I went to this location a week ago trying to upgrade my phone and change my number. I understand with covid not many people allowed to be in the same place. They only would let one person in or primarily account holder. I wanted my husband to help me decide on a new phone unfortunately they didn't let him in which that sucked but it was understandable. I asked the lady I also wanted to change my number she told me I had to call customer service to do all that. At first I was confused because isn't that their job to provide new phone with a new number? I was frustrated because the lady seem to be in a rush so I walked out and left. I ended up going to xfinity in emeryville. I loved their customer service. I know a five star review of Comcast seems unfathomable but let me tell you why the new Comcast store receives such high marks. As I prepare for Fall TV '11, I needed to get a second HD DVR. I called 1-800 Comcast and was quoted $8 for another box and $14.99 for another HD DVR. A little too pricey, especially when I've been paying an average of $160-180 a month for the last seven years. I decided to go down to the new store and Danielle took a look at my account and took her time reviewing my account unlike the nameless employee working the call center. She informed me of some discounts I could take advantage of. Suffice to say, I was given more channels and a new AnyRoom HD DVR along with two additional HD DVR boxes for a price difference of $4! Granted, not anyone can get this offer, since promotions and bundles vary from account to account. However, I was greatly appreciative of the time the employee took into looking to my account, especially when Comcast isn't the cheapest alternative, but quite possible the best. read more

Walked in and signed up for the waiting list, waited for 20 minutes. Once they called me up and spoke to one of the representatives after explaining to the lady that for two months I have been waiting on my alarm system and due to their errors I haven't been able to get it. I said I wanted to start fresh to make sure they got it right this time. I told her I would like to make sure I would get the $99.00 technician credit for everything I have been dealing with the last two months. She then said I would need to talk to a manager for that and she would put me on a list to speak to her. Waited another 30 minutes and finally spoke to Melissa . Again I explained to her the situation, she said she couldn't give me the credit after setting up the alarm system I would need to call billing , she had looked at my account and said on your record it shows they gave you the credit for the issues you dealt with before. By this point I had been there for an hr. I told her ok let's start over and I'll get everything set up again. She then tells me ok I'll put you on the list for someone to help you. I was like are you kidding I've been here for over an hour you can't help me with the alarm system? She said no I can't, I just left at this point I was so upset. I did not know this would ever happen but I am going out on a limb and give Comcast a 5 star rating. Unlike the last time I was at this location and got the worst customer service ever, today was golden. I walked into the store to exchange my old remotes for 2 new ones, and I noticed all the seats were taken so I stood by the door and hope someone would acknowledge me. Believe it or not within 2 minutes this nice young man came up to me asked how he could help me. I informed him I was there to trade my old remotes for 2 new ones. He told me to hang on and he would be right back. In less than a minute he brought me my 2 new remotes and I was out the door in less than. 5 minutes. Normally I'm very frustrated when dealing with the cable companies. I was feeling that way when I walked into the door of Comcast today. After Zach Strause worked with me, I left a very happy customer. He was kind, courteous, fast, and more than efficient. Ironically their Internet went down while I was there, but he quickly made sure that I was able to leave and would follow up with me later to make sure I was taken care of. I'm very happy to have left Comcast for the 2nd time. They are pure evil. Their techs would come to my area and just unplug everyone taking down my and my neighbors internet, and then not plug the cables back, citing 'noise in the area'. Then I would have to pay a $50 service call for another tech to come out and re-connect my line only to confirm that there is no trouble or noise on it. Unconscionable to treat paying customers like this. to say the least. Comcast also regularly will unplug your connection in the area to replace it with a newer customer's connection at the junction box, just so they can give priority to that new customer with a better faster connection. A lot of dumb reviews about this Comcast office, you can tell half the people have not even been to the office and just want to rant the same "awful Comcast" song. You can have your opinions about the company in general but this location is fine, I've been there 3 times and in all cases service was great and the staff was actually very polite. Cable service itself is decent enough, don't recommend doing anything lower than the minimum HD box.. especially if you have the new smart TVs because quality sucks on standard cable with a standard box. There is a phenomenal service rep in the back.. Jason (I think..I know his name starts with a "J" and he is the only lively one in the building!) is a wonderful help and a refershingly upbeat human being to deal with especially