I don't write reviews often but this one is a money grab if I've ever seen one the lady next door even warns everyone about his bad business so much so she directs me blocks away to a another spot but she tells me to just get a quote and sees what the next door guy says. Which was true he tries to charge me $65 for a minor DIY zipper adjustment since I was busy and didn't have time to do it myself. This guy tries to force feed bullshit and say I needed a whole new zipper and stitching in unnecessary places for all cheap bag I just wanted to close, I could just hear this dude foaming out the mouth for money I could of sworn I was talking to Mr, Crabs from SpongeBob the service is just a joke and a gimmick instead of being a good guy and saying "oh hey all you want is the bag to close cause the zipper popper off on one side? it's simple here I'll charge you a $5 fee just for the service and I'll fix it" not no damn "I NeEd A wHoLe nEw ZiPpEr" head ass "give me $65" but in reality i think he took me for an 65 year old lady with dementia. i hope this place gets shut down because how are you going to be greedy with no customers? My Louis Vuitton never full purse was breaking and I tried to take back to the store to send for repairs (isn't that part of the deal for that much money?) but they said no they wouldn't be able to help. I tried Everett's and Victor was great - he inspected the rips on the leather near the top and said the best thing was to cut around it to remove the ripping part and then restitch the cord around the top back on. I trusted him and I'm so glad I did! It took the few weeks he said but it looks like a new bag and his work was excellent. He is a good person, man of his word and is very good at his craft. I'm very pleased with two projects I requested to be done at Everett's the past month. 1. My favorite purse broke where the strap meets the purse and Victor was able to fully repair both ends like new again. I'm so glad to use my favorite purse again! 2. I bought a pair of Clark's heels which were comfortable in the store and then too loose at home. I took them to Everett's, where Victor took measurements and figured out a way to tighten the closure strap so that they would fit properly! I'm super pleased with the result. Victor will ask you if you have a date you need them by. If you're not specific then expect it to take longer because other projects that do have a deadline will take priority. I did not specify other than to say by Christmastime so the purse took 2 weeks and the shoes took 4 weeks. They were worth the wait. He takes the time to ask you what you're looking for and to give you options and advice as needed. He's friendly and does excellent work. I do think the prices are reasonable. read more

I was in need of a good cobbler to install toe protectors on my Allen Edmonds loafers. I was wearing out the toes quickly and decided to find a different cobbler to install them. I had another install toe protectors on my Crockett & Jones and they were not flushed. These were perfectly flushed. Needless to say he has 3 others shoes right now having toe protectors, custom leather insoles and one full resole being done. I'm not going anywhere else for shoe repair, finally found a true craftsman of shoe repair. Over the years of buying Goodyear welted shoes I learned key terminology to ask a cobbler, and this by far the most knowledgeable and honest one I met. If you are in a 30 mile radius and need a true shoe cobbler take them here. I previously considered shipping my shoes out of state to cobblers in Florida or Tennessee that have strong brand names on the internet. I'm saving shipping cost and taking them over here instead. Anyone who knows good quality craft shoes knows JR leather, full brass Triumph toe protectors are all high quality materials that need to be installed with the highest of quality. read more

I don't usually write a bad review, but this couldn't go unnoticed or unsaid. I took a pair of high heals for an easy repair, the heal needed a new cap. These are Italian high heals from brand Rossi. That's not the point, however when fixing the show they either touched them some chemical or heat and damaged my shoes. To make it worse he says I brought them in, in this condition, completely lying to my face! I can never deal with dishonest people. The new owner of Everett's shoe repair in Claremont is a legit craftsperson. He installed these flush Lulu toe plates onto my new Cobbler Union whole cuts. He even re-did the stitching on the toes by hand because the threading was frayed due to my own over zealous polishing. Hand stitching insures that the restitching remains in the original welt holes. Pricing is reasonable and comparable to mail-in services such as the Hanger Project and Potter & Sons. I also brought in some Frye boots for re-soles using high quality JR oak barked leather soles and I'm happy with the results. The shoes are probably better constructed and higher quality than when originally purchased. When I came to drop off the shoe originally the positive, friendly customer service was definitely lacking. Gave this place a chance still because there aren't many shoe repair places in the area. When I had replied to their missed call the lady on the phone was definitely still having heavy attitude stating she left a voicemail ect, I let her know I completely understood and apologized for not answering that I would come in later today to pick up the shoe. I arrived 15 minutes prior to closing on a Friday, being told that pick up is super fast I didn't think that i'd be preventing them from leaving their shop on time.
