We were able to save $5 dollars a chair vs what our venue was asking for which was really great and the timing wasn't all too late for them considering it was about 3-4 months out. Our experience with XL and Adrian wasn't terrible but wasn't incredible either. He was prompt and responsive and at the beginning we really felt excited and confident in his ability to give us what we wanted, he assured us he could. On the wedding day unfortunately we were less than impressed. I was honestly just expecting more of the string lighting for the price we paid. In addition, he and his team placed one of the poles that hold the lights directly in the middle of our stage backdrop and didn't even bother or think to cover it, even after one of our other vendors told him he should (photo below). With some vendors you really feel that they understand this is your big day and that they truly care that it's perfect, this wasn't really the case with Adrian - it felt like it was just a job for him. read more

I am so happy I hired XL Entertainment for my January wedding! I first contacted Adrian in April 2013 via email. (In fact, all of our communication was via email). I told him my budget was $1000 for draping and uplighting. Another company, Classic Party Rentals, wanted $5000 for the same items so I didn't expect him to meet my budget, but he did! I signed the contract right away and put down a 25% deposit. I paid the remaining balance a week or two before the wedding. Adrian went to my venue before my day to make sure everything was going to work out well. We hired XL Entertainment for our backyard rustic wedding on 11-9-13. I was looking for someone that I could rent strands of bistro lighting from so we could hang them in a rented tent ourselves. I e-mailed a lot of companies, including Christmas lighting companies -all of which either didn't respond to me or weren't interested in giving me what I needed. I found XL and read all of their great reviews and decided to try them out. I sent an e-mail with my request and received a reply from Adrian immediately- within a couple of hours. We ended up hiring Adrian at XL after he came out to give us a quote. He was extremely helpful with suggestions to make our big day even better than what I could've ever imagined! He had an iPad full of his work so I could see tons of examples and get a picture perfect idea. His quote was so reasonable, it made it worth it to hire them to do it all vs. renting strands and doing it ourselves. Once our wedding day arrived, Adrian and his crew at XL Entertainment were prompt, professional, and great at what they do! I could easily see why they had so many rave reviews. We hired Adrian to do our lighting and drapes for our wedding. He added a 'free' chandelier to our package which we were very excited about and it made me feel better about the pricing because the package was not cheap. We never got our 'free' chandelier on the night and asked Adrian about it on the night when he came to take down the lights and drapes and he said that we will be given some kind of reimbursement for it.... which we never did. I know it was a 'free' add on but in my opinion it was included in the whole package so it has its price. Also the restaurant that we were using already had ceiling drapes up done by XL which they had not taken down prior to our wedding.... so really they didn't do any work on the ceiling drapes and so we were charged for something that was already there...maybe that's why they forgot the chandelier because they never touched the ceiling drapes? No chandelier, no reimbursement... disappointed and so we won't be recommending this company to any of our friends. read more

I was a little concerned about the paint color in my reception hall (a pale yellow), but the up lights they placed all around the room gave it a warm amber glow that set the mood off right! We first met with Adrian at our wedding venue. He went over their offerings, showed us some photos on his iPad of what they are able to do, took measurements, and made suggestions for us. We ended up going with background draping behind our sweetheart table, a spot light on the draping with our names in a pretty design, a pin spot light pointed at the cake, and amber up lights placed around the entire room. Ah man did XL Entertainment Systems make my life easy. I'm a DJ, who also provides up lighting as an additional service. I had and wedding the night before and knew I'd be way too tired to set up 3 sound systems for the wedding, slideshow equipment AND wired up-lighting. I'm a one man show, so NO WAY. I contacted XL Entertainment to inquire about 18 uplights for my client. Not only did Adrian respond right away, he did so close to midnight. I can appreciate that, because I'd do the same for my clients. I knew then I'd be booking with this company. 18 wireless battery powered uplights, setup and strike at the end of the event. On event day I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't ask what type lights I'd be getting because I assumed they'd be round LED Par lights like I had. Nope, he provided great looking color bars that provided a much bigger wash on the walls and left the room looking amazing. We got married at the Anaheim Marriott on NYE and what we loved about the ballroom were the huge chandeliers and the high ceilings. Since the hotel is near Disneyland, whoever designed it must've had the "whimsical and colorful" theme on their minds because the walls had colorful paintings on them and of course played off the even crazier colorful carpet. This room needed to be draped badly. I contacted Adrian one evening and he was surprisingly prompt with his correspondence, since it was after usual business hours. When he met us at the ballroom to discuss details, he was very professional and brought his ipad to show all of the examples of their draping. The ballroom was huge, so we were concerned about going over our budget but he was willing to work with us around that. We had researched many other draping/lighting companies and for the package that Adrian was able to customize for us, it was a the best deal we found! Of course you're thinking, with price comes a sacrifice for quality, but that is where XL entertainment differs from the rest! A few months later, once we finalized our guest count, it went way over what we had planned originally and we ended up having to add an additional section of the ballroom (doubled in size basically). Adrian was able to accommodate all the additional draping without breaking the bank! It's so refreshing to meet vendors who are genuine and will not try to overcharge you for their services when you're in a pinch. The night of, the ballroom looked like a dream! We agreed on the price and the services to be rendered on the day of and I had followed up with him just days before the even to make sure that he got everything we needed. However, on the day of our event, I noticed that the 4 dance floor wash was not present. There was nothing I can do at that point and just live with the fact that there was no dance floor wash, which created major lighting issue with photographer and the ambiance. After the event, I had contacted Adrian to request for a credit on the dance wash and just let it be but he failed to respond to my repeated request. It's been 3 weeks and I have yet to hear back from him. I posted on WeddingWire on my experience but he disputes my claim, making my review hidden. Just had my wedding at the Double Tree hotel in Santa Ana and XL Entertainment did a great job! They did up lighting, dance floors and provided projector screens for our slide show. However, I did wish the projector screen was higher off the ground. It was placed too low where you could barely see if you were seated far away. Adrian was very professional and on point. He was one of the few vendors who responded quickly to emails and phone calls. I checked out many vendors for lighting and XL Entertainment has one of the best prices in town. read more

I needed a lot of lighting and drapery for my wedding which was on 6/7/2014 and was looking here on yelp reviews when I cam across XL Entertainment. I just want to share my entire experience from when I first contacted them, Adrian called me right back. He always was available and responded to all emails right away (which if your planning a wedding you know that not all vendors do that and how frustrating that can be). For my first meeting with him at my venue which was a barn that needed to be transformed into a wedding, Adrian showed up right on time and was so extremely professional, and was just so nice and all about customer service. He listened to my crazy vision and was more then happy to work with me and make it a reality. My venue was kind of difficult to work with due to all of there rules and regulations, Adrian worked with them and figured everything out and made my life a heck of a lot easier. Then the day of the wedding, everything was just perfect and exactly what I wanted, everything was absolutely beautiful and I literally couldn't have asked for a better job. Date of event 12/19/2015 Adrian was awesome! He met my parents and I at the venue for their 50th wedding Anniversary and gave us ideas to make our venue look beautiful within our budget. He did the drapping, uplighting, and chavari chairs. He didn't try to upsell, nor did he have hidden costs, he's very upfront about everything. I forgot to tell him that we needed an extra ten chairs because we added a table last minute and he ran back to get the extra chairs and ended up not charging us the extra fee for those chairs.
