The response from Tech support was always the same - unplug the power cord and replug. If that doesn't do it then they will reset it remotely and if that doesn't work you may have to replace the DVR. After a call to customer service and a lot of strong persuasive discussion, a replacement was sent. After 2 months of use, other issues with lost recordings and a week of no service and continued power on / off ghost events, I called again and said I'm done and will shop for a replacement company. Of course my bill went up significantly as the 24 month term was over and the customer service representative said there were no discounts available even if I re-upped to a 24 month commitment. So after comparing all the other offerings out there on a price and channel selection matrix made with the help of ChatGPT, I was prepared to move on. I made my last call in to to cancel the system and on the other end of the call was a wonderful woman who answered my call; Michelle in the Phoenix retention department. She was so helpful and felt my pain. We spoke for a while and she addressed my concerns. Fast forward: I'm back with Dish for 2 more years because of Michelle period.
