In terms of quality for price, it's 5 stars. It's so cheap and it's just as good as a haircut twice the price. In terms of service, I can see why it gets 3 stars. Their English level is extremely rudimentary, and since I know Chinese it's way worse, they always make fun of how bad my hair is and how bad my eyebrows are. opened from 9 - 9pm?!?!? this was what initially drew me to this place. The fact that it was opened so late perfectly matched my work schedule as I usually make it home fairly late with not too much time to drive to flushing and find parking, so while other places usually close at 7, this is probably the only establishment that opens till 9pm, late night haircuts for all! At 6 dollars a cut, prices here are pretty much on par with most places around flushing ( gotta love immigrant slave wages ), but what set this place apart, at least for me, was the fact that they cut hair really well here, and they take their time cutting hair and really take into consideration what you're looking for in a haircut instead of buzzing away mindlessly until you're left sobbing in a pile of your shorn off hair ( some guy with frosted blonde highlights cut my hair.....didn't catch his name thought.....). Here, the Special is a custom haircut and a 15 -minute or so massage from the cute shampoo girl for only $10 !? I'll say it again, so it's not a mistake folks. Just 10 bucks! I come here, and get treated "Like a King!" My favorite Shampoo Girl gives a killer massage, complete with karate chops. Which includes the shoulders, head, neck, arms & back. Following that, she then applies conditioning soap and then applies a custom shampoo with a relaxing and stimulating scalp massage. In all a incredible 20-minute amenity. Then I go in the Barber's chair and receive a expert haircut, done by licensed hairdresser. (I usually ask for the boss) After the haircut I go for another shampoo, to wash my scalp clean, and then the shampoo girl blow dries my hair and brushes it nice to finish. Would you like spray or gel sir ? No that's okay. My barber who is usually the owner, Does not rush me and speaks both Chinese and English. He's familiar with the haircut that I like and adjusts the length according to the seasons. This modern Salon also features a Big screen television, (Chinese programs) .. and a cute fish tank with big parrot fish that you and the kids can check out. Newspapers and magazines are available, if you can read Chinese. There's a few Coffee shops next door if you get the munchies. So I needed a wash n set. I walk into this place which I notice is always busy and figured it cant be that bad. i was correct!!!! Apple (yes thats her name) washed my hair in a way never done before! Sitting in a flipping chair!!!! Now just so you know my hair is down to my waist...perhaps a touch longer. Not a drop of water or shampoo on the floor or more important my clothes! She massages the scalp amazingly! Once my hair was washed this guy named KK set my hair. It was great. He took his time blow drying and straightening it just as I had asked. Pin straight! I was charged $18 which I think was pretty decent considering my length and so on. Ps. It's an all Asian hair salon. As most shops are in Flushing. A no-fuss, excellent hair cut, wash and blow dry for $18? yep, you can believe it. I came in with hair coming past my chest and severely dry and damaged from a bad bleach job, and was looking for a fairly simple long bob type deal to revive my hair. The shampooing was done in the chair, with what started as a very foamy lather into an interesting scratching that I can assume was a scalp massage LOL. other than that, the washing and cutting process was fairly simple, I can't speak Mandarin but I was able to motion I wanted my hair a little longer by just pointing it out to my hairdresser. Be advised, English is minimal at best here, so go with a Chinese-speaking friend if you can! My stylist did a pretty great job drying my hair out and with a tip of $5 for him and $2 for the lady who shampooed my hair, $25 in total for a wash, cut and dry with a haircut I love is pretty amazing! read more

I went back again after my initial good experience...im at a loss for words at how horrible my hair looks. I went in today to have it corrected, they basically ignored me, spoke in another language, which I'm cool with as do I- but don't make it so obvious you are talking about me negatively as other customers are turning to look at my hair. The stylist that did my hair refused to fix it and didn't even come over to me to look at it. The owners were not around either, im still "waiting" for their call. i have fairly long/thick hair. i went in asking how much it would cost and the lady upon walking in estimated $12 for a cut only. the guy who cut my hair was good. took his time when i requested for layers. when i tipped him $5 (which is a little more than 40% tip, i saw him look at the other hair stylists in a bad way). good for the price but watch out for the attitudes. read more

