Armond is Amazing!! He turned my large jacuzzi into a dance floor that we also used as the altar for my backyard wedding for my son in October. I can't begin to explain that this was truly necessary for space usage but he came and and built the focal point of the night. He is timely, professional and rolled with a change I needed to make about adding a separate dance floor on the grass too. He is a nice man and easy to do business with- very knowledgeable and skilled. You need to RUN, don't walk, to hire him for any of your party needs. I called several companies to have a clear walled and clear ceiling tent installed on my deck. It was not until I received a call back from Armand that my need was met. The week before, it was cold, rainy and snowed in La Canada. I needed a covering for my early March event. I had less than a week to secure the tent. Armand quickly came over to my home, assessed what was needed, quoted the price and VOILA, it all happened. He and the team arrived and installed the tent seamlessly and on time. It turns out I needed an additional wall because of the cold and Armand delivered and installed it the next day. They disassembled it the next day without a problem. When Armand came out to give me a bid he walked the layout of what we wanted and what could be done. When I called to get clarification on timing and what was needed before installment, he was very rude. The week of the event when they installed the pool cover it was not done according to what we had worked out. My entire layout was thrown off. I was basically told, too bad that is what we can do. In the end we got him to make a small adjustment so I could add the tables I needed even if they weren't placed right. The set back added a lot of undue stress. read more

I really have mixed feelings about this company. Let me start by saying why we choose Star Events. The price was extremely competitive. Best we could find. His product was also satisfactory. We got a white dance floor, Chiavari chairs and linens. The company doesn't have a big selection. Only white or cream chair cushions. We could only get one type of charger plate and one type of linen in the colour we wanted. I got the feeling that Armond hasn't been in business long. He's extremely laid back. He was shocked and protested against the fact that he had to pick up the dance floor and chairs after the wedding. Yes, it was late, but according to my wedding planner and the hotel, it is standard practice for vendors to collect their items after the wedding. The hotel doesn't want rentals sitting in their ballroom all night. Also, the week of the wedding he insisted we pay in cash and wouldn't take credit card or check. How many people have wads of cash hanging around a week before the wedding? And if cash was required, I would've appreciated knowing when we signed the contract, not 3 days before the wedding. Also, we got a call from our wedding planner days before the wedding notifying us that he did not have the correct size linen for our tables. We had to use mismatched linens. Again, it would've been nice to know he couldn't fill our order more than 3 days out. Finally, when one of his staff members dropped off the items on the day of our wedding and wanted final payment, he presented an invoice that was different than the one we had agreed on. They had raised prices on us. Luckily my fiancée had the original invoice on hand and we worked it out but really, who wants to deal with this the day of their wedding. I guess you get what you pay for. Great prices, quality product but not exactly stress free. read more

We used Star Event Productions for our wedding due to the unbeatable pricing we were quoted relative to the venue's onsite services for a tent/draping and dancefloor. We ran into a curveball with the venue, which required an additional permit, fire retardant on the tent fabric, meeting fire regulation for amount of square footage needed per person, etc, but Armond handled these issues in stride, coming up with product solutions that met our budgetary needs. Armond has been very helpful and accommodating throughout, always maintaining good communication. My mom and I were driving on Washington and came across Star Events. We stopped by and rang the doorbell. An older man who didn't even say hello or greeted us, opened the door. We walked in and he just stood there with his arms crossed until we started asking the questions. We were there for less than 2 minutes because of how unprofessional he was. We're really big on first impressions and how business owners handle their businesses proffesionaly. We're the customers and we know nothing of what you offer. I did a lot of research before choosing Star Event Productions as a vendor for my wedding. The truth is that I couldn't find another place with more affordable Chiavari Chairs. I did call a lot of places and you probably will too, just to find that they can't beat their rental price. Armond was a great person to deal with. He was friendly, great with phone calls, meeting times, and emails. ***I do have to warn you: KEEP YOUR INVOICE. Make sure everything is clearly stated (color of chair, color of chair cushion, etc.). For my event I got white chair cushions and I did bring it up to his attention but he insisted that I had ordered white cushions. I didn't argue or mind b/c the banquet hall would be dark and the white would end up looking like ivory. A few days later after the wedding I found an invoice that stated "chocolate cushion covers." I'm sure it was just an honest mistake. Don't be discourage to do business with Armond. He is very flexible and willing to work with your budget. Unlike other vendors, he was very understanding and didn't argue or mind at all when I removed items or added items to my order. I would definitely do business with again and would recommend him to a friend or family member. read more

