Went into Xfinity store in Emeryville to review my service plan and was assigned to a sales rep from either India or Pakistan based on his name. From the get beginning ,I had a bad feeling, as the first thing he asks me was who is my cell phone provider. I politely declined to provide him the information and told him I am there to lower my cable and internet bill. He insisted I change my phone before he will extend any discounts, otherwise I am wasting his time and made veiled threats about releasing my personal information. I always receive great service at this location! The latest help that I received was from one of the manager, David Torres. He solved my slow internet issue quickly and has a good temperament for busy store with many customers. I have a large amount of files so he recommended a faster internet plan which worked! The manager here seems to be on a power trip. There are clear signs to stop at the door for service, which I did... However, the manager called out and demanded I stop despite the fact that I already was. He asked my business and then denied my return of a router because I didn't have a tace covering. The order isn't in effect until April 22 in order to enable those unable to find a face covering (due to monopolies, shortages, etc) to get one. This is reasonable and makes sense on the surface, but his treatment of the situation was not. The fact that he only stated this order after he realized I wasn't going to buy anything seemed greedy and inconsistent. Plus, I could have easily set the router down (untouched except for by gloves) and left for him to retrieve it. A return of an Xfinity router takes less than a minute and just involves scanning a barcode. But since I wasn't spending money here, they chose to evoke moral superiority to deny it. It was clear I did not have a face covering; I am still trying to find or make one, something many lower-class people can relate to as the wealthier hoard and scalp masks. They could have stated that outright instead of wasting everyone's time in pursuit on a purchase. It's pretty disgusting to pretend to care about a pandemic when your actions don't match your words. I went to the Xfinity on E 9th St and set the router on a rolling cabinet, more than six feet away from an employee. They handled the return very professionally and without social contact. This is by far the worst store I have ever experienced. Not only did the agent at the store mess up transferring my phone number to a new phone, but they also made my business phone number inoperable. It took 5 hours for me to get it operating again. I became angry at the mistake, and admittedly spoke rudely to the associate, who proceeded to purposefully escalate until I, a woman was being physically threatened, and reduced to tears. The manager tried to calm me down, and promised a $50 credit, and a call from the district manager. The district manager did nothing and promised to give the associate "more training." Not only that, but I never received the credit. Xfinity is literally the worst company to get mobile service from. If you can, avoid it at all costs. Especially this store! read more

Look, Comcast is already widely recognized to be the worst of the worst in business. But customer service died the day Ana was hired here. I was being helped by a kind gentleman (please give Deshaun a raise!) when she jumped in voluntarily and spoke so disrespectfully to me that I nearly lost all civility and exploded into the Hulk. So completely devoid of all communication skills my jaw dropped. It's bad enough I had multiple phone and chat representatives give me bad information and repeatedly pass the buck on fraudulent charges that they sent to collections. I was directed to go into the store and then had to deal with additional frustration and lack of professionalism. Thankfully Deshaun recognized the rage in my eyes, gracefully de-escalated the situation, and patiently took care of my issue. Now THAT is customer service! Comcast can go to hell though. read more

My sister decided to visit this store, while we were in the area, since she wasn't having much luck at our local store in Concord with her issues with billing. I was just tagging along but mentioned I needed to replace my remote control because the Voice Command option had stopped. Joyce Baker gladly offered to replace mine. After explaining my anxiety of switching mobile carriers and my issues @ Xfinity, Richmond store. This is for the douchbag checking people in. I came in just to return a modem and i had to be checked in. The other two employees were helping some difficult annoying customer. I was the only other customer when i showed up, but 20+ minutes later and 15 other customers waiting around. Someone finally got to me. The other guy was really nice. He took my modem and said i was all set. I asked him if he needed my account number, but he said he didn't. The i asked him how he would know it was me bringing it back. He said he would scan the item. The fu@&$!!! So, the asshole checker inner could have taken my modem and i could have been on my merry way instead of WASTING my whole day?.... because they just scan the bar code? You know if this short long haired idiot was more pleasant, maybe i wouldn't have felt inclined to write this. So annoyed!!!! read more

To be honest, Comcast customer service is usually pretty terrible. However, this is the first location I have been to outside of San Francisco proper so maybe that's where the problem lies. I waited less than 5 mins, Todd was great to work with. He answered all my questions and my account was settled in less than 30 mins. Also, not sure why but there was a DJ inside finishing up his set who had a fantastic playlist. I would recommend coming here before calling the customer service line if convenient for you. read more