This is probably my favorite hair salon to get a fresh haircut for a really great price. David always gets me what I want and he is super meticulous and takes his time to do my hair. I don't trust many people to cut my hair because they always end up cutting way too much. However I've gone to David 4x, and he has always been great. If I want a trim I go to him. If I want a Bob I go to him. Basically my go to hair stylist. Aside from David, I don't know much about the rest of the staff. The receptionist is welcoming. Beware! Don't bring your kid here! Today we bought our 4 yrs old toddler to this location for a haircut, everything seems smooth and once we get outside and change his mask, we saw there a dab of blood above his right ear! When we went back immediately and said there's an obvious cut resulted from the hair cutting, this front desk lady came over and said "excuse me" or 不好意思 and went ahead and put alcohol onto the wound and said it should fix the problem. At this point, still no one apologies and not even the barber who made the cut approach us! Accident happens but it's the dishonestly and the way they handle the problem piss me and triggered my wife! The cut is super obvious and the density of the hair on the side where the injury are is A Lot denser and longer compare to the other side that has no injury, the barber who made the cut probably realize he screw up and didn't want to get any closer to the cut to avoid further complications and not wanting us finding out on the spot!!!! And they also gave us the BS said it happened a lot and applying alcohol on the wound will kill all germ and virus! Someone give them a health 101 course and provide proper education please! Their appliances are not sanitize prior to the cut, god know who else the same appliance injured prior? what if it's rusty? This could've all be resolved with proper apology with the right attitude when we went back in at first, instead of asking a random staff of your to pretending she is the boss and try to brush us off with BS! Worst hair Sloan experience ever!! Do not recommend at all! My boyfriend and I had simple hair cuts there together and for him was $10(haircut was 7, we thought the washing was free), mine was $15. I gave them 20% tip which was 5 bucks. They literally stopped us saying that we should give them more money since four people provided service. I said this is all I got, you guys don't take credit cards. They pointed us to an ATM saying no matter how, we should give them more money for tip. And the service was not even good at all! I tried to reason with them for two points: normally over $10 shops take cards. And two, 20% tip is a fairly good amount. Well, what can I say. They are not reasonable at all. Their response was they only take cards for big amounts like "60bucks" and "$5 tip is for one person" hinting I should tip $20 or something. You know what Chinese shops in America, don't take it for granted that people aught to give you a fat tip and don't ever blackmail your customer for that. I have been going to master Jiang (John) for years now. When he decided to open up shop himself, no doubt I followed with. This new establishment is modern, filled with light, and have diligent staff who will always attend to you as soon as you walk in. For a guy, you can't find a better quality cut for $6 a pop (non-wash). I usually shampoo before and after cutting which includes an awesome head and back message by one of the female staff. At the end of the day, I handsomely tip both master Jiang, and the lady who washed my hair. All said and done, under $20. Groupon have nothing on this place. You can hang your coat at the back of the shop near the water fountain, and there's also a small but clean restroom downstairs if you need it. The only downside is like all salons, it gets busy sometimes (especially weekends), and you have to wait a person or two if you have your regular barber and wouldn't want another professional to do your hair. I like the female staffs that washes hair and gives a brief scalp and back massage. I tip well cause I feel they do put in the time and effort. Try to go on weekdays or mornings so it's not too busy. Love, love, love this place. Came here once for a wash, cut, & blow. The stylists don't interact much with the clients (which I'm totally fine with...I actually prefer this) but they hurry and do what they have to do and have you out the door in minimal time. I have really long, thick, coarse hair. I had a wedding to go to the next morning for which my hair needed major work. I ran here right after work and got to the salon by 8:20pm. Without wasting any time, they washed, cut, and blow dried my hair to perfection and I was out the door within an hour. I am truly impressed and I have already recommended this salon to many people and will continue to do so. I also appreciated that the salon stayed open later than most other salons. Of course, the only downside was the lack of parking but that is expected when you step foot into flushing. The stylist that took care of my hair was named Andy and he did exactly what I asked for.
