Here's the story behind my review:…read more The clutch on my husband's Honda Civic went out about 10 miles from the Mineral King Ranger Station, about 2 hours from Visalia. He was able to get to the trailhead and start his 3-night,4-day backpacking trip. Since he didn't have cell service, he messaged me via Garmin asking if I could find a mobile mechanic or a tow in the meantime. And thus began my odyssey. If the car couldn't be repaired on the spot, I'd have to get a tow anyway, so I got in touch with AAA. Set up the tow for a Friday. Then they called me to cancel because they said the last 14 miles of the road were unpaved. And they don't do that. Well, only the last 2 miles of the road were unpaved, but I was out of luck. Called a towing company in Visalia; it was a one-man shop and he didn't want to deal with the drive. Called West Coast Tow, and they were awesome. The woman on dispatch was courteous and efficient. Tow truck driver called me from the road to verify the details. And he showed up on time and got the car back to a mechanic's. Towing cost $850, but I was quoted about $200 an hour, so it was no surprise. Anyway, super pleased with how professional West Coast Tow was.

Declared a total by my insurance, I was offered $550 for it from a wrecking yard. It was worth far more to me having purchased it new, kept the service up and it having low miles. After getting a salvage title, I looked for repair quotes and received a call from Martin. He quoted the best repair price and picked it up. He sourced the best price on used parts and kept the costs low as possible. After a few weeks my Honda was certified and good as new (bonus- they are just around the corner from the DMV!). The sun can be blaring bright when driving westbound on Hwy 198. Alex and his team were quick. I went down the street to have breakfast at a nearby diner. My car was ready within two hours. I last was here in 2019, it's now 2024 so prices did go up like everything else did after COVID. I'm glad this business survived COVID. They provided excellent customer service and did a quality job. Add this to your bookmark if you're looking for a ceramic tint for your car. I highly recommend it especially getting it done right after you purchased your new car.
