We hired Alex and his company to complete a landscaping project; tree and shrub removal, grass and straw seeding, stump grinding, FirePit, gutters, and fence. He left the project incomplete midway through completion. Removed plants and landscaping without permission, left lawn tore up and unleveled, cut down tress not in project scope, left debris not in the agreed upon manner. And didn't not install gutters, fence or fire pit. We acknowledge he had equipment issues but we offered to get equipment for the project to be completed. No communication and half the project not completed. read more

I hired XL Outdoor contracting to remove 10 trees from my property on June 17th, 2023. Alex and his crew got the trees down and removed from the property. With the tree removal there was some damage to my retaining wall, which I was warned could happen and I was prepared for. Alex offered to rebuild a new retaining wall. After talking with him I told him to take some measurements and come up with a price and we could discuss it. When I came home from work on June 20th he had removed the wall and hundreds of dollars in landscaping rocks, pavers, flagstone and plants without talking to me. He told me he would have the wall replaced by the following Friday (June 23rd) and come replant the grass in my neighbors yard that he destroyed in the process of removing my trees. Well it rained a lot that week leaving my entire back yard and neighbors yard a mud pit ( I have 4 dogs so as you can imagine my house was also a mud pit). Finally after the rain continued to push off the job Alex ordered the supplies for the wall and I paid for them. Delivery was on July 11th with Alex and his crew starting the job on July 12th. No call, no show on July 12th, 13th, and 14th. Alex is barely responding to my texts and ignoring my calls. Finally Wednesday July 18th Alex responds to a text staying he can start the job the following Tuesday July 25th. He texted me Tuesday morning and said he wouldn't be able to come start due to the rain, no rain happened overnight at my house and the forecast for the day way sunny. He continued to ignore my calls and texts. It's been over a month since he ripped out a wall without permission or a quote to replace it. Constant promises to "take care of me" and a very disappointing result. I wouldn't recommend him for a job if you enjoy good communication and follow through. Not to mention inappropriate behavior. I had three separate neighbors complain to me about profanities being screamed from the top of a tree. He has big promises and underwhelming results. If you want a job half completed he might do that for you. His prices are "fair" but you get what you pay for. XL outdoor Contracting company is amazing and can do anything they were my 3 company or quotes on 2 trees to be removed 80 feet or little taller he said he can do it with no problem. One was dead and the other was on its way to dieing took on the job like he was at his home respected my property and my family. I enjoyed watching them take down the tree it was amazing and wow how they take there time and then clean up afterwards is amazing you can't tell anyone was here.
