Cinco de Mayo. What a joy to taste that margarita made with care and such luscious quacamole. Had char-grilled chicken tacos with refried beans. Flavors on point. Such freshness and great service. Dined outside, music live.

I was excited to try Xolos as it's been doing a solid business since opening. I ordered the chicken crunch wrap. This was crispy on the outside and on one side there was cheese that was nice and crisp. This was flavorful and the queso mixed with the chicken was delish. I had a side of black beans and Spanish rice which had a kick but I liked it. The guacamole with chips was very good. Enjoyed the meal and will be back to try other items. The place is really nicely decorated and it's easy to find and there's plenty of parking in the area. They have outdoor seating as well which many people were enjoying.

Camaron Adobo Taco with rice and beans! Loved the addition of the avocado salsa, a light and fresh taco.

Very tasty meal at Xolos. Service was attentive and efficient, and the complimentary chips and salsa were tasty! Enjoyed my shrimp tacos and thought they were fresh and light, good for the summer. The churros were hefty and tasty and I enjoyed the cold chocolate Oaxaqueno with it (first time!)

There's a dearth of really good Mexican food here. Finally tried Xolos and wasn't disappointed. Quite a choice of tacos, so stuck with the basic street tacos and they nailed it; carne asada, onion and cilantro, husband had the chile relleno with chicken and refried black beans, a little different than he's had before. Menu features Oaxacan dishes, plus interesting cocktails. Not sure what's going on with the murals, but slightly funky interior and bar make it a winner.

The saddest, most anemic pair of shrimp tacos I have ever seen. And they tasted about as weak as they look. The beans weren't bad.

I came to a meetup and the host was at the bar. We chatted for a while, and the bartender brought him chips & salsa, but never brought any for me. I asked if he could bring some salsa for me and he kinda liked at me funny. It never arrived. (I was sharing the chips (post covid, no one wants to share dipping bowls, and I don't really want to either, but they never brought any extra, even after I asked) We decided to eat there and ordered. A few minutes later, another person showed up, but since we were already there and had ordered (plus it was raining so the patio was closed) we decided not to move to a table. After the orders had been in for 15-20 minutes or so, the bartender told my friend that their food had run out. They made a different choice, and we continued to talk. The other person ordered food. Soon, my friends replacement meal came. I still didn't have anything but water and the drink I had ordered. Then a runner brought out food, and he looked at me and said "your tacos were all the way, right? These are plain, but I'll bring you come pico. He sat down the most pitiful plate of food I have ever been served in my entire life. A bowl of beans (which was the side I ordered) and two pink soft corn tortillas with two shrimp each and four little dabs of a guacamole reduction sauce piped on. It was ridiculous. Everyone I have shown the picture to gawks at it and says "You're kidding, right?" They did bring a small dish of pico de gallo, but there was no lettuce, slaw, tomatoes, cheese - nothing but these dry tortillas and those poor lonely shrimp. Meanwhile, my friend's replacement meal was a bowl of Arroz con polo that he couldn't finish, and the guy on the other side of my other friend had a burrito the size of my forearm. Neither of my friends could finish their food. I had to stop on the way home for food. Each time a runner came out, it seemed no one knew where to take orders, so I'm sure some poor diner was expecting this plate of nothing, but were served my tacos full of the things promised on the menu. Me, I'd have been embarrassed to hand this plate to a guest, even if they ordered it this way. Had I not been with a group that I didn't know well, and it not been a Friday night with crowds coming in to dodge the rain, I'd have asked the manager if this is the kind of meal they want to be known for. It's a new place, in Southern Village, and every time I go to places here, I keep telling myself it's all show and no substance. This place finally proved it in spades.

I hate to do it, but I can't give a better rating to Xolos. The atmosphere and service were good; no complaints there. The food and drink left so much to be desired I just can't give a better rating. We got a couple drinks; cheap prices, but that was matched with the flavor of them unfortunately. For food, we got the Tlayuda. I'm pretty sure it actually had no seasoning on it at all. The meat, cheese, sauce, and veggies actually had no flavor, we were a bit confused. The chips also had no salt and the salsa was not very good. We did enjoy the queso. I'm a bit surprised by the good reviews, maybe we just had a bad experience.

It's always very clean and authentic ambience. Very friendly staff and the food. Problem with paper underneath the crispy tortilla on the Tlayudita Xolos. I wonder if it was supposed to be there?

Really delicious Oaxaca style cuisine and the waiter was even from Oaxaca so I enjoyed discussing my trip to Oaxaca with him and all the variety of dishes that originate there in Oaxaca, Mexico. Definitely coming back!