After a lot of looking around and getting quotes from multiple vendors, we decided to show up at Star Event Productions to review the status of their furniture and place an order. It was a 2 day notice for a party of 40 - yet it was completely delivered as needed. Armond delivered everything himself on time.( Chiavari Chairs, Tables with Linens, Flatware, Dinner Plates etc....pretty much all of it!). Please do not hire Armand for your own sake. He has single handedly ruin my wedding and all my ceremony pictures! My wedding venue at Westin Pasadena has a fountain where the couple could either rent a wooden bridge from their preferred vendor or hire someone to build one. My wedding colors were white, gray, yellow and blue and I thought wood didnt match the colors so I paid Armand more money to custom build a white bridge for me. I specifically asked for an ALL WHITE BRIDGE and it was clearly stated on the contract! On the day of my wedding, not only did he build me a half wood half white bridge, he didn't even care to build me the stairs to get on and off the bridge! My ceremony was supposed to start at 4, he got there at 12 and didn't finish until 3:30. When my wedding planner asked him where were the stairs, he said I didn't order one and packed up and left!! Seriously WTF! The hotel, the planner, even my photographer and videographer were all stumbling to try to get me something to get on and off the bridge, but Armand just said I didn't order one and took off! My ceremony were late for half an hour. Guests started arriving only to see everybody looking at the bridge with a puzzled face. Finally the hotel found an ugly metal stairs that was meant for back stage and there were two tall handles in the middle of every single ceremony pictures we have for our wedding. It ruined all of our ceremony pictures. So two days later I called Armand to ask him WTF was that, not only did he not apologize, he got into a freaking 30 mins argument with me. He asked what was wrong with the bridge, I said I wanted a WHITE bridge. He said "well your planner was there, she should've told me and I would paint it white!" It was in the freaking contract and he didn't finish building it till 330, how was he supposed paint it and let it dry in time!?!! He expected me to walk the aisle with wet paint!! Then when I asked about the stairs, he said I didn't order one and it wasn't his responsibility to make sure I have one. I only ordered the bridge and he build the bridge! I've never deal with anyone as irresponsible as him! Aside from his horrible customer service! Maybe some people have had good experience with him, but you never know when will be his bad days. Five stars for good pricing, getting the job done well, and delivering on the product as agreed to (chiffon curtains and dance floor) for our wedding reception. Minus one star though because dealing with Armond was a freakin headache! The guy was over half an hour late to our initial meeting with no apology...but ok, he had good reviews, had fair and competitively priced services, and hey, LA traffic sucks so we went with him. For those of you planning a wedding, you know your time is extremely valuable and that prompt replies and responsiveness from vendors is of the utmost importance, especially when coordinating between multiple vendors and the venue etc. Our venue was already being difficult by requiring all sorts of paperwork, contracts, and insurance from vendors and dealing with Armond only added to the stress/headache...We gave him the paperwork to be signed/completed months prior to the deadline on the day we paid the deposit but the guy submitted incomplete paperwork when we contacted him as the deadline approached. Ok ok...honest mistake maybe. Then, we still needed proof of insurance coverage as requested by our venue and he acted as if this was something he never had to do before. He submitted a certificate of liability for the wrong venue figuring that it was good enough; of course it wasn't! He obviously has gone through this insurance nonsense process before but the guy acted clueless and we had to walk him through the paperwork and what was needed. He kept promising that the paperwork was coming and that the insurance company was the hold up. You can imagine our stress level as the deadline for paperwork was looming and we had other things to get done! In the end I called the insurance company myself and got the necessary paperwork emailed in 5 minutes. Armond ended up emailing us the certificate days before the event....which was like 2 weeks AFTER we needed it! Bottom line though, Star Events is priced well, delivered the services as requested, and was on time. Use this vendor but be ready to stay on top of them and don't just assume "oh I'll give him another day or two to get back to me" because nothing will get done read more

