I have comcast business class telephone and I've called comcast more times than I can count to have them resolve an issue they created by listing me as a business and selling my phone number to the yellow pages and other phone directory sites. I specifically stated when I setup my service I did not want to be listed and I was not a business but they sold me down the river as an Apple Store. So now people drive by my house and call me at all hours trying to talk to Apple. I've called the companies they sold my number to had them take me off their lists months ago but I still get calls and I still show up in the yellow pages with my personal home address and phone number as an Apple Business. I am furious with comcast and if there were some other provider I could go with in my area I would. Thank the government for allowing monopolistic cable companies to take over. read more

The internet/Cable TV service is excellent. It is fast and reliable. The cable interface (X-1) is also excellent. It's luxurious. If you can burn 2-3K a year living high on the electronic hog, you'll love it. You will still have to deal (over the phone) with customer "service" people when you have to install a new modem. This may take literally hours, and the ignorance and incompetence of these people will be just astonishing. They are usually nice, though. Don't be late with your payment. They extract a substantial charge if you cross a line. Don't expect to understand your bill or what you can do to save money. This will be impossible. Don't try to establish that actual cost of something. Everything is wrapped up in bundles and deals. It's easier to hire an agent. That's modern life... read more

Terrible!!!!!!! One star is too many!!! After being a customer for over 12 years we finally cancelled our services today. We finally had enough! The worst costumer service I have ever experienced. After spending 10 hours trying to fix our tv (ON THE PHONE) the they scheduled a service van to come to our house this morning. We took work off in order for them to come today. THEY DID NOT SHOW!!! We called to ask what happened and they said they cancelled the appointment. They did not bother to tell us that it was cancelled, they just did. The woman I spoke to was rude and clueless. So bummed to cancel our cable, but thrilled I do not have to deal with this company again. So frustrated!!!! read more

The recent snow in Eugene caused our phone/internet service to go out. I contacted Comcast's technical support and they were unable to fix the problem, so an appointment was scheduled to have someone come out and deal with the problem. The appointment window came and went. No technician. I called and was told that they were experiencing another outage and that when it was resolved, the technician would come out. Several hours later, I called back to check, I was then told that my appointment had been cancelled. After telling the service rep. what had happened, I went ahead and rescheduled a new appointment. The rep said that he would try to get me an earlier appointment. I received an email confirming the new appointment, then a second email confirming an earlier time, then a third email confirming an even earlier time. Later, I logged in to my account to check something, and thought to double check the status of my appointment. I then found out that despite three emails confirming that I had an appointment, I in fact did NOT have an appointment for a service technician. read more

Comcast's service has been great - when we've had trouble, they've come out and fixed it - even running new cable from the street to our house and rewiring the internal connections to improve signal strength. When we decided we didn't need TV service and would be fine with slower internet, the agent on the phone was very polite and changed us to a new program without trying to get us to change our mind or get faster internet than we need. My beef with them is that you have to remember to change your service each year because their "special price" expires after one year and then the price just keeps going up and up. So we'll just change our service each year and keep the lower prices. read more

DO NOT USE Who ever heard of a home security system that you can't record video 24/7. Welcome to Comcast. Someone tried to break into our house, they never gained entry, but I have outside cameras, but they can't record unless a sensor is tripped. So now we have no video of what they look like. Every other system out there, I would have video to turn over to the police. Now I don't have anything. The worst thing is, I was told by the salesman and the installer that I could record if I provided my on PC and DVR. Well guess what, that isn't the case either. These guys have gone from bad to worst. Now there saying they don't know what my problem is because I continue to deny techs to enter my home. I have over a hounded dollars in credit from the ten techs that came out with no resolution. So I asked for the next to have something for me to sign so they don't turn around and say I denied him access. Now there saying I continue to make appointments and cancel them. Further they said that I'm labeled clinically insane and that I'm worried someone is stealing my internet. That's why they won't send any more techs out. There's nothing to steal. I have the app that shows how much data I use each month. I'm not even close to using a quarter of each month. What I was worried was my account being compromised. And it was. My Comcast account. They finally alerted me of a third call back number that wasn't mine or did I authorize it. After five months of this third number being on my account. Good news is there investigating the account and sending another tech out tomorrow lol! The came out with nothing to sign and when I asked him to replace the modem he went out to his truck and never came back. read more

