We got two pies, the Italian beef and the dill pickle. I love the creative toppings. This is tavern style pizza. That means it's baked twice. Once for the dough, once for the toppings. That can lead to a dryer crust which is pretty typical for the style. It's crispy and the topping ratio really matters. This place hit. The dough was super crispy and the toppings mad up about 2/3rds of the bite. The Italian beef was really good, the pickle was alright. The sauce seemed broken and mealy. Multiple servers and bussers walked past our table several times, yet no one acknowledged us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. It honestly felt like our table had been forgotten. Because we were never able to place an order, I can't comment on the food or drinks. We ended up leaving before anyone came to our table. The wait time itself wasn't the issue. We were seated immediately. The problem was waiting 15 to 20 minutes after being seated without receiving any service, especially at a nearly empty restaurant. As for value, it's hard to judge since we never had the opportunity to order anything. However, spending nearly 20 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us made the experience feel like a waste of time. It's unfortunate because the atmosphere and location were great, but the lack of service completely overshadowed the rest of the experience. I hope this was just an off night, but based on this visit, I can't recommend it.
