I had a dress that needed a zipper replaced. I came in and was a little nervous due to previous experience at other tailors. The lady was really nice and reassuring that they would take care of my dress and make it perfect. My dress was a little complicated since the zipper went through a corset part. They charged me $60 which was amazing since there was a lot of work that needed to be done. They asked for 50% upfront so I zelled $30 since I didn't have cash cash on me. I have a wedding coming up and I made my plans to shop a little late, so I purchased a suit today, a Friday, and fly out Wednesday for the wedding. The store I purchased the perfect suit from has a tailor though, they were too booked to complete this by my flight. David down at a Neiman Marcus suggested to check our Xpress Tailoring, though when I went up I was an hour past their closing time. I looked inside the store and saw two remaining employees happily finishing their work up, and one noticed me and kindly came over. Her name was Emily, and I simply apologized for coming by when they were closed. Without question or complaint she proceeded to ask me what I needed done and by when, she asked her college if that was possible and immediately invited me in, after hours. They took my measurements, and asked what I'd like done where, though I had no idea, this is my first formal wear setting. Through some laughter, and educating they helped me decide on what to do, and now I'm extremely excited for my suit to look amazing, and on time for the wedding! I visited Xress Tailoring on a Saturday asking for a new dress to be hemmed. The seamstress asked when did I need it. I stated that I wasn't in a rush, but what was the typical turnaround? After getting no answer, I stated that I could pick it up the following Saturday. The seamstress consulted with what I gathered to be the Lead. Talking to the seamstress, the Lead stated that the charge would be $35 to hem plus $25 rush. What rush?, I stated. I'm picking it up next week, 7 days away. The lead said fine, then asked the seamstress if she was working the following Saturday. She stated yes. I was very apprehensive about leaving the dress after that ordeal, but I did. Like really??? How long does it take to hem a size 2 dress. It's not that much material! And even if I was last in the line of a slew of orders, five days should have been adequate time to get to my order. I returned to pick up the dress as promised. The hemming was perfect! I'm not sure if I will visit this location again though. It's inside the mall, which is a perfect location for shoppers with alteration needs for new purchases. However, my dress was purchased months ago from a store not in Fashion Square. I just hadn't had the time or desire to get it hemmed until that day. read more

Adriana is amazing!! I needed 4 layers of a formal gown hemmed. The top layer was lace that couldn't be hemmed at the bottom but had to be cut at the top and moved up. I initially thought they wouldn't be able to do it in the budget that my mom had set so we agreed to only do the top lace layer. But when I came back Adriana had cut and fixed all 4 layers! The dress looked exactly how I wanted it. She literally made it look like a princess gown. Will absolutely be going back in the future. read more

Bought a suit for my son at Dillard's and needed a fast alteration, less than 24 hour turnaround. The helpful person at Dillard's sent me here and I could not be more happy. Dropped the suit off at 8pm and by 10am it was ready and only $65! Only work needed were on the pants as the jacket was a perfect fit. For the amount she charged, she fixed the hem twice, because my son changed his shoe choice the next day. Which she did not charge me to fix, and was so kind about having to redo them. We really did not know that the fit would be affected by the shoe choice. Makes logical sense now. She also released the seat of the pant and waist. She also undid and released room in the inseam. Which was amazing because the suit is a modern slim suit and with my son's muscular physique you could have counted the change in his pocket! What an amazing alteration on a fast turn around. Absolutely horrible and disrespectful customer service. I brought a pair of pants in Sunday to just get the ankles brought in a little that's it. I stood on the podium with my pants fully buttoned while she pinned my lower legs. I went to pick them up on Wednesday and the pants came no where near close to being able to be buttoned. I'm talking 2-4 inches away from being buttoned. I was confused. The lady swore her doing the ankles wouldn't affect the waist. To which I replied "there's no way I gained 3 inches on my waist I've been the same size for 20 years and I just had them on Sunday and they fit perfect". She rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I asked if it was possible for them to be fixed and she said "yes". So I left them there to get fixed. I came back to pick them up and the cost went up 25 bucks. I asked "why" and they said "to fix the waist". At the point I said "look I think there was a mistake made and she accidentally took the waist in, it's just not possible for me to add 3 inches to my waist in 48 hours and my pants now fit exactly as they did Sunday when I brought them in". One lady rolled her eyes and shook her head and went back To working and the other lady shrugged her shoulders and said "I guess you did" I paid the extra 25 bucks and left. If the closures affected them that much that they need to scam people they should just increase their prices. If the attitudes would have been a little Different I wouldn't be as upset as I am but the disrespect and "I don't care attitude" is disgusting. It's blatantly obvious they took the waist in either on purpose to scam someone or on accident but were afraid to admit it. I brought in size 33 pants. I was wearing a size 33 when I picked them up. My pants fit perfectly that I was wearing. How do all my size 33 pants fit perfectly except for the ones they tailored? read more

Horrible customer service and way overpriced. Customers NEED to know what they want because they will not explain anything. For the prices they charge, it'd be nice if you can walk out the first time with the hems actually matching one another. In my opinion a great business man/ woman will fix THEIR mistakes and do whatever it takes to make the customer happy and their experience delightful. This seems far from their motto. I went to Xpress Tailoring for the first time last night and I can't tell you how impressed I was! The women were so sweet to me and i told them I was in a rush and they said no worries we will get it done in 2 hours. I had to have my dress hemmed and the slit closed a little bit. She had it done in less than 2 hours. AND THEN... as I was leaving and a button fell off of my jumpsuit i was wearing and the sweet woman with the long dark hair sewed the button on as I was standing there and didn't even make me take off my jumpsuit. Unlike others who complain about the cash only business I found them to be fast and affordable. I needed an alteration last minute and they gave me their expert opinion and turned it around in less than 24 hours. This place is a ripped off. I had my daughter's gown for prom shortened. I was charged $60 but they claimed it is only $15 charged per yard. 1 yard is equivalent to 36 inches. A long night gown if you cut to shortened would never be 144 inches long. read more

Like others I have read, my experience here was awful. Unhelpful, rude and overpriced. The shop was empty yet the employee couldn't be bothered to look up from her desk to talk to me. She I was not sure exactly what I needed and she wasn't interested in helping. Really disappointed with their service. I went in to get an inch hemmed off of my prom dress. The lady who was helping me seemed new and didnt explain the pricing to me before she did anything so after she marked the dress and i took it off she told me it was going to be $85! I asked why it was so much and she said it cost $15 per yard and I had two layers that needed to be hemmed. I said that I couldnt pay that much and she was rude thereafter about me wanting to take it somewhere else. They're not even competent enough to duplicate an existing hem when shortening pants. I brought in my new $110 NYDJ charcoal grey pants and told them to hem them exactly as is with a 29 1/4" inseam. Not rocket science. I returned and they had cut them and put some kind of top edge piece which looked so cheap and awful. Since they cut them 1/4 inch to fit in this stitch pocket they devised, they can't even be rehemmed. This place used to have talented Polish women working, not these to old women that don't even know how to hem jeans. Thanks heavens my friend forgot her 4 dresses on her counter before going there and that I had Neiman Marcus hem the new skirt I purchased. $120 loss on the pants is enough!!!! read more