It is strange, I am not writing as a subscriber of Comcast, but for friend that is afraid to say anything negative about anyone. However, I feel it is only right that people keep a few things in mind when dealing with a less than reputable monopoly like NBC's Comcast/Exfinity. This company knows that it is one of the only games in town with wifi high speed internet. Which if you are someone that is reliant on the internet service for business can make it a double edge sword. Comcast knows that they are the big dog in town due to lack of competition, and know they have you hostage with the internet service and the email. With companies like Comcast do not tie your primary email account to a service provider, when and if you discontinue the service it will cost you dearly. This is especially noticeable if you have been held hostage for a long period of time, loosing connection with customer base, and redoing all advertising and stationary needs, this cost can be formidable. The sad part is they know it, and will move at there own sense of urgency. Moreover, they will also charge you to fix something that they have broken, or is inferior, let alone the fact they have failed to provide a promised services. Example in the past 3.5 years, the internet service has only worked properly 34% of the time and that maybe a high estimate. They know they have you hooked when you put your primary email with them. Being connected to liberal media, how soon do you think they will change? Be forwarned, Comcast is a perfect example of a well oiled monopoly. When a company runs a monopoly, and comcast/xfinity absolutely runs a monopoly in Eugene Oregon. They can do whatever they want, go somewhere else if you don't like it. That's why monopoly's are supposed to be illegal in the United States. Bait and switch is supposed to be illegal in the United States, yet businesses do it all the time. I am currently using the prepaid internet service. The service is ok, like I have a choice. The customer service for prepay, DOES NOT EXIST. There's a number for prepay customer service for sure. Go ahead and call their call center in India or Pakistan, whichever it is, if your lucky you'll get the one in Mexico, at least you can understand them, with ANY problem. The only solution to ANY problem you have, is to first blame you or your equipment, if you don't go for that, the other solution is to give you a pro rated refund, that's it. that's your prepay customer service. There, I saved you a frustrating phone call to cs. Btw, if you use to much data, they'll change your connection to a smaller bandwidth channel to keep you from using to much data. They claim they don't do that. They lie. So if you find the name of your connection changed from xfinitywifi, to xfinitywifi 2 or 3, and your speed suddenly drops by 2/3, thats the reason. they just throttled you. read more

