First, the hair salon's location is not visible if it is your first time visiting. The business is located in between stores and you have to go down these stairs to get to the establishment. In other words, the hair salon is not on street level. Secondly, I dislike when hair dressers tell you what you need to do to your hair just to sell you more products or to believe your hair is not healthy. I personally think if you take care of your hair you should know what is your hair type and the condition it is in. It is obvious (unless you are careless) to know the condition your hair is in. Long story short, I go in for a wash and set and the hairdresser is telling me my hair is shedding (people shed hair everyday and does not mean your hair is unhealthy. It just means dead hair is coming out), then she tells me I should get extensions (no thank you rather have my hair natural) and I should not use oil products, because oils is not good for the hair Really? I never heard anything like this before. Didn't know oil breaks your hair for that matter. That conversation alone was a red flag. Third, the place was not the cleanest. They do have a nail salon within the same establishment which isn't the most hygienic thing to do. My hair dryer was on a pedicure chair and my foot was inside the pedicure tub while drying my hair. Disgusting. I won't ever be getting my feet done there. The floors were dirty, the entrance to the store was dirty, they had these curtains that looked like they needed to be washed, the place appeared like it needed to be sweep and mopped. I just didn't feel comfortable there. Don't get me wrong the ladies were nice, but won't be returning back. Last, this hair salon does not have a price menu anywhere visible. They will just tell you after you are done what the price is. Every establishment that offers services should have a price menu. My advice to this establishment is: Have a price menu visible for the customers. Do not make your customers wait. Nobody wants to be at a hair salon all day. Try not to tell customers what they need to do on their hair or enforce it. Be honest and I don't mean honest just to sell products to benefit you. Last, keep your location clean.

The atmosphere definitely feels like you are in for an indulgence. I came in to get Hair Extension Consultation. I've never had it done before. Stephanie, who is the owner, explained the different types of services they provide. She even showed me how her own were done. I was surprised she had hair extensions! I opted to do it the way she had hers done. Luckily, I had brought my clip on hair pieces to show them. They were good quality pieces so they used them for my extensions. The process took about 2 hours and the price was reasonable. Hugo (the hairdresser assigned to me) did such a fantastic job. I was a little uncomfortable holding my head down for so long, but it's part of the process, right? They do offer you something to drink while you are sitting there. I did wish I had a straw because it was hard to drink with my head bent forward. Afterward it took Hugo another 20 minutes to style my hair. That ended up costing me additional which I was not expecting as I was told that he was just doing finishing touches. Because of the additional expense, I didn't have enough for tip. It was a bit awkward for me. I really wish I had somewhere to go that night because I looked really great!!!! I will be coming back to see Stephanie and Hugo for hair maintenance. Next time I will be clear about exactly what I'm paying for so I won't feel embarrassed not having enough to give gratuity. Pay in cash. You will save more. Make sure you have something to read and/or your phone is fully charged because you will be sitting there for awhile.