DO NOT USE STAR EVENT AT ALL COSTS!! BRIDES, BEWARE OF THE "BAIT AND SWITCH" TACTIC!! Armond seemed like a nice guy when the fiance and I went to visit his showroom. I was hesitant on the way to his showroom because of the other bad reviews I had read. But I still wanted to go and check him out because his price was affordable and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. We specifically discussed our venue and we discussed pricing. The fiance and I even questioned him about the bad review he received on Yelp. His response was "mistakes happen and I don't know what that girl was complaining about". I should have walked out the door right then! Because his rates were so affordable, I emailed him to request a contract. To my surprise, Armond sent me a contract $50 ABOVE our original quote. (BTW, I know $50 is not that big of a difference, but it's the principal!) Of course I called him and he straight lied to me saying he didn't know our venue was on the 2nd floor. Umm HELLO!! We thoroughly discussed our venue a couple days ago!! We explained to him that he had to access an elevator and he acknowledged that he had already been to our venue for a prior event and he knew our venue well. Anyways, he continued to argue that he could not honor his original quote so I said forget it. He did the ol' bait and switch tactic! He even had the audacity to email me saying that we did not discuss the venue one bit. Brides, please do not use Star Event for any of your events. I do not want you to go through the headache he put me through. Don't let him fool you with his "affordable" prices. Just pay the extra fees and book a competent, reliable, and HONEST company!!! read more

My husband and I have used Star Events on several occasions, and we have NOT been let down yet! We have a VERY large pool that Armond has covered for us twice, once was to use as a dance floor and the other occasion was to use the pool as seating for our guest. Its absolutely amazing how he can transform the pool into a dance floor with lights or platform for seats and even a Jumper...Armond never lets us down he is a very nice man that works with us on pricing and also provides other services such as furniture rental, tables, chairs, linens and chandeliers. I was so grateful to this company and their professional work, being so reliable and their great products. I found Star Event Productions when I was looking for affordable Chivari chairs. I had long ago decided I did not want Chivari chairs because I liked the simple look of folding chairs and they had the added benefit of being 3x cheaper. However, my event planner would not let go of insisting I get Chivari chairs -- especially when my event was moved indoors. She said we could find them for a reasonable price and started looking. I conceded once I saw ice clear Chivaris. They were so magical looking. It also did not hurt that my videographer who used to work in fashion design and has really cool taste also said Chivaris would be better and Armond at Star Event gave me a price I could not refuse :) Star Event came through both on an INCREDIBLE price (and lowest-price-matched EVERY OTHER RENTAL COMPANY!!!!!) and a GREAT product and service. At first it seemed too good to be true and I was reluctant because they were very insistent on getting the business and gave me a really good deal. However, once I saw there had been enough really good reviews of their work, I decided to go with them. Then I saw that Everything Star Event had was of better quality and price!!! I could not believe it. I kept adding more things from their menu including elegant silver chargers, 100% cotton napkins, beautiful lounge furniture, gorgeous chandeliers -- of which they had both the 2-tier and the 1-tier. Not only were they very friendly and accommodating, they were the only rental company willing to take on a new delivery the day before Thanksgiving for Thanksgiving day. We used star event production for my sons bar mitzvah last month. We had our pool covered- half plexi glass, half carpet...which came out more beautiful then we expected! We also ordered chivari chairs, tables, a kings throne chair (which my son loved!), two tents, due to rain that wknd- which we included chandeliers and drapery to them ...it all came out beautiful!!! And what is ideal is that the owner himself is present during the work to answer any questions if necessary.