This brand new Tex-MEX is a WELCOME addition to the Market Street Circle of Southern Village restaurants ! Food is tasty, fresh, well prepared, served promptly, attentive smiling servers. A BONUS ? VERY KID FRIENDLY ! Sidewalk tables are nice, especially on a sunny day.

Authentic Mexican. Delicious. Feels a little like a cafeteria, though. Took awhile to get a drink ordered.

Our server was great and very knowledgeable on the menu and had great wine recommendations. The Soupe aux Haricots Cannellini was creamy and delicious. The big chunks of bacon were pleasant and tasty finds within the soup as well. The beef tartare was perfectly prepared and paired well with the small pieces of toast that came with it. Every bite of the poulet toulousaine (sausage-stuffed chicken) was delicious. Each bite was juicy and very well-seasoned. The fondant potatoes were so soft and good. The knife sliced through them like butter. It was amazing and the Brussel sprouts were divine. I loved it.

The service was very "Parisian"--they left you alone but were there when you needed a server. The omelettes were divine. We had the "supreme" which is off the menu but is a combo of ham and mushrooms. The eggs were silky and the potatoes on the side err smashed fried potatoes with caramelized onions. My son had the gnocchi which was quite good. The morning bun was the hit, though, and a must-get when you go. The have a pretty impressive bar program, too. I had a French 75 (since it's a French restaurant, seemed like the call) which had Theo house made pea-lavender syrup. It was excellent! Delicious, strong coffee too.

She helped us check if we could have my nephew's plate modified and make a non-vegetarian side into a vegetarian one for my cousin. I thought that was very sweet! The ol' traditional waffle, eggs, and sausage was a perfect way to start my day, and I really liked how crispy the waffle was! The berry jam or compote was a nice addition to eat my waffle with, on top of their warm syrup. My cousin got the avocado toast, while my niece got her grilled cheese and apple juice, and my nephew got his ginormous chocolate chip pancake!!! He was super happy with the pancake, while my niece wasn't used to the crispness and grilled cheese being melted and toasted so fancily. I guess kids just prefer the Krafts sliced grilled cheese sandwich. She was pretty content with her Apple juice though! Parking was a bit difficult, but we got lucky to find two spots right in front of First Watch on a Friday afternoon!

Very disappointing experience…read more We arrived around 9:30am on a Saturday. The restaurant was around 25% capacity, so it wasn't busy by any means. It took ten minutes for our server to come back with an iced coffee, and we had been sitting there for twenty minutes before she took our order. A little odd, especially for a restaurant that really wasn't that busy, but whatever. The eggs Benedicts (we got the same thing) arrived cold, unseasoned, and improperly cooked. Not only were both of our eggs broken, the yolk and hollandaise sauce leaked all over my plate and soaked the mixed greens. My boyfriend didn't even get dressing for his mixed greens, he was served straight up raw arugula. For some reason the "chef" and server thought this was ok to give to a customer. Not to mention it took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered for our food to get to us. I didn't say anything because I hate sending food back and looking like a Karen but this was such a disappointing experience. Our server was nice but she was clearly very frazzled and inattentive. The host also cut me off when we were leaving, literally turned around to look at me afterwards, didn't apologize, and then stared at us without saying a word when we left. Very odd behavior. We had planned to try the French toast after hearing wonderful things about it but I'm afraid we won't be coming back.

The star of the show in my opinion were the hush puppies and the corn and wild mushroom risotto. There were sooo many different flavors that perfectly complemented each other. I was blown away. And the pig cheek on top was incredible. 500/10. Our server made great recommendations! Then-- chaos and heartbreak ensued in the form of a fire alarm. We were forced to evacuate the restaurant as the fire department arrived , leaving about half our meal on the table. After 30 or so minutes of waiting out in the cold (we were apparently the only guests who hadn't paid out yet) our server came to find us. He asked us if we wanted to just give him our credit card information and he would ring us up later, when the fire department gave them the ok, as he understood not wanting to wait around. It broke our heart to leave our leftovers, but we agreed and went to go get the car. Thankfully we are stubborn.. and optimistic to a fault. And by the third time we circled around the block, the fire truck was pulling away. I ran in and asked if there was any chance our food hadn't been thrown away yet, and it hadn't! The staff was happy we had been able to come back, and they packed everything up for us, even taking the hush puppies off the bill and sneaking in a complimentary piece of key lime pie. I'm so glad we were able to tip our server appropriately for his great service-- and rescue our leftovers. Happy ending. All was well. (And the fire ended up being something innocuous in the unit above the restaurant)
