. But the most important thing is people are happy here and they feel safe.

I visited several Independent Living homes and the Village was by far the best. It's set on top of a hill overlooking Waterman lake which is breathtaking from spring through fall. The facility is immaculate and the staff goes out of their way to make sure the residents have the resources they need. One of the first things I noticed when my parents moved in was how friendly and welcoming the other residents are. You can tell people enjoy being there, and my parents did too for their short time there. Their health deteriorated faster than any of us expected and they both needed to be moved quickly into the nursing home. If you meet Moriah, the general manager, (or house mom as my parents called her), she is always dressed to the nines with flawless make-up and four inch heels. When my dad needed to be moved to the nursing home, I noticed she had swapped out her skirt and heels for jeans and sneakers. She and two of the facility nurses pushed my dad down to the nursing home in a rolling recliner to make sure he could be moved comfortably and safely. She did the same for my mom when it was her turn. Moriah set-up the move in days and pushed my mom's wheelchair, this time in her heels, to her new room. If my parents had still been in North Carolina when their health crashed, or in a less accommodating facility, I don't know what I would have done. Every staff member in that place from the top to the bottom did what they needed to do to take care of my parents, and that is an invaluable service when you are dealing with aging loved ones.

They are a family operated facility and staff and administrators and nurses are also very knowledgeable and helpful with any issues you may have. It is the cleanest facility I have been to. Meals are excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to have a parent come and take a tour. They take several forms of payment including Social Security. They have med technicians that distribute your medications so you don't need to remember to take them. There have 24 rooms with 2 to a room usually. I am happy that they found me in a rehab facility after an extended hospital stay and they interviewed me and took me in.

It's clean, the staff is caring and the food is decent. I would put my mom here if she was still alive. The only drawback is it's not on a bus route but we have our own 14 passenger bus and we go out often to shop and have other trips. Logisticare is on site and they provide free transportation to doctor's appointments. It's a nice place to live.

He really enjoyed being there and he also looked good whenever we visited him. We were happy that he was there. I believe that it is more of a nursing home than an assisted living facility as everyone seems to get a one to two or three ratio resident vs nurse. They took good care of him and when it came close to his end of life the family was summoned and they brought him to a private room as we surrounded his bed and said our goodbyes. We were all there to see him take his last breath. The staff took care of everything.

Others were not -- particularly one therapy assistant who hardly responded to my asking her to lower her voice and focus on therapy rather than her own histrionics. Additionally, the therapy room was devoid of much standard equipment The bathroom that was next to my bed was generally filthy with spilled urine that was not cleaned. I advise anyone who needs PT or OT treatment in a skilled care facility to seek other accommodations.
