I guess now I know where the crappy business of the neighborhood is in the North Loop. Their website said they accept walk-ins. Obviously they do not. There were zero customers there when I got there and zero customers when I left. They had two barbers doing nothing. They said that since I did not book an appointment online, they couldn't help me. They were so rude I decided it was better time spent to tell people about this experience rather than go on my phone and book an appointment.

I get my hair cut by Si, who is one of the shop owners. He does a great job. I am in and out of there in ~25 minutes, but he does a great job and is a good technician with the clippers and does an excellent fade. I do not feel like he is rushing or in a hurry, just a very good barber. My wife is always happy with the results, so what more could I ask for? That all changed with this appointment. Set aside anything involving how nice it truly is to have someone take care of you. While he's absolutely amazing at this aspect of his job, where he really shines is the personal touch he provides during the process, which will be a unique experience for each individual. He was able to keep me relaxed while taking a straight razor to my face. That deserves an award in itself. I will absolutely be returning in the near future for another shave and haircut. I've decided that it was such an overwhelmingly positive experience, I will have to start coming on a monthly basis. It is well worth it. Joe is an excellent barber who knows how to do it right. I moved away a few years ago but still see Joe for a haircut when I'm in town about 6 times per year. Snuck me in as a walk-in between two appointments. No salesman sheen on anyone's faces, just genuine welcome without all the extra niceties. They still use an old register not hooked up to any WiFi or computer or Bluetooth. They only accept cash or... check! Some may say outdated, I say refreshing and much needed relaxed paced small town feel. Such a treat to escape the high-tech, sterile world we are all living in these days.
