Terrible service. Modem says online (4 lights), EERO has its white light (online) but service stalls. Speedtest shows over 500ms on upstream. The whole 100+ ms on downstream is crazy for cable. I had Verizon Fios and we were at 12ms on the downstream... AND IT WORKED! image attached is the speeds for the 1 gig service... wtf right? Imagine a cable company shows up the next day after you call him to hook up cable but the following day when it stops working, they tell you they can't come back for a week. So after you cancel the service, they keep coming back and cutting up your yard and spray painting all over your property trying to install underground wires for a service. Worst service ever. We have been with them since 2019. Never had a problem until Dec 2025, when I received a text telling me my service would be out for a few hours. The internet has not been on since that date. I drove down from PA, it's a 3.5 hour drive, had a service tech come in, he replaced my modem. He still could get the internet to work, he called other technician to come to my home. They showed up told him it was the lines from outside my home and i was told that someone would be over within the next week to replace the outside lines. We have outdoor cameras we can see around our home but they havent worked since Dec 15,2025. Today, Feb 16,2026 i call mediacom to complain again about the service, telling them i will noy pay for service i am not recieving and they tell me now that i have to have a tech appt for them to replace our lines. I was not told this before. They suggested i have a family member go down to meet their tech, my family all live in Pa., or have a neighbor meet the tech, our neighbors do not have keys to my home! I asked the call center supervisor for a credit for service not rendered and he tells me he cant authorize that, it has to be the technician supervisor to do that. I am fed up with the run around I am getting! To top it off i was charged for phone service for over a year, that I never agreed to. I did get a credit for that. I am a longstanding customer of Mediacom who is once again disappointed with the poor service I receive. I scheduled an appointment on May 24th for service on May 25th between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. I awakened early on the day of my appointment and waited. At 11:50 am on that day, I received a call; answered it on the third ring; and no one was on the other end of the line. Immediately thereafter, I received a text message with a cancellation notice. I called Mediacom and was told the technician called in sick. It has been a nightmare dealing with MediaCom to get our internet service hooked up. It is over a month now and they still have not activated the service in my area. There have been technicians in and out of the area, and occasionally we are told the service is active. Then we are told by someone else that it is not active. Since relocating to Delaware, we have been using Mediacom Xtream for TV & Internet for about 14 months. Prior to that we had used Verizon Fios and Comcast/Xfinity. During the majority of the time we have had Mediacom, the quality of TV and Internet performance has been very good to excellent, and the quality of technical support has been excellent. Pricing was slightly higher than we have paid for similar service in the past, but comparable. However, since our initial honeymoon period ended (after 12 months) the price has jumped by 20%, and the quality of service has plummeted. In the past week, there were two days when Internet service was completely down for several hours, and two additional days when it was out repeatedly for multiple short 10-15 minute periods throughout much of the day. Technical support is still very good, but on a house call to "upgrade" my service a couple months ago, the tech was going to replace my TV set top box with a new wireless-only box (i.e. no hardwire Ethernet connection) and I declined--choosing to keep my current hardware instead. While going wireless/WiFi is very versatile and convenient when it is working well, it makes no sense at all for Mediacom to abandon the Ethernet connection--which is by far the fastest, best, and most reliable interface--altogether. That technical decision by Mediacom is bound to cause them headaches in the future and result in a long term decrease in customer satisfaction. I am glad I was able to stop the tech before making that change on my home network. If the price did not increase by as much as it did after the first year (sort of a backhanded anniversary "gift" from Mediacom!) I would find it easier to overlook the performance issues and the attempt to implement an arguably unwise technical migration (to a wireless-only network) on my network. Unfortunately, in coastal Delaware there is currently no competition for the internet and TV business. Still, I I would hesitate to recommend Mediacom with any degree of enthusiasm, and I will be looking to replace them at the earliest opportunity. read more

I have unfortunately been a Mediacom customer for many years and they are still without a doubt the worst internet service provider you could ever imagine. I would do anything for Verizon Fios to be in my area, but sadly we are held hostage by this nightmare of a company. Their customer service department is next to impossible to get ahold of and when you do get through, the service reps are usually snotty and unwilling to do anything you need from them. Service itself is sub-par at best and good luck for when you WILL have problems. At my last house, I swear we had to have Mediacom out to address their crap service no less than 30 times in 6 years. It was always dropping out several times a day and no one could ever get it corrected. Now I needed them to email me a copy of an invoice from two months ago because we just moved and as a result, their website has completed erased all of our prior records. The rep said she would have to mail it to me or I would have to drive to the closest store to have it printed. Seriously, an internet/communications company who can't send a freaking EMAIL when it was their very own site that erased all of my records. Not my fault, but of course it's me that will have to jump through hoops to get a copy of my bill. Mediacom truly is a joke, always have been, always will be. File a complaint with the FCC. Complaining