Scam! Fraud! Theft! Don't let the Eastern European guy with curly brown hair take your trade-in, he is a crook! On September 22, 2025, I went to the Xfinity Store by Comcast at 3041 Butterfield Rd, Suite 101, Oak Brook, IL to transfer my cell service from AT&T to Xfinity. A salesperson told me I would receive a $999 trade-in credit that would make the new iPhone 17 Air essentially free over 12 months. I was instructed to trade in my iPhone 15 Pro and told I would receive a mailing label. I never received the label, so on September 29, 2025, I returned to the store and personally handed my iPhone 15 Pro to a store employee between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. When I asked if he needed my information to link the device to my account, he said, "No, I will take it from here." After hours of calls with Xfinity customer service with no help, I returned to the store on October 3. A different employee said the original salesperson did not enter the transaction correctly -- it was not logged as a mail-in trade-in -- and that the system had no record of my device. He further said they could not locate my phone and suggested it was likely taken by a store employee; he recommended they review store surveillance for the timeframe when I dropped it off. I have spent countless hours on the phone and via chat trying to resolve this. No credit has been applied, no documentation has been provided, and my account still shows installment charges for the new device: $999.99 with a balance of $958.33 and 23 remaining payments of $41.66. I entrusted Xfinity with my property and was promised a $999 credit -- instead my phone is stolen by an employee and am being billed for the new device without the offset. My total unresolved financial harm is approximately $2,000. This behavior amounts to fraud and theft in my experience. Xfinity has failed to investigate, failed to review the store's surveillance footage, and failed to provide a resolution. Consumers should be wary when completing trade-ins at this location until this matter is resolved. read more

AVOID this location if possible. Two months ago we came in for a line transfer. The staff told us it was completed, but when we checked our account our lines and billing were missing. When we returned, they admitted the transfer was done incorrectly and our lines were stuck "in limbo." They asked us to come back after the weekend so they could work on it. When we did, nothing had been done, and we spent another two hours in the store with no resolution. We explained to the manager that we were concerned about losing service (we didn't have access to pay our bill) since we rely on our phones for work. He assured us that wouldn't happen. It did (shocker). Customer service couldn't fix the issue either. Now we're back at the same store with no phone service, and the same runaround where no one here knows how to fix the issue they created and kind of just look at us like ‍. read more

The staff at this Xfinity store was incredibly kind to me last weekend when I was there to cancel my father's account. They went out of their way to make the process easy and quick--when you're settling a family member's affairs, you require patience and kindness. The staff really went above and beyond in helping me. Honestly the most dehumanizing company with no regards to "service and people" whatsoever. A few months back, a family member passed away. I was the only one left to clean their home out and discovered they had Xfinity. I brought their equipment back to the store and requested all services shut off and was assured no bills, charges etc. Now I'm receiving past due bills for him and the customer service team is stating that since the service dates were for the 1 day before he died until the 29 days after, I'M RESPONSIBLE for the bill. Nobody used any service and Xfinity had the equipment for basically the entire billing cycle. I refuse to pay for a bill for 1) I never used services and 2) for a person that is DECEASED that never used the services during the time of billing as they were in a hospital bed fighting for their life. Trying to explain this to the "CUSTOMER SERVICE" team and all they keep saying is that I'm responsible for the bill. Heartless, cold, disgusting company. If you're considering using Xfinity- DON'T. Absolutely despicable how they treat customers and potential customers. I'm glad I never personally used them as a service- I would never willingly pay this company for anything. By the way- the person at the store was kind and helpful and I place no blame on them. Apparently this is all related to billing and their incompetence when an account is closed. Apparently a death certificate isn't enough to stop trying to collect on a balance. This place gives off major DMV and Post Office vibes. Having visited twice in the last week, once to pick up my internet modem/router and cable box and second time to exchange my cable box, I can tell you I will be dreading life if I have to go back in for anything else. My first visit was pleasant initially. Nice greeting at the front desk to direct you where you need to go (equipment pickup or return, mobile services, or purchasing equipment). Once in line, there were two people ahead yet lots of frustration and back and forth between the current folks being helped. Probably waited another half hour to pick up my stuff, yet the line behind me had grown significantly and you could tell just a lot of very frustrated customers waiting their turn to go off. After initial visit, no issues setting up my internet modem/router by myself at home, but the cable box was an entire different story. After a week of on and off cable service and back and forth with their support agents via phone and through their app, ended up requesting a new cable box without a coaxial cable. Definitely would recommend this option if you opted for unlimited internet as it was a breeze to setup. Initially the first time I was in, they mentioned the first cable box needed to be plugged into a cable wire, but I've for sure in past had a minimal box without it. Only took a week of complaining to get my way. Second visit was much quicker going in early afternoon opposed to closer to the 5pm off work hour. Seeing a lot of the same cable boxes sitting around that I was about to exchange, I made a bit of a snarky comment to the agent helping me, "looks like a lot of people have been exchanging these cable boxes out, you think there's an issue with it?" He kind of brushed me off and didn't say anything to me. No greeting good bye or instructions on how I should go about setting it up. Full expecting some BS service charge or fee on my account for swapping the boxes. We shall see. Anyways, maybe not all the blame goes on this particular store but more so Xfinity as a whole. Large company and only service providers of true high speed internet in the western burbs. I'm gonna pray another company can come in and offer high speed internet service in the next two years, not looking forward to those services rates after my initial contract is up. [This may be appropriate for ALL Xfinity stores.]. Two important considerations when planning to visit an Xfinity store: 1. MAKE AN ONLINE APPOINTMENT. While they accept un-scheduled walk-ins, on days when they are busy, you WILL be waiting because they (rightfully!) take scheduled customers first. On my last drop-in visit, I waited over 1/2 hour & had to leave before being called because of a more pressing appointment. (This was during the lunch hours, so a longer wait should have been anticipated by me). On a SCHEDULED follow-up visit, I was taken almost immediately as I signed in at the front desk. 2. Do NOT expect the Xfinity store staff to help with troubleshooting issues. They are ill-prepared to answer such inquiries. They are there to enroll customers, handle regular account issues, and hand-out and/or exchange equipment. The ONLY time one of their staff gave me an answer to a technical issue I was having, he "said" he sent a code to my gateway to "solve" the issue. But it didn't! I eventually had to CALL Xfinity's tech support to schedule an onsite visit, where the visiting tech took only 5 minutes to contact another resource to "send a code" to my gateway ... and that IMMEDIATELTY solved the issue. read more

