The studio has a tight knit community and there are some of the best coaches around...BUT it saddens me to say the studio has been in a downward spiral of neglect. There are machines that are consistently broken, tablets that randomly shut off, the equipment is worn, weights are chipped, dust bunnies live behind the weight racks, walls need repairs etc. We are the smallest studio - only 10 stations - it is tight on the floor- and it feels like we are gravely neglected by the owner. We, the members, take great pride in being an OTF devotee, but it is to the point people I care about are cancelling their membership to go to the Pilates studio next door or some other exercise outlet. This shouldn't be. We have tried to appeal to the franchise owner to take pride in the facility and uphold the standard of the brand - but as I was once told by one of the managers "we are overflow studio" so it seems our requests fall on deaf ears. Do better! Show the dedicated members the experience that is commensurate with the high dues we pay to attend the class. I look forward to changing the review to celebrate fixes that I hope will be coming.

We continuously have broken equipment, which take forever to fix and waitlist for classes because equipment is OLD and breaks down frequently so stations are closed. We've tried to resolve this issue with the owner Gary Hirsch, sent him emails and letters collectively as members, and haven't heard back from him. Studios around the area have newer treadmills and weights, plus functioning rowers, yet we are stuck with super old equipment that are hazardous and stop working abruptly leading to possible injuries. Many people are cancelling their membership until the studio is upgraded. It's time to upgrade this studio asap!

The sign-up process was easy, and Josh immediately made me feel comfortable by clearly explaining how everything works. Coach Lee MADE the experience. She guided the class so well and gently corrected my form throughout without ever making me feel singled out or behind. The workout was intense but manageable. I could go at my own pace while still keeping up, burned around 600 calories, and definitely felt it the next day. What really stood out was the support. Lee helped me choose a membership that actually fit my needs without upselling, and both her and Josh were incredibly patient with all my questions. I walked in anxious and left feeling proud and excited to come back, which says everything.

They are always warm, welcoming, and genuinely make members feel valued from the moment they walk in. 3 stars for some (not all) of the other coaches. At times, they seem to engage more passively with the class and expect members to approach them with questions, rather than proactively checking in, offering form corrections, or coaching throughout the workout. 1 star for the app. It is persistently glitchy and seems to have recurring technical issues that make scheduling and managing classes more frustrating than it should be. -1 star for converting classes to a 1G format when attendance is low. While I understand it may be more convenient for the coach, it often means everyone is crowded into an already small workout space. As a member, the experience feels cramped and uncomfortable. I would much rather spread out across the room, even if there are fewer people in class. -1 star for the extras to make this a more organized studio- like the stickers on the weight racks. Dumbbells are always misplaced.

The workouts are hard, but you can make them your own. If you don't want to run, you can power walk! You're in charge of your own treadmill. If you can't do an exercise on the weight floor, your coach can help you make adjustments and find something you can do. They're so accommodating. Plus, the studio itself is super clean (has a shower and lockers for your stuff!), and the staff is just the nicest. There are tons of class times available each day, and you can easily book via the app. Lots of fun activities and challenges you can take part in, too. I'm happy when I'm here, even when I'm sweating like crazy. Coaches are the BEST - Donnie, Matthew, Astrid, and Richie will all make you smile, even when you're huffing and puffing on the treadmill. Front desk team (Aria, Lesley, Beth, and Molly) are all gems who always make me feel welcome.

I appreciated how he kindly called me out that I wasn't on the "standard" 1% incline on my run on the treadmill which is the "base incline" for running. The other major part that made my experience exceptional was because the person at the front desk was so hospitable and welcoming. Since I was dropping in for the first time to this location she gave me a little quick tour which I don't always get where she walked with me to show me the different types of bathrooms & showers available and where the lockers were. She was even able to guide me about the free parking lot structure around the corner from Orange to the right. I think she made this experience top notch and an exemplar of how it should feel every time you walk in an Orangetheory location. I now love this location because they offer the "tread" workout which I seek high and low for around town at 5:30am! Love, love, love!

After attending Stride, I'll probably switch over to this studio instead. First off, I really like that Stride is inclusive to all fitness levels and give options for both walkers and runners. It has a range of different treadmill levels for Levels 1-4. This allows me to self-regulate and go easier or faster depending on how I'm feeling that day. This allows me to sufficiently warm up and I feel like I'm getting the most out of my workout. You only switch once during the combo so I definitely can take my time and do quality reps. Seriously there is nothing more annoying that switching between workouts super quickly and I don't even have time to catch my breath so please keep this format!

Game changer and much better use of space. I've been liking this new format because it added room for the strength and weight-training portion of the class. The benches are really nice and each bench has your own set of weights ranging from 7.5 to 25 pounds. Not having to get the weights you think you'll need for class is really helpful. For me, I still average around 2-3 miles per Combo class and that's perfect for me. This new format helps me hit more muscle groups than before! I also like the screens showing the strength moves on the strength side so it's easier to remember. Instructors and staff are all still amazing and welcoming. Definitely a class worth checking out!

Committing to just one gym is difficult when each person goes through their productive, creative, or hibernation periods. I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. Yes, I'm talking to you "New Year, New Me'rs". The time is right around the corner and I promise it's a sweet compliment to the place.

Top tier in my book. The neighborhood is super cute, parking is easy, and the facility is clean. So what's not to like? I'm just not a fan of the Montrose studio over their other locations. The room gets so hot and we're not even in the dead of summer yet. I'm not sure if A/C is limited or what's going on with the ventilation. Also, the layout of the space is narrow but long. Machines are spread out with enough space in between each other, but they're basically stacked vertically (one behind another for a few rows). It does seem to be the most space-conscious arrangement for what they are working with, but it's hard to follow if you're all the way in the back and the instructor is demo'ing a new move or if the instructor is newer or not superbly clear throughout class. If this studio location is close to you, do NOT skip on Motivate! Bring grip socks (if you don't want to buy them there) and be on time. If you're early, check out the boutiques and mom-in-pops along Honolulu Avenue. Choose a machine in or near the front unless you're a regular.