won't do anything. EVERYONE needs to file an official complaint with the FCC. That is the only way they will be required to update their equipment and services. It is very easy to do. Just click on the website (provided) and choose internet and follow the prompts. They are mandated by law to respond from corporate to every FCC complaint. The more the FCC gets involved, the faster the solution. Please be proactive. This has been the worst experience. My internet connection is very poor. Their customer service refused to fixed the problem stating it was the builders wiring that caused the problem. The technician said we could pay them to come back to reinstall wiring and after have them cancel two appointments they mysteriously said they could not fix it. Meanwhile, the last two days the Internet shut down completely and then I have to keep rebooting it's it's not the wiring. It works some days it shuts off a couple times but the last two days it's been horrible so it's has to be their service not the wiring in my house, this is ridiculous. I called for a credit and was told they would give me $6.77. My bill is over $225 monthly. I told them they needed the $6 more than I do, and that their offer was insulting. I could even understand to internet going out once a month, which is a lot, but with Mediacom the internet goes out at least 3-4 times a week..... I ditched Mediacom as a TV provider due to their poor product delivery. Channels would go black for days on end, no sound for days, pixelation, very poor product. I retained mediacom for internet only as they were the only provider in Bethany with direct hardwired connections to each house. Now, Comcast has entered the market, so you'd think mediacom would step up their game ... but no. My mediacom internet drops completely at least a half dozen times a day. My cable line has been replaced three times. It disconnects all of my work websites, my zoom connections, all of my Alexa devices, my chromecast, my ring divides, my cameras, everything. Terrible!! My mother-in-law is paying over $250 per month for internet and cable at her summer home in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Neither service is working and Mediacom says that the earliest that they can send a tech to the site is 6 days from now. She is only available for the next 3 days, and then returns to her home in Virginia, so she is "out of luck. I have Verizon in Virginia and they send service help within hours. Don't quote me on this--- but my limited understanding is that some town managers signed an unwitting contract with Medicom for exclusive rights and this demanded legal Arbitration; for this I find both the managers should have some inquiry, maybe. Basically, other internet companies provided 'faster' better less likely to break down service. So right now, seemingly, in terms of brick and mortar---I don't have much of a choice. 89.00 feels a bit high for basic internet which feels slowed down and we know likes of FCC look into these-- or Congress. There is no excuse for this in the richest county in Delaware. As a resident I would like more Competition and even a choice back to classical plug in cable. I do not believe this is a where we are located issue or we would know of similar issues along a thousand miles of coastline. A complete scam of a company!!!! This is the worst internet provider I have ever had. The prices are criminal just for them to provide extremely spotty internet. Their customer service reps have no idea what they are talking about. I've caught a few of them lying to me, telling me information that wasn't true only for me to find the correct information on their website. They have internet limits (it's 2022 there shouldn't be internet limits), but get this, they have no way to tell you which devices are using the data. They will also tell you they can't see the most up to date internet usage reading. So they can charge you for going over your internet limit but they can't tell you what that actually is because they don't know. Also they just randomly increase prices whenever they want, no justification. If there's a problem they want to send a technician out right away but it will cost you $50. They don't answer your questions and they don't fix the issue. I really hope someone who's had this provider longer than I have sues them. They are ripping people off left and right, I hope they go out of business. read more

She is the most aring, thoughtful, outstanding service representative I have ever had. First she is knowledgeable. Because of her, explaining the service, coverage, and equipment i made a well informed order for internet service. I'm buying my own equipment, so, she helped me with the requirements I'd need to work with the services ordered. She warned about what not to buy and what to buy to be successful. She provide an excellent customer service experience. Ty cares about the Mediacom brand, her customers and how she treats people. I would give zero if I could. We have a new home and mediacom is the only option we have for WiFi. We have had NOTHING but problems. Have to call every single day for them to reboot (doesn't work to do on our end), had multiple technicians out, drive to Dagsboro office to exchange modem (which IMO the tech should have brought at the appt the day before!). When I finally got through hours of "troubleshooting" I was told take modem home, call direct line & they will activate. I did that. Was told they would have to send a tech out to do. WTH! I was told could go over phone when I picked up. I was on a call for 30-45 mins. All tech did was ask if I had hooked it up. I mean, I plugged in but I am calling you to activate! I provided the numbers of device & he still said couldn't help, had to get a tech come out. He hung up on me after 40-45 mins & putting me on hold multiple times to "ask". I called back, got a very rude woman who was also clueless. Called back a 3rd time. Fortunately, 3 was the charm and this gentleman was able to activate relatively painlessly. Unfortunately I'd already spent over an hour drive to p/up and over an hour on phone with the previous "techs". He still had my 5G missing & had to reboot a 2nd time. Ended up taking another 30 mins or so but at least he was helpful & got working. All the "techs", including the helpful one, just wanted to sell me additional stuff! The nerve!