I had one guy tell me that it would be a 10 minute wait and it ended up being an half hour. There was only 2 employee's helping customers while the others stood around talking. Stressed out beyond belief. I was misinformed about the price of Xfinity mobile per line. I double checked and the incorrect quote was confirmed. I was also offered a phone as a bonus, which turned out out to to be untrue. When I received the phone and logged on to Comcast account, the mobile services price turned out to be twice as high per line. Now I'm trying to return the phone. I spent 5 hours (2 calls) on the phone being transferred to different tiers of support. I was sent to the xfinity store (Oakbrook) only to be told that they cannot accept returns and to call again and ask for a return label sent via email. Hours later, I was told I would get an email with the trouble ticket within 30 min since they had issues creating a label. No trouble ticket in the email. Spent almost 3 hours in a chat late at night, waiting for them to fix the issue and generate the return label that was promised to receive today in the e-mail. Thus far, nothing. I detest Comcast and their poor customer service, but this is beyond anything I have ever experienced. I do not want their mobile service or their phone. I am stuck with their internet service since in this part of Wheaton there are not other options. It is horrid I was misled and that I spent so much time trying to return the phone received last Wednesday night. I wish I could give zero stars. Data charges were exceeding $250 per month and unlimited data was too slow to be useful. Switched to T-Mobile in late June 2022. Xfinity very unhelpful making the transition but finally made the switch for 2 phones. Xfinity has continued to charge me $47 monthly for one line. Went to Oak Brook store today. Frustrating experience. Advice to my colleagues: don't opt for autopay and forget online customer service. read more

Ok, past experience with Comcast has been less than zero over the last 30 years, but today, I was completely turned "about face" and must say, at least at this location, the service was exceptional! Made an appointment beforehand and arrived a few minutes early. Checked in and within two minutes, I was called on. Met with Lorenzo, who I can't say enough about. His personality, attention to our complaints and needs were outstanding. After a brief description of our service problems he took all of our old equipment in, issued all new equipment and took his time explaining every aspect of our Comcast experience. I never get sold add ons, but after Lorenzo went through every item of our services, we signed up for security services and other tech needs. Really can't give enough credit to all the employees we encountered on today's visit; Lorenzo, Tami and Giuseppe, all of them deserve a job well done an due to their interactions with us, we are now back in the Comcast family after seriously considering leaving for a competitor. Whole appointment took only a few minutes and self install of all new equipment was seamless and easy. Well done! Keep up the great customer service Comcast Oakbrook. read more

I am regretfully trying Xfinity cable/internet again due to the coronavirus pandemic and stuck with it for 12 months. I called about a $40 dollar package I was told equipment was $14 and $5 tax is $2.35 My bill came and is $75.05 There was a mix up with the shipping of my equipment and I was told to sign a text and I would need to return the extra equipment and then my bill would be what I was originally told. It's taken at least 7 hours to talk to an actual person. Do not trust this company. read more
