I had a really good experience at Indita Mia in Tacoma! The mole was actually really good, and the vibes inside were great, cute, welcoming, and a fun atmosphere. The service was also excellent! My grandma accidentally ordered something that ended up being way too spicy for her, but our server was so kind about it. They brought her out something new and didn't even charge us for the replacement, which I really appreciated. That kind of service goes a long way! The salsa was yummy too. Indita Mia seems more charming than it actually is. I'm not usually one to pick apart a business let alone a local business... The restaurant itself is beautiful but I feel that the amount of money it costs to eat there should be reflected, if not in the food itself then at least the service, and both were lacking. This is a place I've been heard about a lot on TikTok, I don't know if it is honest reviews, or if it's paid promotion, but the pictures and videos that are used online are doing the food more than justice. Upon walking in at exactly 6:03 PM, I have Life360 to reference arrival and departure, we get to the front door and it's pretty slow with maybe a few people in the bar, with what looks like a full staff; we finally get greeted at 6:14 PM and get seated outside. I'm thinking maybe they got done with a rush and are getting ready for the next dinner rush, so that's why it took long to greet us. I'm assuming the best here and extending grace where it may be needed, as I also worked in the restaurant business and know how busy it can get. As we get seated, again, it takes a while for someone to bring us water but me and my friend aren't noticing quite yet how long everything is taking. We finally get our waitress and she brings us water and asks if we want any drinks. My friend orders her drink and I stay with my water and we get asked what we want, we're not sure yet so we ask her to come back. As time goes on, it's about 30 minutes so at this point with us waiting for someone to bring my friend her drink and finally being seated at 6:14 PM, that brings us to 6:45 PM and my friend is just now receiving her drink and we're being ask what we want to order. I ask her to see if the mole is nut based as it's a food allergy for me and I know most places will use nuts as a base and some don't. It's now 7:03 PM and I check my phone to see how long it's been since I asked about the sauce. She and other staff walks past us SEVERAL times before stopping to see if we were ready or needed anything. It's now 7:17 PM... I figure it's now clear that I'm time stamping and checking my phone for the time. We finally get our waitress to our table and she asks us if we're ready to order, and we obviously have quite a few things in mind since we were sat down 6:14 PM. My friend orders her appetizer and her entree, the waitress turns to me and asks if I'm ready, so I ask, "Were you able to find out if the mole is nut based?" She tells me she forgot to ask and runs back to the kitchen. She comes back about 5-10 minutes later and tells me it is so I go straight to my Plan B as I am plenty prepared for first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on backups for my order. We wait about another 20 minutes, so let's say it's 7:43 PM, and we get our appetizers. The food is so salty, but at this point, we're both so hungry, we eat without complaint. Another 30 ish minutes go by and we get our entrees. Within the time we got our first dish and now (8:13 PM) no one has checked on us to even see if the food was good. The food did NOT look anything like the food content that's shown in pictures and videos. We're both just eating because it's 8:13 PM and we got to the restaurant at 6:04 PM; we're hungry. We HAVE to call someone over for some boxes and the check at this point because the sun is now pretty much gone and luckily that was quick, but it took us a while to grab someone as the entirety of the staff continued to walk by us several times, as we obviously aren't eating, talking to each other, and look like we're trying to flag someone over. It's quite obvious actually. We've been very polite this whole time, we both worked in the restaurant business, so we know it can be stressful especially for women. By this point of getting our check and I'm paying, it's already 8:20 PM. We didn't take long to eat and also are appetite has kind of passed with the time as well. I pay and my friend thankfully asks about the desert I ordered back when we initially ordered our whole meal! (Appetizers, entrees, AND DESERT!) Thank god she did because I would've forgotten; it's been over 2 hours at this point! The waitress tells me she forgot... brings it out quickly. We use the bathroom and leave quickly. It's the official end time of 8:31 PM... 6:04 PM to 8:31 PM... A slow greeting and service with a hasty send off. *eye roll* *sigh* I was so disappointed in the greeting, the hospitality, the food, the urgency, or at least the concern/attention that I feel should be presented when the food service went the way it did. Not a bad place. Located near the glass museum we made reservations showed up a little early however we were