We had only been here once before and it was fine. We stopped in to bide time until the Cornelia Arts Building gallery openings. They have great specials and art for sale! I sat at the bar and ordered a Cream Ale for $3, and checked out the baseball playoffs. The minimum for credit cards is $10, so we added wine and hot pretzels. A local struck up a conversation about old times, in a non-weird/flirty way, and bought us a drink! The lady bartender didn't seem bothered by it so we were ok with it too. Some tvs had old 80s movies on, and there was music and a pool table. The crowd was small, which was fine. The owner came in at some point, and we met him! We didn't take pictures though, which I am kind of regretting. He is not from Ireland but the name and some of the decorations are a nice tribute.

My home away from home. This is the pub I go back to time and time again because of the people. All of the staff are super friendly and kind, and even if I stop for 1 drink, I always stay for more because I get lost in conversation. You can play pool, request to change the channel to a specific game, and they also have snacks if you get hungry.

Nice little neighborhood bar with an entire bookshelf of games that bar patrons can play. While here recently, we enjoyed Connect Four and attempted to play Boggle (no instructions left in Boggle so we gave up almost immediately - Connect Four was easier for us to comprehend at that point of the evening). There's a few tables up front and then a long, narrow hall where the bar is, and the back opens up to another area where some pool tables are. Nice spot when you're looking for a few casual drinks in the hood.

Love this bar and it will love you.

Great for beers and catchups with friends. Friendly staff, cool ambiance with art all over the walls that's for purchase. Solid dive.

Fantastic bar. Pool table if you're into that, weird art on the walls, nice price for PBR.

Don't judge a world class book by it's under L cover. Great beer list, all the bar games. Leaves no wanting.

However I think the holiday spirit got to him a couple of weeks ago because he took me to Consignment which is one of he and his wife's faves. The name is as it says - the bar doubles as a secondhand store and whatever is on display is for sale. I adored it! The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. Because we are old, we got there by 730 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was already packed! Patience won the day though and within 45 minutes we snagged some stools against the wall. I had a great time here and hope to return!

There's a bar and some seating options in the front room. The back room looks like your elder relatives' basement with random stuff on display like clothing, buttons, books about weather vanes, and even some baseball cards. They have a back patio too, and there was a food popup going on during our visit though we did not try anything. We each enjoyed Maplewood Son of Juice brews in these vintage-y glasses, and also some cups of water. We wonder how well the secondhand merchandise moves, and hey you just might want to buy that ceramic camel on display after downing a few adult beverages.

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."
