Bumping this up because at the end of the day it's still Xfinity and annoying to deal with. But I did have an easy experience in the store yesterday returning my old modem (that has been spotty recently) and getting a new one. While troubleshooting my modem issues online I ended up "upgrading" my internet plan since my contract was up, but I managed to get the same price I was paying for another year without a contract and with a free modem and twice the internet speed. Score. (I wanted the 5 year price lock guarantee, but that wasn't available). I didn't want to deal with shipping a modem back and forth so I ran into the store to swap it out. It took like 30 seconds to return it, and then they got me the new one a minute or two later and I was on my way. I visited the store to help my elderly mother with changing her service. Imaad came around the service desk to see what we needed and was patient in listening to understand the issues. He then offered a different plan that was better suited and less expensive. Thank you, Imaad, for providing excellent customer service. He explained everything clearly and patiently. You deserve a raise as you are an exemplary employee for Xfinity. Oh, before visiting the store front, I tried calling on the phone. Their answering baffle is horrible. It takes forever and day to get through it and even though I tried to get an agent to speak with, the baffle would keep sending me to another set of computer voiced prompts. After what was like 30 minutes of me verbalizing "help" and "agent" I still never got to speak to a live person. Xfinity corp....you need to do better. It's obvious you have this to deter people from getting help! It's frustrating and terrible. Thank goodness I found Imaad who turned this review around completely. Edit: although Imaad understood the issues, my mother was continually billed the full amount despite changing to only internet. I called and spoke to Shan who saw all the calls, visits and they reassured me that it was indeed fixed and the amount would be pro rated for next bill. Astonishingly enough, two bills later, her charge is still the original Triple Play plan but billed even higher and they also added the Internet plan on top of it. The loop to get to someone with issues specific to your need makes you want to hang yourself! Today the automated demon just said sorry can't help you until service is restored "good bye." And the rate increases that you have to try to negotiate are crazy! I have been a loyal customer for over 45 years, before Comcast/Xfinity bought them in '81 when it had been Viacom, and they raised my rates for having internet, cable and mobile $60 more per month last year. I just had the worst customer service experience in my life. Thanks, Comcast! A few weeks ago I spoke with a rep because I need the updated cable box. She said there would be no charge and she will mail a new cable box and modem to me, and of course installation will be very simple and easy. 2 days later I received a box with 2 different white modems (and no cable box). I talked to another customer service rep and he said they would mail out the cable box. Nothing was sent. Today I talked to a woman and she tried to sign me up for a 2nd cable box for a 2nd TV. No I do not recommend this business. I had been an Xfinity customer for years, but they lost me due to poor customer service. I was about to enroll in all of the services because I wanted to streamline my utilities and have them come from the same company. There was such a mix up when I attempted to transfer my phones and so much back and forth with me doing all the legwork to try and figure it out; I just gave up. Experienced 4 outages of 2+ hours (all of which were during work hours). You can't even get credit for your bill as recompense for the outages. There is so many reasons why. I hate Xfinity for all the stress and "I am sorrys" Every time after spending a hour or more to get a live customer service, I drive to Nashua store the only one , and always, always have a long wait line. Last time 1 hr and a half !! That time was to set up a new phone I got through Xfinity, 3 hours to set up Xfinity with Chris. My other phone service immediately sent the transfer # needed and anything else within minutes. Still 3 hours to activate the new phone. Next morning only had emergency phone service !! With great anxiety I drove back to Nashua store waited another hour or more to be served. It only got worse from there. Took back the phone got a transfer # to go to a new phone service. Then it became unbearable. 7 hours my phone # was being held until 6:15 that night. I talked to the transfer person 3 times but got no where. My friend was dying and my hands were tied waiting for the ability to communicate with her family. I hope you can hear my recorded call ! She passed and I blame Xfinity for taking my phone # hostage. My husband and I went in to see if we could reduce our bill that had inflated after our contract expired. Our bill had gone up around $50 a month so we were anxious to get it back down. Tullio (pardon me if the name is misspelled) greeted us at the door, brought up our account, offered options that reduced our bill by $40 and gave us a new router for internet and DVR service (which we had never had). We could save another $10 per month by signing up for autopay in the app. It was quick, painless and my husband was thrilled to get DVR service. We had a great experience and will go there again if we have an issue with our service. I prefer dealing with someone in person rather than dealing with hold times on the phone. I spent at least an hour in the store trying to return an unopened iPhone that was ordered and had to be mailed from Austin, Texas. It was a long and painful experience and they are going to charge a $35 restocking fee even though the phone did not arrive as quickly as they said it would. I have not received credit for the returned phone after one week. I was told I would get an email receipt for the return, but it never came. I have a hand written receipt that I asked for. Impossible to get through to someone at Comcast. I've tried to call the store and they never answer the phone. It goes to voice mail which has said "voice mail is full" for several weeks now. Sean at the Xfinity store does not keep his mask over his nose. The mask was too small for his face. I had to ask him several times to put it over his nose. I went in yesterday to change 4 lines from another server to xfinity mobile. The process itself was a headache but the employees were very patient and helpful through the whole process. Nevertheless, I had to make two trips because of the account numbers that I didn't know, but we were able to continue from where we left off yesterday. The employees are Excellent patient guys. First, I love my Comcast internet connection. It truly is fast and reliable. But the TV services and sales practices...Yikes! Am I another step closer to "cutting the cord," and retaining Comcast for ISP only? Yes. And when 5G comes, look out Comcast! But I digress. The true issue here is the conduct of the franchisee employees at this store in Evanston. I must say that the people are nice at