I wish I could give this place a negative star. I've had nothing but bad experience with the people who run this place. Only time I was peace while living there is when I didn't leave the apartment. I might sound like a bitter old tenant but I assure you I am not. Let's start of with all the extra fees these jokers charge: 1) Move in fee: $200 - On of the "security" guards stands there for 5 minutes and leaves while the moving is still happening. During the move in you have to give the leasing office a check of $1500 for damages and when I went to get it back, no one's at the leasing office. It took me over 2 weeks to get my check back because every time I went they were out to lunch. 2) Move out fee: $200 - See above but this time I stirred up a storm to get my deposit back. The people working at the leasing office DO NOT help you whatsoever. They're only there to con people into moving into this nightmare. 3) Parking Fee: $50 - We rented a 2br apartment even then you have to pay a $50 fee a month even though half the parking spots are always empty. Leasing/Management Office: Once I received my security deposit back they had charged for water, sewer, and utilities for the two months I had already paid in amount of $80. On top of that they claim they replaced my fridge door because of a small scratch (I can upload picture for proof) costing me $420. Along with that they charge $163 for replacing the blinds because one them was bent (again I've proof of this). When I called the management office, the first rep tells me if I want to argue any charges I have to write to them...are you for real?!?! So I hang up on her. Call again, second rep was bit more help but in the end I was transferred to a voice mail box. I'm befuddled at how this management company is still around. As one of the reviewers mentioned, they guys are a "criminal organization." I tried calling.. no response... no response.. then after reading all these reviews.. I thought why bother?? A friend told me to move to Weehawken.. .up on the hill it's a real neighborhood with lots of young people commuting to city.. they have a shuttle that goes from Blvd. east and depending where you get on can take like 15 mins and you can get off almost anywhere once you get out to the tunnel!! best part it's $3. the rents in Weehawken are really great.. especially compared to buildings like this which are in the middle of NOWHERE!! read more

I lived at this location for 2 years. I am not satisfied with my stay here and how they treated me after I moved out of this place. Every tenant I have talked to so far about the money they deduct from the security deposit, I came to find a pattern. They will deduct the amount of money from your deposit for the period for which your unit was unoccupied after you leave. One thing is for sure that they never give your 100% deposit back. In my case I have decided to take them to court for my deduction since the pics that I have when I was leaving had no damage in the fridge but they showed me a pic with scratches in the fridge door and charged $400 for that. You can buy a whole new fridge for that price. Some of the issues with this so called luxury community : 1) Very expensive compared to the town of Secaucus. You can do the research by checking the rent of the Secaucus town and the area they provide you to live. 2) Doorman/concierge are not doorman at all here. Even if both your hands are busy and something falls from your hand while opening the door , nobody will come to your rescue , be rest assured. 3) If you have tenants living above you, you can hear their foot steps as the construction here is not a good quality. Thin floors make life miserable. 4) Shuttle is not free - you pay $600 /year on top of your rent and NJ transit pass to reach to the train station. 5) My unit had to be cleaned for bed bugs twice. They told me that my unit was never rented before but in few months my couch and living room got heavily infested with bed bugs and I had ask for heavy chemical spray. I was out of my unit for 3 weeks due to this. I can't forget the smell of the spray till date, Other units have bed bugs here too. 6) There is minimum power back up in the entire community. During Sandy we had a horrible time living here. Almost got into depression due to no backup and light. 7) Curtesy to the front desk service you will never receive your packages. I had a really hard time receiving my packages here. I lost so many amazon deliveries here. 8) Even if you decide to move here , take a before move in video of your unit and a move out video of your unit with date and time visible on it because these people will try to steal your security deposit for the damages for which you are never responsible. Sometimes they do the damage themselves to keep your security deposit. WARNING : Stay as far as you can from this place if you want to keep your money safe. read more

Let's put things in context: it's a few days before thanksgiving, and I have to move by November 30th. I see Xchange (Next), love the apartments, love that there's a shuttle and many amazing amenities. They offered the first month's free, but $2,290 is way too much for a one bedroom. But I still applied because of the amenities and shuttle. Within 1hr of applying they inform me that I'm declined, and suggest I call renters relations to fix the problem. Ok, I call RR, fix the problem, and call back Xchange to see if I'm still denied. Now starts the BS. The agent tells me that the main office is the one making decisions and haven't told her anything yet. Ok, I was approved for another apartment elsewhere so it doesn't matter. A week later, literally one day before I move into my new apartment (not at Xchange), they have the nerve to call me and ask if I had any questions. I said "why are you calling me? I thought I was denied?" Then she calls the main office and says she'll call me back which she never did. So I called the next day and another woman said I was still denied. Another week later, after I'm moved we receive an email from them saying "we hope you choose Xchange as your new home". They are not professional, wasted my time, wasted $150 applying there, and kept making it seem like I'm approved or could be. There's a serious lack of communication between their on site office and main office. I don't recommend applying there. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I really can't say it any clearer you will absolutely regret it hands down. I would even go as far to say don't move into any building that is run by Middlesex Management Group. Stay far away I move almost every year because of work and if there is one thing I have learned is never move into a place that will charge you a move out fee (Xchange charges $200) there is a reason they need to collect 200 from you it's because no one wants to stay there and with good reason. Please do not move into this place I wouldn't trust them with my trash I wish I read all the one star reviews before I moved in I would rather live on the street than move back into here read more