This probably isn't the proper place to leave this review, but I'm not sure which is. My experience w/ the Comcast/Xfinity techs has been fabulous! The man who came out in January fixed the problem and was very nice in addition. Then a couple of months ago I had a modem problem. I thought it was a router problem, but ended up talking w/ tech support in Honduras and the young man taught me the difference between the router and the modem and walked me through the steps to fix the problem. Along the way we had a lovely conversation about travel. My most recent problem was that TNT disappeared from my channel guide so I couldn't see or record any of the nationally televised NBA games. Alan spoke w/ Comcast to assure it was still part of our package, because they had discontinued the package we had had. Even after that, TNT wasn't visible. Alan's hypothesis was that TNT had been moved to one of the channels he had hidden because we didn't watch them. I tried to figure out how to unhide them but kept hitting a dead end. Alan made arrangements for a tech to come out yesterday and Darius was the one. I knew enough to be able to explain to him what was going on and he fixed it! Sure enough, there was TNT at 1404. There are thousands of channels I will never watch, which is one of the reasons Alan hid them, the other being that he wouldn't either, but I can tolerate the inconvenience of scrolling through a raft of them to get from TNT to NBC Sports Bay Area, ESPN and ESPN2. Darius was a rock star and returned my NBA life to normal. He gave me his name and number to be sure he would be the one to return to help if I had a problem in the future. I feel very fortunate to have that kind of support. read more

I cancelled my xfinity service and specifically asked them if I needed to return this little white box modem thing, a little bigger than the palm of my hand. They said no. A month later they charged me $120 for "unreturned equipment." I tried to get a refund, the agent said oh yes our mistake due to a "technical issue." They assured me they refunded it, and it turned out to be a "credit" to my "account." I again pressed them to send me my money. They said they would send me a paper check in the mail, but it turned out they had the wrong address and we had to correct that too. Still waiting to see if I get that check in the mail. I then talked to another agent at length trying to make sure they delete my debit card information so they don't "accidentally" charge me for anything. I will never do business with xfinity again, I will give them no more excuses to "accidentally" scam me. Still waiting to see if they can do this for me or if there are more "technical issues" that involve them stealing from me. Xfinity is a bully and a parasite. read more

If you scroll down and look at the good reviews they are written by people who have written two reviews in their life and have no friends. These are most likely written by employees are fake. I purchased an Iphone 10X from these clowns about six months ago and it doesn't work. I went into the store and called their 1-800 number for help and both the store and the 1-800 people said tough luck you need to buy a new phone. This is how they resolve warranty issues. They say they will replace the phone during the first 14 days after that its tough luck. So their trash phones have a useful life of 14 days. read more

Comcast really finds ways to nickle and dime you! They gave us new cable boxes and told us to just plug them in to existing cable outlets. We did that and they did not work. They tried to do an online fix and nothing worked so they said they would send out a tech since they wanted to make sure we had a good experience. The tech came out and said the original cable outlets were not installed correctly and fixed them. Everything was fine until the bill arrived, we were charged $70 for the guy to fix their own cable outlets!!! It's not like we installed the cable in the house! They never said anything about charging for a tech to come out, they just said they would get their equipment up and running. I wasn't thinking about cutting the cord until now. read more