this store. The equipment is cool. That's how I gave them the first star. Otherwise, DO NOT TRUST THEM! This store is run by a "franchisee" called LetsGoMobile. The sales people lied about the new plan that they were selling me (on some kind of heavy incentive plan?). They said that the cost would be $170 (plus taxes) monthly, and include ALL of the channels and subscriptions that I had in my prior package. In reality, it was over $225 (plus taxes) monthly, and was missing several channels and subscriptions that I had in my prior package. When I went back 3 days later to try to straighten it out, asking them to restore the channels that they took away, they said that they could not do so. Additionally, they said that they could not honor the rate that I was quoted. They said that any further questions had to be answered by a Comcast employee, either on the phone or at the a store owned by Comcast. They said they had no access to my account, to affirm the rate that I was being charged, or to check on my prior packages. So, a cable nightmare? You bet. I guess I have another reason to "cut the cord." Or most of it, anyway. Comcast, you do yourself no favors by allowing such unethical conduct by your franchisees/agents. I tried returning my modem/router to this store and I instantly got attitude from the woman behind the counter (cashier AZH). I waited for over 20 minutes as they appeared to be doing nothing and when I started to inquire about the time, they said that "we good". When I said they we aren't good, they reluctantly took my modem back and gave me a receipt. Fast forward a month later....My bill still shows me renting the modem and I had to spend over an hour sorting this out with an Xfinity agent who was in another state. Oh, don't bother trying to call the Evanston store directly because they purposely don't post a direct number anywhere. For your inconvenience you have to walk into the store to talk to these people. Xfinity is by the far the biggest scam when it comes to ISP's. This store is like all the others. This one as well. If you're currently an Xfinity customer you know how horrible the service is and how quickly and regularly they will add on ridiculous fees and charges that you'll later have to waste time out of your work day to dispute. They will never have a manager or supervisor to speak to when you call in. When you come into the store when you're not a customer they'll treat you very different than when you are a customer. As a customer you're a magnet for fees and charges that are erroneous. I called in today and waste over 80 mins to dispute two fake charges and after a hour the rep admitted she was in the wrong screen and looking at the prior customer who had called in. I've been an Xfinity customer for over 3 years and it's always been this terrible and like you I didn't believe it before I signed up. read more

My boyfriend and I spent hours on the phone trying to use the very frustrating and unresponsive automated customer service to fix a mistake Comcast made with my address, so we decided to go into the store in Evanston to talk to a human. No luck. We ask the guy at the counter & he tells us to call the customer service, and literally walks away from us so that he can watch the TV at the front of the store. I had been frustrated for exactly four days - four days that I was without TV - and I was ready to give up my Xfinity service and go with another provider. I had had the Xfinity internet/TV service for only 10 months, and I couldn't figure out why I suddenly wasn't able to watch television anymore. Though I still had internet, I tried repeatedly to reset my modem and Flex Box, which were techniques that had always worked in the past whenever I had trouble with my TV service. But this time, no matter how much I unplugged and/or hard-reset my modem, my TV wouldn't show any programs. I tried using the chat feature on both my phone and my desktop computer to speak with Xfinity tech support, but because I was on Wi-Fi only I would get disconnected whenever they tried to help me troubleshoot - I didn't have the option to use a landline phone as I don't use that service. Because I was finally fed up, I unplugged my Flex Box and modem and took everything back to a physical store, which was located 10 minutes away from me. I was glad that I could still come into an actual, physical location as I had had enough of trying to talk to Xfinity Customer Service via chat; all I wanted was a real person with whom I could talk, and I resented having to go through chat or email to reach someone... IF I could reach anyone at all. Fortunately for me Kevin, the store manager, was on duty that evening. I conveyed how upset, angry, and frustrated I was with my Xfinity service; however, he took the time to actually listen to my concerns, and patiently paid attention while I explained my entire situation. He then suggested that I not cancel the service but to try using updated equipment instead. Had he not been so patient and understanding while listening to my complaint I would have walked out right then and there, but because he was so courteous and willing to listen I felt that I should at least try his advice. He provided me with a brand-new Flex Box complete with the necessary equipment - new remote, new modem, etc. As he handed the items to me he asked me if I was aware that Xfinity provided cell phone service. My guard went up immediately as I felt that this was one more sales pitch that I didn't care to hear; however, because Kevin was so helpful - and patient - I figured that I could give him a few more minutes of my time. I was already using Verizon Wireless services directly, so when Kevin explained that it was the same company that provided cell service to Xfinity customers, he had my attention. I learned that I didn't have to change phones or even change my phone number, which I was unwilling to do since I had had the same phone number for over 15 years. Reluctantly I asked how much this service would cost me. When he told me the amount I was floored - not because it was more, but because it was MUCH LESS than what I was already paying! I actually thought that I misheard him so I asked him to repeat himself. But no, I'd heard right - what I would pay for cell service through Xfinity would save me over $80.00 EACH MONTH! At first I didn't believe it as I was waiting for Kevin to tell me that there was a "catch" or some other service that I'd have to pay for if I wanted the "savings". But to my actual surprise there was no catch or "fine print" at all - I was so amazed that I was very reluctant to believe him. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak, but when he assured me that he was being honest it still took me several minutes to let it sink in. I still wouldn't have believed him, but because he was the store manager I assumed that he was telling me the truth - and he was! As it turned out, I did need to update my cable equipment, so not only did he solve my initial problem with my TV service, but he also saved me a HUGE amount of money on my cell phone service, which in these times, is crucial as many have been hard-hit by the pandemic, myself included. read more