seated right away. Service was alright not very engaging however not rude either. The place is is nice modern was clean. The food was alright not amazing I have had better especially for the price. My bread had potatoes that were supposed to come with my asada and eggs were forgotten. The server noticed and brought them out right away the bread was delicious. We all enjoyed our food there was a small group of us. I would visit again as the beans and drinks were delicious. My steak could have had more flavor my food came out hardly warm and a few minutes after my friends and family got their food so they had asked if they could go head and eat. My first visit was just okay. I made an 11:30 reservation but forgot to tell the person I was meeting, so when she arrived and was seated, she was immediately told we needed to wrap up by 12:00, giving us only 30 minutes. We were then moved to a smaller, far less comfortable table, which didn't help the experience. The service was a mixed bag. Our server was genuinely sweet and clearly caught in an uncomfortable position, but the manager came across as tense and seemed to be taking it out on the situation. Not a great spot for little ones, there's no kids' menu or child-friendly options. I asked for chocolate milk for my 3-year-old and they didn't have it. I ordered her a fruit plate, and when I tried a piece of the pineapple it surprisingly tasted like onions. The eggs were also overcooked. I don't think the waiter was happy about that, he seemed annoyed the entire time. The Carna asada plates were delicious, but I do wish that they came with rice. Tacos gobernados had undercooked bell peppers but overcooked shrimp. The tortilla was good though. The guacamole was yummy. La diabla drink was refreshing and delicious. All the drinks at the table were good. Best margaritas in the state!! I'm not even a margarita fan, but I loved them so much I drank 2, the regular and the guava. The server told us the juice are all hand pressed each morning. Believe me you can taste the freshness!! The tacos are delicious and easily shareable, you get 3 and they are huge. The hand made guacamole is some of the freshest available since they don't make it until you order it. WE LOVE INDITA MIA! Followed them from their old location to this new one. Their drinks are amazing and they have a lot of non-alcoholic options, too. Their ribeye tacos are my favorite, my kids love the carne asade, and none of us can get enough of their guacamole and salsas. the location is beautiful and I can't wait to go during the summer when the kids can play outside while we eat outside. Last time we were there, there was a birthday celebration at the table next to us and it was hilarious and fun all at the same time. We were at MOG, and wanted lunch. We saw this place and decided to give it a try. Hey it's Mexican food what could go wrong right. First off it's very nice inside. The service was good and helped everyone. But here is where it stops. The menu selections were limited. I would expect a variety of chicken, pork, beef and seafood. But not here. Very little chicken options (actually 1) and pork was just a taco (and not that good). Way too much fat not rendered or crisp. Also flavorless on both dishes. The beef dish we had was fatty and not tender and hard to chew. The enchiladas not a good choice as they were cold or lukewarm at best. This restaurant seems like it wants to be upscale and fufu being by the water but it's not in my opinion as the food is underwhelming and overpriced. Unfortunately we didn't even get to eat here because the parking situation is an absolute joke. We drove around for 30 minutes trying to find anywhere to park. The parking garage they mention has small parking spots that basically force cars to park behind each other and box each other in. If you have a truck forget about the garage. I have mixed reviews about this place. I would give it 3.5 stars. When we first checked in we asked to sit outside and were told there was no more outdoor seats available even tho there was tables out there that were empty. But no worries I thought maybe they just seat people at certain tables and not those. Maybe about 5-10 minutes after being seated, people were sat at the empty table that was out there. I thought this was strange and did not make sense why it was not offered to us. We ordered horchata which was delicious but unfortunately there was a bug crawling in mine. The ceviche was good. Just a little bit too much mayo on the tostada but otherwise very good. The guacamole was very good. And the beans it came with was also delicious. I do wonder if they give you more tostadas if you ask. It only came with four. The wagyu barbacoa burritos were delicious. The wagyu tamale was good but the top of it was burnt or something because it was so hard my fork wouldn't even go through it. Other than that it was very good. The masa was not dry at all and there was plenty of meat. Overall I think I would try this place again. The food and drinks tasted good. I will say it just doesn't seem very welcoming. This definitely is a hidden gem (hidden enough for me to struggle