Am I able to swear? I'm about to, here it goes... HOLY MOLY!! I've always thought that tacos in Washington were mediocre at best, especially when you compare it to states down south (you know where I'm talking about). Sure there are great taco places for the Puget Sound area, but Xantolo Taqueria? You just earned the spot for best tacos in Washington in my eyes, and mouth. I came during Taco Tuesday, and they INDEED do have a special promotion. I ordered two of their carnitas tacos which each came out to about $2 each, and two of their asada tacos came out $3.25 (unfortunately not part of Taco Tuesday). Honestly though? These tacos were SO GOOD that I would just pay the original price to support them. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender meat, with a bit of a nice crisp for the carnitas. The garnishing was just right, with dice red onions and cilantro laying over the tacos, and a side of lime, pepper, and radish. Now the tortillas? They have mastered the texture. For me, if the taco's tortilla isn't good it ruins the whole taco. But Xantolo knows how to get things done right. With a nice crisp to the bottom of the taco while still remaining soft to bite into, it was a whole masterpiece! I might be over-glazing this taco truck, but I'm serious about how good this is. read more

I almost didn't stop because I didn't see the truck until I'd almost passed, so I actually had to make a U turn for a late lunch. I'm so glad I did. I had a carnitas tacos, a birria taco, a pork tamale, and horchata. Everything was so tasty and fresh. The carnitas was soft and flavorful. I really enjoyed the flavors in the birria. I almost didn't stop I was driving by and I was hungry and I saw it and I was thinking maybe I'll stop but then I didn't. I had to go down and hit the block and come back. Something told me this was gonna be a delicious meal... I got the Carne Asada & chile relleno plate. My wife got a few chicken tacos. My combo plate came with several pieces of thinly sliced steak. The meat was good quality and cooked well. I could taste the Marination and feel that the spice profile was very good as well as the duration of Marination. It was served with a choice of tortillas, I went with flour. I have a suspicion that they might make these flour tortillas in the house because they were very delicious and fresh, but I'll have to ask next time I'm there. There was some grilled onion, sliced and served on top of the steak. The chili relleno was covered in a flavorful red enchilada style sauce with some crema and some cotija cheese on top. It was made with a pablano pepper (not spicy at all) filled with cheese, batteries in a delicious batter and fried to perfection. This is the granddaddy of the jalepeno popper and thought the popper everything it knows. I grew up eating these at a little place near the Delmar racetrack in California and this one is the closest I've had to that flavor in Washington. Very tasty. The combo also came with rice and beans. Their rice is more flavorful than most other Mexican rice I've had in the area. The beans also had a delicious flavor and were very smooth and rich and creamy. It also came with a side of guacamole and pico de gallo . Their guacamole was perfection and pico was great as well, with crunchy onions, cilantro, and tomatoes, perfectly melded together. We also received a side of green and red salsas. Green was mild to medium with the tomatillo flavor, and the red was hot. My wife enjoyed her tacos as well. They came on double stacked corn tortillas and garnished with onion and cilantro. She said the tacos were very good and did not let me try them. her tacos had limes, radishes, onions, and a jalapeño on the side. In summary, the food here is very good and very fresh. I do recommend that you go by and check it out. 10 out of 10. read more

A delicious veggie burrito experience with lots of sauce varieties to choose from! It was a bit pricy but I'd definitely be back again for more. They give you a delicious fried potato with onion and jalapeno on the side which was an unexpected treat. My partner got the carne asada and he loved it. Just a note, the burrito is huge so unless you're super-hungry it may last you for another meal! read more

After I saw a review of this place as the best Mexican food in WA, I had to see for myself. Short story is: it's delicious! I'd say it's definitely the best Mexican food we've had in Tacoma. The Chile Relleno was amazing! And the Chilaquiles was fantastic! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend this food truck. read more

This is located in university place in Tacoma, honestly I'm very happy I found them, this is a gem my husband order the asada huarache and I tried it it was amazing my son order 2 tacos and he ate both of them I ordered the carnitas burrito I have never tried such a delicious burrito, I had to take one to go for lunch tomorrow since is so far from where I live, I really recommend this place give it a try you won't regret it. I ordered three tacos on taco Tuesday at $1.99 each. I went with one of each meat: chicken, pork and beef. All well seasoned. Wrapped in double corn tortilla, topped with onion and cilantro. Everything tasted very fresh. It was still very warm after the 10 min drive home. My son ordered the birria tacos that came with with beans and rice. Around $16. He loved it. We'll definitely be back. We ate everything before thinking about photos for this review. Next time! read more

Just discovered this place and I am HOOKED on their breakfast burritos! Great Mexican food from an immaculately clean kitchen. The guys are super nice and always go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Easy to find on the corner of 56th & Orchard St in the Union 76 parking lot. Stopped by there today, too shy to go to food trucks if it's not at a festival, but decided to get over it to support a new local business. Got a carnitas plate which is usually my go to at a new place. I'd missed lunch so I had two tortillas worth of goodness for dinner, and there's enough carnitas and leftovers for for a filling burrito tomorrow. Friendly service, and the guacamole was fresh, the flour tortillas were hot & soft and the carnitas were really good. I only asked for green salsa and it definitely added even more flavor to the meal. Wide price range and an extensive menu posted on FB to browse (I believe they said you could order online which I will probably test out next time). I recommend checking them out. read more

The food is one of the best places that I have eaten at in a long time. All of his chips and tortillas are home made the burrito wrap all of it. I had wanted to eat there for a while and now I am mad that the days I changed my mind and when somewhere else was THE WRONG CHOICE.