Negatives: Beware of poor customer service. The management company that owns the Xchange does not have their act together and might lose your rental payment and blame you (after they cash your check!). During one incident we paid our rental on time, but were told that we never paid our rent. I called into the call center to inquire how this could have happened and the staff would hang up on me when I attempted to explain that I paid and my bank statements indicated that I had also paid. After hours of making calls and trying to argue with illogical staff I finally found someone at Middlesex Management who listened. They finally realized it was their fault! Overall, Middlesex Management is extremely unprofessional and refuses to cooperate when there are problems. They make moving out a real pain, especially if you break the lease. I'm talking about paperwork and dealing with an unresponsive office. Take photos of everything in the apartment before you move into the unit as the staff will accuse you of doing damage even if the apartment had preexisting damage. When I moved in the water did not run and there was dirt all over the place! When there were issues in the building such as doors from the parking lot never opening we would never hear back when we requested support. Management did not take pride in ensuring the whole building was functional and would never respond to us. The building has some excess fees for moving in and out. Seemed a bit much to me, but nothing tenants can do besides not sign the lease. Positives: Maintenance staff would respond very fast when there was an issue. You get your own address rather than having to say apartment number 123. Outside grounds were maintained very well and they did a great job with the landscaping. The interiors are nice, but the materials are not the best quality which is expected since it is an apartment after all. Nice location if you work in New York and don't' want to live in Jersey City! I thought the rent was decent considering the building was modern and you were next to a huge transits hub. Tips: The shuttle might be good for those who walk slow or hate exercise, but I found that it was inefficient and due to pickup locations it was not great for me. I found that biking to the station was sometimes faster. Watch you, there is no real grocery store in Secaucus besides an extremely crowed WalMart . I did find a nice store that sold lots of fresh fruits and produce in the town of Secaucus. If you do work in NJ and take the highway next to the Xchange, please add 5 minutes to your commute due to the huge onramp to the highway that is about two miles long. I think the onramp is so crazy long to avoid some burial grounds? read more

Bad for babies!!!!!!!!! The apartments are provided with a new carpet on leasing which sheds like crazy despite regular vacuuming even after a month. So if you have a baby who crawls you would want to avoid this place as crawling on this carpet would inevitably mean inhaling or eating carpet shedding. Its's been 1.5 months since we moved in here. Within the first few days we realised the carpet is shedding. We brought this up to the maintenance guy in our building and he said as it is a new carpet we need to vacuum it. But even now after many weeks here, the carpet still continues to shed. Our vacuum has got clogged up and stopped working multiple times with the unending shedding. Every time I call the customer care they send someone from maintenance, who has the same reply,"Keep vacuuming. We don't know how long will it take for the carpet to stop shedding." When I went to the Leasing Office with this is issue, they directed me to the property manger's office. They too had the same response as the maintenance guys. The only solution they offered me was for me to pay for an upgraded carpet that will not shed. Seriously, you give me a low quality shedding carpet and then expect me to pay for an upgrade for the right quality carpet that should have been provided in the first place. And my biggest concern is that I have a 9month old baby, who is just learning to crawl. All this carpet shedding is a big health hazard for her. My husband and I are in our early thirties and have been living at this complex for two years. The staff is always extremely friendly, the management team is always going above and beyond to ensure that the tenants are happy and the cleaning staff is always ensuring that the hallways, trash rooms, lobbies etc are exceptionally clean. This complex is the ideal place to live if you enjoy a luxury, clean and friendly environment. Whenever we encounter issues in our apt ( heat, washer, etc) we're provided with assistance within 15-45 mins which is awesome. The amenities costs $50 which covers a huge pool, hot tube, sauna, steam room, outdoor and indoor gym, private classes ( yoga, spin class, etc) game room (pool, golf stimulator, arcade games, ping pong, fooze ball, etc). Let's not forget the FREE parties and summer activities that this complex throws for the tenants which includes but is not limited to Halloween, St Patrick day, Cinco De Mayo, Christmas Tree Lighting (better than the Rockefeller Center) etc. This place is EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!! I went there with my wife to check out our future home in Xchange. Guess what happened? We stuck in the elevator for at least 40 minutes with NO signs of help!!. We were on a tour of 6 people total. The elevator just bumped once and stopped working after the 3rd floor going down!! None of our cell phones worked in there. We called for emergency help from the elevator. The person from the other end told us to keep pushing the button every couple minutes so that they didn't lose us. It was around 12pm and we were hungry and thirsty plus I had the urgency to use bathroom. It was a quite suffer. Imagine if there was someone who had any kind of health conditions and could potentially DIE in there (this is very serious if you think about living here)! It could happen to anyone or family members! I will definitely not going to have my parents living in Xchange after this incidence. We were very upset with their quality of the building. They are now building another one and according to their agent, it only takes them few months to build another set of units for people to live in. How can I trust that to call it home? In the beginning of the tour, they made everyone to sign a consent for not liable if we died on the site because of the constructions. That just showed me how unconfident they were with their safety problems. What happened to us approved my point. It was a nice place, but for starting with $2230 for a one bedroom apartment, the potential of dying somewhere in the building is ridiculous expensive! After we finally got out, we were not compensated and I think they just wanted us to pretend that it didn't happen. It was also such a waste of time. read more