finding it, but worth it!! Here's what we tried: 1. Indita omelette: described as an "Organic eggs omelette filled with chilaquiles, onions, cilantro, queso fresco, over a black bean sauce and drizzled with sour cream." and HOLY WOW this was so amazing. I would come back just for this!! Pro tip: we asked them to sub the chilaquiles salsa inside with salsa verde instead and this was and incredible combo with the salsa rojo on outside!!! You have to come here just for this dish frfr! 2. Steak and eggs: this was just it days, a piece of thin steak and a side of eggs (refer to pic!). I love that the eggs are organic, and this dish was yummy, but next time I would get something more flavorful/saucy. However, the REFRIED BEANS WERE TO DIE FOR!!!! Wow, they had a spicy flavor to them and were the perfect refried bean texture. I would honestly order a whole plate of just those. 3. Cafe de olla: I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend ordered this and wow!!! I loved it. I could taste cinnamon and other spices in it, it didn't feel artificial, wasn't too bitter or too sweet, and felt light. If you haven't tried this style of coffee, this is your chance! And what a great price too ($3.50, a steal)! 4. Concha (with Nutella and strawberry): YUM! Our table shared and order of this for dessert. The dough on the concha was not dry (I feel like that's usually the downside of many concha's), and the pairing with Nutella and strawberries was so good!! Our waitress said to eat it like a sandwich, so delish! Other notes: The staff was so kind! They spoke Spanish and English, were very efficient but didn't rush us, and were able to give great recommendations! The ambiance of the place was such a vibe. Had dinner here on the night of the Tacoma boat parade during the holidays...perfect spot with great views. After reading reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect - they seemed pretty mixed. Here is my take. Service is great - staff is friendly and responsive. Our server was Samuel and he was on point. Food is delicious, as were the margaritas with fresh squeezed juice. We had the Sopes as a starter that were not only beautiful, but really good. The order comes with 4 of them, so we did two chicken and two beef. They were equally tasty and the sauces that come on the side are a great accompaniment. We then went on to the chicken enchiladas with green tomatillo sauce. Loved those as well. They make tortillas fresh in house, which makes a huge difference in quality. We finished the meal with tres leches. I am a huge fan of this dessert, and I loved it. Very moist and flavorful. I knocked off a star for the vibe, which was confusing ... is it an eccentric Mexi-techno club with food or traditional Mexican cantina with upscale accents? Also, being holidays and the Christmas boat parade, I was disappointed they went from playing holiday music when we got there to clubbing music. read more

We for there as soon as the restaurant opened so there was no wait and we were greeted immediately. The restaurant is decorate so beautifully and it's right on the water with beautiful views. I ordered the mango flavored cocktail, guacamole, and barbacoa tacos. All were very good. The guacamole came with refried beans and tortilla chips. I think the refried beans were the best I have ever had! I thought the appetizer could have been served with more tortilla chips. I've had a lot of bad Mexican food in the Tacoma area, but seeing the reviews made me pretty excited to try this place. We went around 5:30 on a Saturday and there was zero wait time. The restaurant itself is pretty cute; they play their music quite loud (this didn't bother us, but I know it bothers some people). We ordered the chips & guacamole, tacos de chicharrón, and enchilas indita. The chips & guacamole come with refried beans & homemade tostadas. The guacamole is to die for! It's very fresh and one of my favorite guacamoles I've ever had. The tacos de chicharrón were delicious! The pork belly has a crunch to it and they put these amazing pickled onions on the tacos that really bring it together. Lastly, the enchilas indita. My husband loved these! They come in this creamy chipotle sauce and he mentioned that he loved the homemade tortillas. We ordered two horchatas which is our absolute favorite and they were made extremely well. We also got a tres leches slice to go; it was so light yet decadent! The portions are extremely generous & we felt it was worth the price. Honestly, probably the best Mexican food I've had in WA. Being a Colorado native, it is always difficult to have authentic Mexican food. All I can say is just go....especially if you are tired of sad combo plates, you will not be disappointed in the incredible food and quality at Indita Mia. HUGE shoutout to Cisi (sp....) she was so helpful and recommended Grandma's quesadilla (that is nothing like the American-ized) versions that are oh, so common here in the PNW) and it was amazing. Still looking for that New Mexico or Colorado green chile but this will be our new go-to for authentic Mexican cuisine. 5 stars all the way around. Great *real* margaritas too.
