Then while getting a hair cut and beard trim the electric razor (no idea why she wasn't using the safety cap) scratched up my neck red and raw (short of blood but not by much). A nice place to relax during a lay over. I happened to run into this spot when I missed my connecting flight thanks to American Airlines. The staff were very welcoming and the massage chairs were wonderful especially after a flight. I couldn't give it 5 stars because although the ambiance and concept was great.. Had to write a review...these ladies saved my life (and by that I mean 6 week old gel nails, cracked toenails and Sasquatch-ish eyebrows - I was a hot mess!) in 45 mins so I could catch my flight!! Just got a gel manicure and pedicure while I had a layover in Miami. The girl that did my Mani said her name was V and the girl that did my nails was Paula. It was good for the convenience but the service was a bit rough and rushed and the quality was ok. I was a little disappointed that the girl could not file my nail down more for the pedi. She said there was not room but I get it done all the time so I know it could have been done. After she was done she gave me the salon slip-ons, not sure what they are called but they are like thin flip flops. She did not help me put them on she just put them in my bag for me to out on after my Mani was done. When I went to put it I had 2 of the same feet. She was MIA by that time so I had to get someone else to help me. Both Mani and Pedi came out ok, $45 for each. This was a regular prdicure. $90 total. Very over priced for the quality of service. There was no feet soak in a bucket or tub. She just used a hot towel on my feet. I ended up with polish on my hand from the gel manicure. For the price and airport service I would expect better. Assuming the rush was to be able to clock out because there was no one waiting. read more

Had 6 hours to kill on a layover heading out on vacation with my mom. When we walked by the spa, the staff were offering a massage special discount. I took them up on it, not having high expectations...I was blown away! They offered my mom a rest in the massage chair while she was waiting for me, which she enjoyed. Not only was it the quietest location in the airport, but the cleanliness and atmosphere were wonderful. The staff was friendly and efficient. Mel (Ducarmel Sekou Desormeau) is a gifted massage therapist. He took the time to find out about areas to concentrate on and listened, checking in about pressure and comfort regularly. I was suffering a migraine and he was able to relieve the tension in my neck and shoulders to begin my vacation pain free, what a gift! In addition to the amazing massage, The manager on duty, Anneline Brown, graciously mailed the Mother's Day cards I had written but could not mail from the terminal. Those cards arrived on time! Got an express mani-pedi for $72. Probably more than I would have like to pay but the massage chair did a great job of working out all my knots for the almost 60 minutes I sat in it. So, the two for one service of nails and massage were completely worth it. Stella did a fabulous job with my nails and was kind enough to let me doze off for a while. There was a 20 minute wait, but I didn't mind since its first come first serve, and I was able to enjoy the massage chair while waiting. My technician was very sweet, efficient, and thorough! The paint job is the reason. For 4 stars, although the issue could be with the nail polish and not the technique, as Essie can sometimes fail to distribute evenly. Went back in 30 min and both techs had just started pedicures and the manager didn't seem to care what he had told me- he had that - oh well mentality. I previously posted a review for this establishment the day after my services, and it was somehow deleted / removed... I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure. One technician did my hand and the other did my feet. I had gel polish on both my fingers and toes. The Gel Manicure The technician took over an hour just removing the gel polish. I usually do my gel manicures at home, and removal takes me 15 - 20 minutes. I honestly don't believe that the technician that did my nails was a trained / licensed manicurist, but rather a hairstylist. She didn't know the proper procedures for gel polish removal, nor did she do any basic manicure functions (Push back cuticles, trim and re-shape). After the gel polish was removed, she very sloppily applied the gel polish and gel was applied past my cuticles running onto the skin and into the sidewalls and side skin. It was the longest and messiest manicure I have ever had, not to mention one of the most expensive. The Pedicure I chose the most expensive pedicure based on the manicurist's recommendation before she had begun the gel removal process. Another technician came over to do the pedicure and was done in about 15 minutes. The lady doing the manicure suggested that I leave the gel polish on my toes, which was fine with me as it was still in tact, but the pedicure was very lackluster, and when she finished, I was left with green feet from the masque (which I didn't see until after I left due to the poor lighting). Overall the concept is great and it could work, but they really need to train the technicians. I sort of get the feeling that because they are not catering to or depending on the business of regular / repeat customers that the quality of service isn't really focused on. read more

Stopped by with a friend between flights. The entire staff welcomed U.S. and we were treated to the greatest massage I have ever experienced. Alian (I think I spelled it right) was amazing! I rarely write reviews. But I just got probably the best massage I've ever gotten and had to share. I won't say it was the most relaxing or the most luxurious. But if you are aching, the chair massage here does wonders. I had Ricky, and he quickly located the stress knots and worked many of them out in 15 minutes. It hurt so bad but I could feel my body starting to actually relax. Physically. He gave me a number of tips to help keep the knots away and he let us hang out in the massage chairs with relaxing hot packs until our flight a few hours later. I had been painting for 3 days and had a raging headache with tight shoulders. I walked into the spa and was given over to Bryant. He gave me the results of a 1 1/2 hour massage in a 30 minute chair massage. It was unbelievable. I was actually lightheaded from all the endorphins surging throughout my body. It hurt so good! Don't waste your time going here!! I discovered this spa when we were transiting last time we were in Miami Airport and was excited to try it on our next transit. I wanted a manicure for Christmas and booked in for an express mani on Christmas Eve. The lady I had was very nice but did a horrendous job on my nails - both the shape and the polish. To start with I wanted the same round shape just a couple of millimetres shorter but she cut my nails with nail clippers (very short, square and at a slight angle on some nails) then only used the nail file to make the edges less sharp - pretty lazy. The salon is not very well lit, so I didn't notice how unevenly my nails had been shaped before she applied the colour. Some nails were much shorter than others. The polish was applied unevenly: the first coat was patchy which meant that the end result was also patchy. Also the polish was applied messily so it went all over the skin around the nail. The manicurist tried to fix this by removing the excess with a paintbrush - this resulted in a bit of the polish on the nail being thinned on the sides of the nails. Quick dry drops were then applied - too soon as it caused the top layer of polish to be diluted in the middle of several nails (one very badly). I had already paid and tipped before application of the drops, and had a flight to catch, so didn't think I could do anything about it. My flight was delayed so I went back and expressed my disappointment with the state of my nails (which looked quite horrendous in the harsher light of the main airport). The lady at reception agreed that my nails should be redone but told me I would have to wait for the same lady to fix them - she had just started on a Shellac mani, so I didn't have time to wait that long. There was another lady free, but for some reason she wasn't allowed to fix my nails. The receptionist went away to ask the manager what could be done, she came back after 10 minutes and told me I could use the polishes and do it myself if I couldn't wait for my original manicurist(!!) I did! The receptionist took the polish off the worst nail and I reapplied the polish myself - the polish was a different bottle and although the same colour came out slightly lighter - no-one's fault, of course, but not an ideal result! I was offered a $15 refund (less than half of what I originally paid). read more