in regards to something that can be such a pain in the rear.. I had to come back to this location 3x in one day.. switching from standard cable box to HD cable box.. first set I was given sparked, spit fire and blew the breaker.. after further inspection the copper cord was half exposed and seemingly chewed through on one end.. thought we were getting a new product, but apparently it was refurbished horribly. So we took that wire back to get it replaced (you would think this would be an easy switch as they have the equipment data in their system).. it wasn't and so they finally handed us what should've been the correct cord for the product we were given not even an hour earlier.. get it back to the house and it doesn't even fit. This time we bring everything back and they swap it out completely for a new set of items... I am one of those people that checked in, but refused to wait again after having been to the store 2x already at this point.. and I announced exactly what I was doing and why. I was in-and-out in 10mts this time.. with what ended up being all the correct and working items! Of course, I got on the phone with Comcast because I had to initiate my new HD service signal now that the box was installed.. while I was there I decided to voice my opinion on the matter that occurred today. They offered me one time $10 off to which I promptly said I spent more than that in gas going back in forth 3x.. so then she offered FREE HBO.. which I already have... (very helpful..) so I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, which she did... he rudely cut me off while I was explaining what occured and told me I had 4 options.. one time $15 off, $5 off for 12 months ($60), FREE HBO, or FREE HBO since I already have HBO... better than nothing I suppose.. but W O W.. I'd tell people to choose someone else even if it as a bit more each month just off the crap customer service that Comcast has... Internet service is supposed to be super fast and amazing and it catches and hiccups almost every time we use it at home.. so when we move, we are definitely choosing another carrier, PERIOD. This location is well prepared for Cov-19. Each representative wears a face mask and works behind a clear plastic shield. The store is very clean and well organized. At the door a representativr will greet you and take down you name and will call you when it's your turn. I visited the store to renew my subscription. Mr. Juan Guerra helped me to set up a new contract in less than 5 minutes time. I am very pleased with the service and effieciency of this store. read more

Just...... terrible. Paying for overpriced internet service. Started off OK then got slow as molasses. Paid for faster service. Got faster then slowed down again. Paid for their top speed service. Better for awhile and now just awful. Bought the expander pods; marginal improvement. Bought more expander pods.... no significant improvement. Paying top dollar for pathetic speeds..... my smart devices are constantly having to be reconnected because internet keeps dropping. Xfinity by comcast has the worst service ever. I picked up a small box for my fourth, small tv at the Richmond store. When I got it home and hooked it up with a splitter, it knocked out my Gateway, my house phone and my computer. after two months of paying the extra ten dollars a month with no TV service in that room, I called the Comcast store and they sent someone out to connect it. The installer said the splitter was outdated so he connected it with a different connection. It worked for a week so I called again and reac hed someone in the Philipines and they gave me a date for an installer to come at between 10 and 12 noon. By 12:15 pm I called and after wasting my day the service rep said she sees no record of an appointment for me an agreed to schedule another appointmet and waive the 39.00 fee for my trouble and being a long time customer. Well 2 days later they took $162.00 out of my bank account, even though I don't have automatic deductions and the next day billed me for another $328.00 for God knows what. Needless to say I will have no service at all before I pay this. My monthly bill is already too much at 228.00. Will call tomorrow to see if another non- English speaking Rep can make this even worse before I go to ATT. will follow up on Yelp. read more

The two people who helped me were great. Juan, one of the reps and Zack, who I guess was the manager. Zack was very personable. High energy, without being obnoxious. The overall vibe of the store is positive. You don't get the impression that the employees would rather be somewhere else or that they're all stressed out. This Comcast store is run pretty efficiently. I like that they have a touch screen sign-up system once you walk in, as well as a video screen above it listing the people ahead of you waiting for assistance. The seating area was comfortable as well. It was one of the reps' birthday today, so Zack announced to the store that it was her birthday. In hindsight, I should have clapped or said something, since none of the other customers reacted in anyway either. Hopefully the b-day rep had good day. I had to come into the store because I got no where by talking to someone on the phone. Finally they were able to figure out that I never received a paper bill. So this was part of the confusion. Both managers whose name coincidently are named Anthony walked away, the first one never came back or gave a reason for leaving. The young lady who initially tried to help me just stood by. She couldn't explain the confusion in their billing. As managers they showed a complete lack of respect to me as a costumer, acting as if I was just not intelligent enough to understand. However I came in today and wound up with Raymond, I am not sure if Raymond was having a bad day or was upset he was working Saturday. Why Comcast hired this guy to do customer service I'll never understand. Raymond could not tell me why my bill had jumped up from 126 to 194 he told me that "you ordered a bunch of movies" I ordered 3 Raymond at 5.99 a movie times 3 is 17.97. 