I dropped my laptop off on Tuesday and I paid around $85 dollars to run a diagnostic on my Macbook Air to see if we could figure out what was wrong. The man called me on Wednesday to give me an update, and he called me again on Thursday to let me know my laptop couldn't be fixed without a significant cost. It turned out to be an issue with the logic board which was out of my budget to fix as a student. During the phone call, the same guy explained the problem to me in incredible detail so I could make an informed choice about what to do next. I could tell his priority was finding a solution I was happy with because he kindly answered every question I had with a positive attitude and clear answers. I trusted his expertise a lot and I probably would have said yes to any service he recommended + I am appreciative he didn't treat my situation as a cash grab. Nich Jacob's shop in Newcastle sounded perfect. To put it succinctly, Nich knew what the problem was, fixed it quickly, didn't charge near as much as I expected and he let me watch.