I am giving one star because 0 stars is not allowed. Comcast is a HORRIBLE company. They have a virtual stranglehold on the area where I live. I have had CONcast (typo intentional) in my home since October, 2005. I have moved 1x. I had them in my biz from Apr, 2004, with 3 moves. Both services have been consistently poor, mostly with ISP and modem issues. In July, 2017, I closed my biz. Because of a contract they trapped me in (I wanted my biz internet to work, it did not, in order to get it to work, they forced me to agree to a 3 yr contract - for real), CONcast forced me to agree to move unwanted business services to my home, and get rid of my residential. You know those ads they have where they claim they work with your schedule? That is a lie. Right off the bat, they started playing games about scheduling the non-optional tech visit to my house, which I did not even want. How much tech knowledge do you need to unplug wires from one device and into another? I am certain that visit was ALL about $$$ (ripping me off with unnecessary procedures). Then they proceeded to refuse to work with my new job's schedule. They insisted I needed to allow 4 hours for the tech visit, all on days I had to work. They set up a cycle of promising to work with me, having me call to set up the special time, only to be told it was impossible. That game went on for 5 MONTHS, all whilst I paid over $300 a month for the redundant home/biz services. Finally I was able to rearrange my life to accomodate Comcast, the tech came 2 hrs late on the orders of Comcast - after they had told me no accommodation. He told me that the business equipment I had was inferior, I should just keep running my residential, and return the business stuff at my leisure. He said once he filed the paperwork, everything would be done. I have a witness to that interaction. His memory of events substantiates my own. I also journal things, and this is what my contemporaneous records show. I assumed it was all taken care of. THEIR worker said so. Flash forward to March. I get word I am allegedly in breach of contract for non-payment of my bill. Funny, they had been creeping around my account every month, taking over $200 a month for their garbage services. I called the person, he said he could not fix the issue, and dumped me on someone else. Many internal buck-passes later, I landed with some poor woman in residential. She thought if she turned off my residential services, that would fix it, so I said sure. It did not. I asked them to turn them back on and went back to the pointless phone calls. Flash forward to today. I got an email from a collections agency alleging I now owe CONcast $3,500.00 for breach of contract and early termination. Between March and today, I have repeatedly emailed them, called them, and been passed around uselessly as part of their f***ery. I just spent 2.5 HOURS being passed around to SIX people, repeating this tale over and over. They tried to claim that it's my responsibility THEIR employee told me it was "all taken care of" back in January. They tried to exact $3,500 from me, claiming I owe it. BULLSH**. They offered me a $150 credit towards that for their "part" in the problem. ??! THIS IS ALL THEM. My error was trusting them to be competent and slightly honest. One of their 6 agents said that this situation was "ridiculous," apologised, and said it was "not right." The next one tried to get me to give them $3,500. In the end, I am stuck with a business account I do not want (as mentioned above, their worthless non-functioning services led to this whole mess to begin with), terminated residential services, no cable (because not available to home business, and I am not GD paying $120/mo for their stupid basic cable services), a "credit" of $248 of the stolen $1,000 they have taken in the past 5 mos whilst playing these games... and a 2.5 hour recording of the entire conversation. I have them lying - repeatedly - on record. E.g. they asked where the business modem is. It is in my garage. I told them I had found it in there last night - three times I said that. Not 10 minutes later, the same guy mentions that I had said I returned the modem, even though he had previously *read* a note from my file indicating I had told the tech back in January that I did not know where it was (true at the time - somewhere in that garage). LIAR. Several of them repeatedly said they want to make this right for me. Really? Right would be you let me out of the f***ing BS contract you forced me into last year. If I could get any other ISP, even a slower one, I would. In 6 mos my home will be without internet, because that is better than having these CROOKS in my life. Avoid this company if you possibly can. They are HORRIBLE. This has been the worst customer ABUSE experience I have ever had, and I'm not a spring chicken, so they had some competition. Peak speeds are half of what I pay for, if I can ever get them. Connection to the internet drops at least every hour, often requiring a modem reboot. If there were options other than Comcast that could put TV/Internet utilities in the same package, I would switch in a heartbeat. I created a Yelp account solely to post this one-star review of Comcast. I have been a fairly constant Comcast customer since 2006. I have moved several times over the course of the last 10 years, which should be unsurprising to anyone who is not a homeowner. At each of my residences, I have had Comcast. Not necessarily because they had the best reputation or prices, but primarily because they were the best option for internet service. Their product is pretty decent. During my most recent move, Comcast re-set my due date and created a new account for me. I've been making payments to them on the 15th of the month for the past 5 years, but this change meant I was now paying about 13 days late. Based on principal, I would not pay ahead- so I was now paying "past due". However, I wasn't being charged late fees as the payments I was making must have been in whatever grace period they allow (had I been charged late fees, I would have definitely talked to someone about getting my due date fixed). When my bundle ended in October, I called and discussed my services with Comcast, and they offered me a new bundle, which I accepted. My bill this month (November) is for $355 dollars, when my previous bill was for $150; my new regular bill is supposed to be for $180. However, when they changed my package, they decided to bill me a late fee on top of not telling me what my "past due" amount was. I will say, that the (obviously Indian) person who I spoke to on the phone was very polite and apologetic, and did waive the late fee for me. I have no qualms there, but rather with the fact that she told me that in order to change my due date they would have to open up a new account for me. This was the 4th new account (and therefore my 4th account number and 4th Comcast email/user name) that I've received from Comcast, despite relatively short lapses in my being a customer (I had my service disconnected for a short time in 2008 when I was struggling with work, and didn't carry service in my own name for about 3 months when I was living with a friend). Back around 2010, I distinctly remember them thanking me at one point for my years of patronage. It was a matter of pride for me as a broke kid just trying to get by. Now, I have to argue with them about how long I've been a customer. I firmly believe that if Comcast had any decent competition in the area, their customer base would be half of what it is today, if not less. I know I wouldn't be one. read more

The technicians have no idea what their doing and everytime they come to fix something in my home, because of them, I get charged or they tell me they cannot do it cause its above their pay grade. WTF. I am so frustrated with them and if it wasn't because I live in South Florida, which rains a lot, I would get Direct TV or Dish. Their customer support (by phone) has degraded to the point of absurdity and highway robbery. It used to be, not so long ago, that you could call their 800 number, if you were having problems, and you'd get a nice person who would fix it quickly. Now, when you call, you get someone who speaks English as a foreign language, is probably based somewhere across the globe, has no respect for your problem and tells you that you'll have to pay an additional $9.95/month to get "advanced" technical support. I said to them "I don't care if you call it "advanced" or "basic" or any other label your company wants to invent. We are paying customers, and if the internet isn't working, we should be able to get effective support without paying blood money." It is just another way for them to increase profits, while they $crew the public. We are now looking into alternatives to this corporate monster. read more

LIARS!!!! I knew when I called Xfinity/Comcast that they were already LIARS who will tell you what you want on the phone and not deliver. They bait and switched me today. I spoke to Stephanie on the phone yesterday, who assured me that she would not lie to me, and she sounded so nice and honest I believed her, so maybe she is just reading what they tell her and its the company that is lying, but the tech who installed my equipment told me that this happens CONSTANTLY. As another reviewer noted, Comcast has so much money and so little competition, they can basically do whatever they want and get away with it, AS LONG AS THEY HAVE PEOPLE WHO WILL DO THEIR DIRTY WORK (employees, contractors) they will continue to win. When people stand up in their own integrity and refuse to represent these companies, they may have a little less power.