17.97 plus 126.00 does not add up to 194.00. I asked him well who do I talk to about this because this does not add up. He told me "what? I can't give you a magic telephone number" I asked for a manager he ignored my request (probably because I was not his first complaint about his surly attitude) I told him my HBO was not working and asked if he could look into that? Oh Raymond to the rescue! (NOT) he told me" you never had a HBO and I don't know what you want me to do about it?" "It will be 10 dollars more, do you want me to add it or not?" He was visibly getting very frustrated with me at this point, I kept asking him. "bro, what's with the attitude" he would reply "I am not giving attitude, do you want the HBO or not?" I even took the blame at this point by saying "I am sorry that I am not effectively communicating that I got a package that included HBO" I then asked again "is this something you handle or do I need to call customer service?" His profound response was "if that what you want to do, whatever , but they are not going to tell you anything different" I called customer service and got it straightened out even got my bill lowered. Comcast I blame you, because you have not trained Raymond that customer service entails meeting your customers needs in a professional kind and helpful manor. Worst service ever. A comcast rep should really be checking on the workers to make sure they are meeting customer service skills. They are rude, disrespectful and not helpful at all. We went to ask questions and they couldn't give us a answer. A guy named Juan was very rude to my mother and of course i had to put him in check. If you don't like people or don't like dealing with people then you are in the wrong job. Why even work at comcast if you can't answer a simple question politely? I got in touch with the corporate office of comcast and hopefully this guy gets fired. No one deserves to be treated like a piece of trash or be disrespected. If I could give 0 stars I would. I HATED COMCAST. Read below my issues... It got to the point where I documented and recorded All Communication for potential future litigation. I will NEVER do COMCAST again. I would rather use Netflix and Sonic Internet. So far they are reliable. And my DIRECTV is hands down the best service I've had. Tons of channels, high quality HD, little to no outages. And great customer service. My attempts to cancel and be free from Comcast has been such a headache and consumed so much if my time, not to mention the added stress of receiving bills in the mail despite canceling my service 6 weeks prior. Excuse the grammar and short hand notes, they're not intended to be complete sentences FYI. I don't want to spend anymore time than I need to, I just thought I would warn others to STAY AWAY FROM COMCAST COMCAST DISPUTE Called 9/10 - Called to Cancel, transferred to loyalty dept., said service will be shut off 9/16. Called 9/17 - Account has been turned off, will see some residual for a few days but not paying for that. Don't worry, only will be billed for used services. Called 9/24 - Takes a few days eff date was noted as 9/16, $50.08 was only thing owed. If I pay that it will be paid in full with no issues (96 and chance total bill). 10/07 - Well that's your perogative sir... Checked online bill and it was 145. Billed for unpaid balance (despite told not billed after 9/16). Spoke to Jose who said it shows clear. Req to speak to floor supervisor. Explained how last time I was told "system still hasn't updated yet," and prior to that I was told "system hasn't updated." Which was sox 3-4 week diff. Only owe $3.47 now. Kelton (ID: Q2). Only bill they send will be 0 balance. I received the first bill after canceling because system hasn't updated. Unsure why I received the second bill with the $46 as unpaid balance when I didn't have service. No explanation as to why this bill had HBO service when I didn't have HBO service prior to canceling. Should update within 24 hours and Internet account will reflect $0 balance. read more

Very, very, very poor customer service. I can't even say "customer service skills" because there is no skill with them providing any. I got there at like 12:45pm on Friday, 11/27. The lady working the front doesn't even say hello. In an unfriendly tone, she just says "wait over there." When it was my turn, she said "why are you here?" When I was finally called by a rep, she said my address loud enough for everyone to hear. I told her "I would prefer you do not say our address out loud." In also an unfriendly tone, she said "I have to verify it. That's why I do that." Maybe if her tone was different or said something like, "oh I'm sorry, but I do have to verify it's your account." Fast and friendly service my remote was no longer working so I headed over and there was a nice african-american young gentlemen who greeted us and assisted us as soon as we walked in very polite! When over the phone Xfinity has stated they where having a sale of 95$. It is not fair for them to want to help people out.