I have never written a review before but feel compelled to share some information that I wish I had know before making the poor decision to rent here. I just wanted others aware of the poor management both on and off site and some things to keep in mind. They think it is NYC living at a lower cost but please don't be fooled. Cons: - the apartments are NOISY (and please note I live in the newest section, the Next building is what it is called). Despite them charging higher rent than other buildings (around 3k for 2br) it's not worth it because new construction doesn't helping hearing loud footsteps from apartment above you or voices from those adjacent to you. We have lived in several other buildings both in the city and in Jersey, and most were older construction with a lot less noise!! - they want to charge you monthly fee for the shuttle service to the train station, which again is a joke given how much they charge for rent - on site management is not help at all, they conveniently act like they have no say over anything but then don't offer to help you connect with management company office and just shuffle you over to them - getting main management office to respond or trying to get through to person you want is ridiculous and don't hold your breath...only way we got someone to help us was to call all day over and over and then just show up in person so they can't ignore you anymore - the construction going on is noisy and I get it, but they openly misled me when I rented and said it wasn't going to start on my side for a year,.,,only for me to have to deal with it starting two months into it...I was pregnant at the time of renting so obviously would NOT have rented this unit if I had been told the truth...and there were other units available at the time so it's really disappointing and frustrating to be to,d "well you knew it was an active construction site". Yes...no kidding....that's EXACTLY why my husband and I asked VERY specific questions around it and Anna in the on site office told us not an issue for about a year. Nice. guess some people just are ok with not being honest and just focusing on their target of renting the apartments any way possible. read more

After several years of waiting and writing letters to Middlesex Mgmt and the Xchange of the harassment we were dealing with in regards to a former employee and family living above us, we finally got transfer to another building. In July 2017 we moved into the new unit and low and behold us, harassment from Middlesex Mgmt and the Xchange. First and foremost you cannot move into a new unit without the proper documents or you cannot sign the lease. We receive a letter from Middlesex advising us we were non-compliance for we had not submitted the liability insurance. Secondly, I receive invoice for Aug 1st rent and notice that did not transfer my security deposit. Now I am told that the security cannot be transfer due to damages that was left in the apartment. My husband is terminally ill disabled veteran and I his wife a prime caregiver, we are both over 60 and what damages can we do. They are known for not returning deposit and creating damages that are non existence, especially charges of under 2000 dollars. We are in the affordable housing and this has to stop, HUD and the better business bureau should be contacted and they should be investigated. As soon as we save enough money we will be out of the god forsaken, luxury housing. Make sure if you want to apply for affordable housing this is not the place, an apartment cannot give you status. This place and its employees are money hungry individuals. Every one does something for a price. read more

Beware of the term "Luxury Apartment..." There is nothing luxurious about the complex expect for the fitness center however, it's not included in the rent. If you use the pool, just know your being watched by random security and concierge staff on the computers at the front desk and each bldg front desk. The "concierge" service they claim to provide is nothing more than a person handing you your amazon package (if you even get it) from behind a desk. That's it and that's if they are even there! You will probably have to wait. You end up paying a portion of the complex electric and water bill - even if you do not use it. The smell is terrible and the trash rooms are constantly full of garbage that is rotting food. The move in and move out is such a joke. You pay 200 or so dollars for both plus the 1500 dollar deposit. They claim it's for elevator use (does not work all the time) and "security presence" but security is no where around during the move. You will be charged for random things during your move out so be prepared. Take pictures and make sure you demand security be present to watch your moving van because that's what your paying for! read more
