Imagine this, on Sunday I went in the gym app with a very funky mindset determine to claim a spot in the yin yoga class so I could head to gym and do something different, focusing on wellbeing & breath. I thankfully noticed I was waitlisted because had I shown up I would be utterly embarrassed (on my mind) since I think i had signed up for a more advanced yoga class. Haha after that "failed" attempt into my new year, centered-me, I decided to start over on Monday. Monday came I got busy, never made it. Well, TODAY I walked into Mountainside like the boss (of me) and had an amazing workout, hit it up the weights, did some stretches also and I realized how much I have missed being consistent with my gym and my training. I love how clean mountainside always is, the colors around also are pleasing to the eye, great gym layout, cool people doing their thing, friendly staff, it is a very welcoming atmosphere that helps staying motivated. After my workout, I also managed to get a sauna session that is included in my membership. So, despite the unexpected plot twists of my early 2024 (and it is only 2nd week of the year!), I am so thankful for Mountainside for reminding me of my favorite cliches- "life is too short & health is wealth!" But I knew I needed more. I wanted to lose additional fat, build lean muscle, and truly tone my body, but I didn't have the knowledge or structure to get there on my own. That's where Coach Josiah made all the difference. From the very beginning, he took the time to get to know me on a personal level before ever introducing his program. That stood out immediately. Our communication was consistent and meaningful, and that accountability was exactly what I needed. I was able to be open about injuries and limitations, and instead of letting those hold me back, he guided me through them with a plan that kept me progressing safely and effectively. Enter StretchLab, a place you can go as part of your quality of life training and get a much better range of motion workout than you can get on your own ... by far!! Mobility and flexibility can be improved, just like strength and cardio endurance. It's never as sexy to do, so we tend to avoid it unless you've participated in a sport than requires it. Your ability to balance and move your body through a full range of motion painlessly should be a goal of all athletes, and if you "work out" at all, you are an athlete. Let one of the therapists here test your mobility, develop a functional flexibility program for you, then become your regular once a week partner in improvement toward your goals.

Their cinema room is awesome, a solid variety of old and newer films, their staff are friendly in my own experience, and this location has a deeper pool than some others I've been to, and some of the more modernized equipment and amenities. Their merch and shop selections can be a bit sparse, and like most EOS locations, their child care can be more unavailable vs available, but if you're wanting a fully loaded gym at a reasonable price, you will definitely get what you pay for with this location. In April of this year I decided to join at this EOS location for a greater variety of equipment and the additional amenities like the sauna, pool, and hot tub. I also enjoy some other things they offer like the massage chairs, leg compression bags, and cryo chairs. My biggest issue with this location is definitely the sheer volume of members. This gym is packed all hours of the day. Some days it's nearly impossible to stay on you set work for that day because you can't access the equipment you need. I can really only dedicate an hour of my days to working out and some days I feel like I lose time just look or waiting for equipment to open up. I read a where one person commented on the teenagers that go and simply monopolize equipment as they socialize. This is absolutely true. The equipment is well maintained and when they break they usually fix within the week. I wish they would at least put up signs to tell you when stuff is out of order. I can't wait till they open the new one in San Tan next year.