Since July 2022, this is when Comcast/Xfinity contracted a company to come in our apartment building to switch out the Amplifier to all the building. It was to make Internet service faster, instead it reverse the service to really bad speed and throughout the day the Internet was being disrupted for about 5 minutes and the wifi was 5G prior to July 2022. Since the disruption Xfinity own employees tried solving the issue two different times and lift the Amplifier exposed and the cables running in between several gas pipe lines. I am the property manager of this apartment building Claremont Towers Apartments, 5160 Claremont Avenue in Oakland CA. Good news since Xfinity doesn't want to solve their issue in our building, we are taking away Internet access away from them and having Sonic install Fiber-Optic in the building and we will be encouraging our renters to jump ship with Xfinity, btw my Xfinity Internet bill went from $50 prior to the Amplifier was replaced to $58 and now $62. FYI when you call Comcast/Xfinity 1-800 # there's a good chance you will reach their call centers in the Philippines or One of the Caribbean Islands that will have your personal information and your personal information is at risk. Hopefully you will see this, chances are with bad wifi service provided by Comcast/Xfinity will affect my ability to connect promptly, btw even the Mersea restaurant on SF's Treasure Island you can witness the poor Comcast/Xfinity connection they have with their Live Cam of San Francisco's skyline, on YouTube, you will see an posting of their live cam apologizing about the poor connection that Comcast/Xfinity has provided to that business. Came at almost 4 pm on a Monday. Professional greeting at the door, scanned my modem and gave me a return tag. Everyone working dressed in black, Xfinity does a good job at reminding you of the services they have. All the right alcoves of their various product lines. Clean and sleek. Customer Stations line each side of the store for customers to sit and talk to the Xfinity person behind the station full of the right equipment to get you handled. Until the service person calls you, the "X1 Experience" on a large flat screen TV at the center of the theatre like waiting room, keeps you entertained. So this sounds like a wonderful experience so far. NOT. I started seeing people who came after me who were getting helped ahead of me. I figured they are trying to find me a new modem because all these lovely matching dressed people are not busy, have not said one word to me, so it's not that they are too busy, they are mulling about even. I went up to the same desk at the entrance, different guy, looked me up and I wasn't there on the list. I was pretty pissed and showed him my ticket and he said we'll get someone right with you. Then that didn't happen so I just got up and paced and they eventually pointed at me and got this guy who didn't apologize for the wait, have me come to his lovely station. We spoke about 3 sentences, he reaches into his cabinet behind him, pulls out a new modem still in its plastic and hands it to me. I sarcastically said "really I waited an hour for this, you had it in a cabinet the whole time". He was really good at not engaging with me I'll give him that. Bottom line, great looking store and people to match, but horrible service. No presence of mind to scan the room and ask the customers if they've been helped. When I tried to give the acct # to the greeting guy, he said that's ok they'll get it from you when they call you up. Yeah if you put me in there to be called. He specifically asked my last name! What he didn't hit "return or enter". I don't personally have Comcast, this effort is for one of my short stay "Airbnb" type listings where internet is crucial. The end of the story was that the modem they gave me was worse than the one I returned. Spent hours at the property trying to bring things back up, had 3 troubleshooting calls with live people. Put up with various robots calls. Got the rudest guy when I called back after getting home and wasn't right at the modem....he tried to tell me he couldn't help me unless I was next to it. I said not exactly true and I really was calling to get a technician scheduled. He told me everything was fine on his end. I said something is wrong at the physical location. He transferred me to a WiFi specialist who listened and agreed with me and I have an appointment today. I don't think I'll ever be a fan of Comcast. I consider myself pretty proficient and able to talk with most technicians at their level. But they force the script on me and can't jump forward from that script (very linear thinking and I guess typical for a call center) One of my calls the guy was condescending, and at the basic level they didn't have the customer service to take any of the bad away. When he asked me if there is anything else they can do (part of the script), I said yes, help me get back into the Xfinity app so I don't need to call you guys. I said I am an authorized caller on this acct, originally you set up a way for me to log in with my own password that allows me to see my clients account without looking at her home acct, this is a rental property and when your app updated, it lost the login info, what's the format of the username and I'll try my typical passwords. He argued with me and I gave up. It's apparently a lost art, having the presence of mind to read your customer and appropriately speak to them and/or serve them so they walk away singing your praises. And for that reason I spent this long on a post to share my disappointment. They get 2 stars for looking nice as a store and that's all the stars are for. I'm a realtor, I believe curb appeal is everything and till I leave the earth, I'll give the customer service that I would love to receive myself. That's the golden rule, it's so easy. read more

I'm really annoyed in that I had been told by the store manager, 2 sales representatives that a bill that was owed was paid or discharged but in reality, hadn't been. I tried to work with the collection agency as well as the 4 visits to the store and presented the death certificate and was told each time by the store personnel that the bill was taken care of and if it hadn't come back to the store and did. Tried to call the store but you CAN'T nor can you get the email address of the person you talked with at the store. Very poor communication between the different departments and its costumer me. I would give less stars if I could. I came in Sunday morning and was greeted quickly. The young lady who "assisted" me seemed bored and irritated to be working. I asked a few questions and the response was "I'm not sure". Couldn't even be bothered to ask colleagues the question she couldn't answer. I wanted to upgrade my service and was told that I would need to pay $40 to have a technician come out because the service was disconnect. When I asked about this the girl says "Your wires have been cut". I asked how that could be and she said "That's what it says on the screen". I said forget it and left. Called Xfinity when I got home and was told something completely different by the wonderful Representative on the phone. Received my X1 Cable Box today and set it up with EASE! The store associate misrepresented the return policy for a Motorola phone I never ordered, and refused to allow me to return it. Before that they told me that they had to activate the phone in order for me to return. It's obviously a scam to sell an unpopular device and have it activated to get some sales credit. I had to call the customer service line to learn that the return window had not passed. read more

Worst experience ever. Due to Xfinity making error after error and untrained staff, I've spent over a week trying to hook up internet in my new place without success. Do not get Xfinity! Go with local people, like LMI or Monkeybrains. The local companies required some installation so I just went with Xfinity and it has been a complete nightmare. I'm signed into 12 months (despite still not having internet connection as I write this) but am canceling and switching to LMI as soon as I can without this disaster of a business fining me. read more
