    Talk about huge portions!

Friendly staff, huge portions, decent price. My dad and I stumbled into this cafe and we were pleasantly surprised. Arroz con pollo was large enough to feed two people (maybe even 3!). Would definitely visit again.

Very good steak sandwiches here and only 5 bucks! Whenever I'm in the area I always try and stop by for the Pan con bistec, with mayo. Too dry without the mayo.

Outside looks worse than it actually is

Service has room for improvement, place is clean, portions large, great price.

I have been coming to Xpress Cafe for breakfast and lunch since 2014, when I started working in the area. I heard about it from a coworker of mine who is good friends with the owners and has also been coming here for a long time. The owners (it's a family run business), are very good and hard working people. They put their all into this place and you could taste it in their food. They make a delicious tostada cubana with queso (the absolute best), the cuban coffee is always perfect, I have both, almost every day for breakfast. The breakfast menu offers other delicious items like eggs, and shakes, yum! They also have delicious specials for lunch....my favorite is their Chicharron de pollo, its the best I've ever had, their white rice and tostones are also on my top favorites. This restaurant is also very well known for their sandwhiches, they have a delicious pan con bistec! They also have delicious salads, and frankly all of their food are huge portions! All in all, I feel very good about giving them 5 stars. The food is good, the employees are wonderful people, and everyone who comes here (well the majority) are regulars who work in the area. I will definetly be back (probably Monday morning, haha). If you haven't been to Xpress Cafe, I suggest you do!

I don't like honey mustard so I went with the cheesesteak and onions. These sandwiches are very pricey I would say but the staff was friendly and I love to see a small restaurant be successful. There are some benches outside for you to eat and I def recommend you try to eat it immediately because the bread gets soggy fast.

This place is an absolute staple and a true hidden gem for anyone who loves a good sub. It's dangerous that it's so close to home ! What sets Hungry Bear apart is the fact that they pack their subs not just with generous amounts of meat, but with serious flavor too. Every bite hits, and it's obvious they season their ingredients with intention. Whether you go for the classic Philly or my go to, the Honey Mustard Chicken, you're getting a sandwich that's loaded and satisfying. Recently, I tried their new BBQ Chicken Bacon Ranch sub and... wow. It was everything you'd want in a messy, flavor packed sandwich. Smoky, tangy, crispy, melty and just perfection in a sub roll. Speaking of rolls, the bread here deserves a whole paragraph of its own. It's always soft, fresh, and just the right texture. It holds up without being too chewy or too dry, and honestly, it makes the whole experience next level. This is a takeout spot, and trust me, it's always packed. That's how you know it's legit. While there's no indoor seating they did recently add two picnic tables outside. If the weather's nice, that's your spot. If you haven't been to Hungry Bear yet, you must go. If you've already been you must go again. Some places come and go, but Hungry Bear is the kind of classic that sticks around for a reason.

They keep it moving fast, so typically the line moves right along. Every time I come here, I tell myself I am going to try something new, but I don't because the pan con bistec is always perfection. The steak is thinly sliced, so the sandwich has great texture. It has fontina cheese, which is definitely unique for a steak sandwich in Little Havana. The restaurant is a classic touristy hole in the wall. You stand outside until ready to order, be prepared to wait 30+ mins. I ordered 2 sandwiches, cuban fries, and chicharrones to split with a friend. The cubano (5/5) and pan con bistec (5/5) were absolutely excellent. Both had a perfect ratio of meat and sauce. But what really set it apart was the crispy crusted bread. Spectacular! The chicharrones (4/5) were a steal - MASSIVE portion for like $5. Insane deal, and delicious. The cuban nachos (4.5/5) had their amazing sauce and garlic confit lechon on it. Delicious and would order both again. Overall, this is a tourist spot but one I don't think can be missed.

Upon arrival, it was not busy, there was one person waiting on their food, we saw that our orders on the screen, and there was only 3 orders total at the moment. However, we probably waited another 20 mins after. While we waited more people showed up, but our food was not getting done any quicker. People who ordered in person got their order first, and they came in at least 5-10 mins after we arrived. I have worked in the food industry, so I do understand that it gets busy, however when we came in time, it was announced that we were there to pick up the food. Only one employee apologized for how long it was taking. I would have thought that our food was going to be done first. The drinks were alright, we got the lemonade, and half sweet and unsweet tea. We ordered the King Club, Chicken salad Sandwich, Spicy Turkey Melt and the Max Spud. Mind you, these items were all half, so imagine waiting more than 30 mins total from the time we ordered to the time we got the food. The King club was good, the honey mustard added a nice sweetness. The Spicy Turkey melt was mid, I think it could do without the avocado. The Chicken Salad sandwich was good too, I love the little sweetness the cranberries added. The Max spud was also mid. I don't think I'm a baked potato kind of person. The vibes were like as if Panera and TooJays had a baby. Would come back for the food but service could improve.

We have eaten in Peruvian restaurants and cafes all over North America. Here, the flavors were familiar but amazingly well-executed. We had these treats: Lucuma-chocolate cheesecake -- not too sweet, either flavor/layer; this is just a smooth caramel flavor derived from the lucuma fruit plus the real chocolate layers. Lucuma milkshake -- not too sweet, just a creamy caramel-flavor profile again derived from, counterintuitively, a fruit. Arroz con leche / rice pudding -- delicious, creamy, and a little thin compared to the American counterpart (tends to be thicker consistency); this has cinnamon and a little bit of spiced orange. My wife said it reminded her of her mother's arroz con leche. Little box of alfajores -- we didn't try them yet. This place is 10/10 especially if you are a discerning Peruvian food eater.

The arroz con leche was made with long grain, light cinnamon and a thinner consistency, pretty solid overall. The inside ambience was very nice. Cute decor with plenty of seating. The sweet plantain paired perfectly with the savory beef, creating the ideal balance of sweet and salty flavors. My boyfriend ordered the cheese arepa.
