There was one guy taking care of 6 tables (including me). He was actually doing a great job so no knock on him, but I think management can afford to higher another waiter to make things a little More efficient. The noodles for the Pho were a mashed, gelatinous mass and I'm not sure what the meat was but it was well done with large pieces of fat.The beef lo mein was inedible as the same meat that was for the Pho was in it and the noodles were just greasy. Fuck up place, not consistent in taste & portion for any food I'v been eating here since 2016, especially Vietnamese Hot & Sour soup. I have giving them many chances to make up for their error & wrong order. This recent experience on 01-11th-2018 is crossed the line. I order togo Vietnamese hot & sour soup, I didn't check inside the bag till I got home, found out it's only 1/2 portion, I called the restaurant owner, told her the problem, she told me " That's how much the portion supposed to be, if you don't like it, don't come". Was a great place to eat. My family and I would get welcomed with big smiles from the cooks/owners and get mung bean sesame balls at the end of the meal. However, recently, the quality of the food ( as well as the cleanliness of the place ) has dwindled. It still is simple chinese food that can be appreciated though. Our dinner was a total mess. My son ordered spicy beef soup with vermicelli noodles. He tried his soup and it horrible. Not the soup he ordered. He brought it to the owner attention and she said that's what u ordered and you have to eat it. My son said no I'm sorry I don't want it please place correct soup. They bought soup it was what He originally ordered. They charged him for both and were extremely rude. Don't recommend they are not Coustomer friendly. Will never go again. read more

I love this place. I've been here about 4 times since they opened in Feb 2013. The bad thing about the Valley's Chinese offerings is that they are all pretty scary and do not seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. Xin Xin is very nice and very clean and the food is delicious. The portions are very generous, even on the lunch specials. The lunch specials are very affordable and, as I mentioned, have very large portions and come with fried or steamed rice and soup. Hopefully these guys will stay around for a while. I highly recommend Xin Xin. read more

If you like the food at Coast then you'll love the food here. At first I thought it was just a copy cat from the food from Coast since they do have similar food items. However, unlike Coast the food was much better and that's because I love the food from Coast. My coworkers and I came here for lunch. They have a good lunch menu for $7.95 that comes with a soup if you want one but I didn't one. Within 15 minutes after placing our orders our food was already and hot. Not spicy hot but fresh off the stove hot. Also they give you a lot of food. It's enough for two people but that day I was very hungry. Overall, I was very happy with this place and like it much better than Coast. I won't be going back to Coast anymore. The only bad thing I have to say is that they're closed on Tuesdays so make sure you don't try to go on Tuesdays. read more

I love this place. Its nothing like the other Asian restaurants I've been too in the valley. They have a lot more variety and flavor to their menu. Not like other restaurants that smother theirs with black bean sauce and pass it off as authentic. Try the brisket stew or the salt and pepper ribs cuz they're pretty good. Actually, keep an eye out for their board with the house specials, try at least one or ask them what's a good choice and you won't be disappointed. The owner's are pretty funny and friendly. My wife and I have been to Xin Xin on a number of occasions and just recently went with my daughter. I've had their Pho and recently had another noodle dish with dumplings. First off, they serve their Vietnamese egg rolls with green leaf lettuce, the way it's supposed to be done! The rolls tasted good. The fish sauce they served with it had hot chili oil mixed in, which I like, but I've never seen that done before. The hot n sour soup was just ok, seemed overcooked. I ordered the champagne chicken with white sauce, which is basically moo goo gai pan, very good. The lunch portion was also a very nice size and I couldn't eat it all so I thought it was well worth the money. I asked for the three bean jelly drink on their menu and they didn't have it; though I have yet to find anyone in the Valley that actually does. I'm not picky but I know what true Vietnamese Pho tastes like. I've actually been to Vietnam. This was hot water, noodles, a $hit ton of red onions and raw beef. No flavor to the broth. I kept putting salt, soy sauce, chili, Sriracha, jalapeños and nothing made it better. Wasted lunch. Waiter was very sweet but never refilled my drink or checked on me. I've been to a couple of Vietnamese places and I always order egg cake and pork dish. But they gave me a poached egg instead of egg cake they gave me with what looked like a poached egg. When I told the waiter he scuffed and said "no that's how they're made I'm sorry it's not a real cake and walked away." He was rude for the rest of the night. He placed my fathers food on the other side of the table away from him. Besides that the food was dry, the pork was over seasoned which I think isn't common in Vietnamese dishes. Got here at 1:45 for a quick bite before running errands. Atmosphere was pretty dead but service was speedy and polite. Had the beef & broccoli lunch special (7.95, comes with your choice of corn soup or sweet/sour soup). The rest of the menu was a bit more pricey but good quality itself was not bad. A slightly more watery consistency than I'm used to, but the rice was steamed to perfection. The whole plate was very filling. Very good portions. Be aware before you order because we ended up paying 20 bucks for a plate of seafood pad Thai that's taste not thing like pad Thai at all (the same plate and amount of food like that cost only $12 at Tony Thai in Houston, and of course it's way better). Pho sate was tasteless and full of stuff like cucumber, tomatoes since on the menu they just described it as a spicy beef noodles soup. Okay, so we read the reviews and decided to take out. Ordered the General Chow. Was expecting a regular plate for the 15 bucks I paid.It was given to us in two small containers, No egg roll / fortune cookie or anything else else. They even forgot the chopsticks/ utensils. The taste is comparable to House of China. I guess it was okay, but they should offer plates in the under 10 dollar range including egg rolls. I should have gone to my favorite place, Dai Tung near Jackson. I eat there for two meals and drinks for 18 bucks and the taste is authentic and amazing.And you also get egg rolls. This place excels in every item on the menu! I've dinned at this restaurant over a dozen times and not once have I been disappointed. Not to mention the owners who also are the cooks are very friendly. The food is some of the most authentic Chinese/Vietnamese in the Valley. The only thing they need to improve is their atmosphere. It's not the most well decorated or designed place, but at least it is clean and servers are attentive and polite. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. My wife and I have been looking for really good Asian food since our local favorite in Weslaco closed. None of the buffets hold a candle to well cooked single dish food, so we were both extremely happy to find Xin Xin and it's only a 30 minute drive from home. Well worth it. I ordered the crispy beef plate and not only was it a large portion, but it was served up piping hot and delicious. We will be making the trip back soon. read more
