Jenah is an absolute artist. Once you speak to her, you will immediately feel at ease and know that you have selected the right florist. She is always available to speak with her clients and pays *SUCH* attention to detail. From the initial proposal you receive through the date of your event, working with Xylem and Phloem is seriously a dream. My husband and I met with Jenah prior to our wedding and we were both so impressed with how knowledgeable she is and also, how easy she is to talk to about your vision. Her passion is only exceeded by her talent. We had a certain budget in mind that we didn't want to go over. Jenah worked with us to make sure our vision was brought to life while not going over this amount. I walked into our wedding venue (The Metropolitan Building in LIC) and was speechless. She had basically taken our vision and made it 1000x better than we could have ever imagined. So many of our guests called us after the wedding to ask who created everything and how Jenah was able to source such big, beautiful flowers. Another special touch- Jenah walked me around the entire space to show me the arrangements and make sure I loved them. She brought over my bouquet (which was the prettiest I've ever seen) to ensure it was what I wanted so she could make any necessary changes (none were needed- it was breathtaking). My husband later told me that she made 2 boutineers for him to choose from. She takes the time to think ahead and really gives you choices right until the moment you walk down the aisle. Our flowers by Jenah and the team at Xylem & Phloem were SPECTACULAR! We were simply blown away. Jenah listened so closely to what I described and then made it even more beautiful than I could have possibly imagined, with incredibly thoughtful attention to detail. I had very specific requests in terms of colors and flower varieties, and Jenah followed them exactly, while also creating beauty that exceeded my expectations AND staying within our budget. Booking and making payments online was so simple with Xylem & Phloem's easy system, and the quote was written in such lovely prose that it created an inspiring vision of the floral design - and they were even more beautiful in real life! I especially loved the delphinium she tucked into the stunning bridal bouquet as a surprise "something blue." Jenah also created adorable and whimsical flower crowns for the flower girls. At the end of the night while we were getting ready to leave, I just stood admiring the gorgeous entryway arrangement. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the flowers. Jenah did such an amazing job with everything and are a true artist. Her team was also so great in terms of delivery, and we really appreciate that that were able to make it work delivering to a second address. They really went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly. I am so grateful for the way that the flowers by Xylem & Phloem transformed our wedding day! We used Jenah for our March 2012 wedding and loved her. From the initial meeting, where she sat me down and walked me through the flowers that would be available during the early spring, to the moment she handed me my bouquet (which I was - and still am - obsessed with), we knew we were in the right hands. We hired Jenah from Xylem and Phloem for our Fall 2011 wedding (so this review is overdue!). We waited until the last minute to hire a florist since we couldn't seem to find the right person. From the moment we met Jenah, we knew she would be the right fit for our event. She is very professional and very passionate about her work, and she had a calming presence, which is a great quality when dealing with stressed out brides! On our first meeting, she spent several uninterrupted hours listening to us describe our vision for the day and telling us her ideas on how she could bring that vision to life, going so far as to visiting the venue with us and showing us what she could do. She emailed us a detailed proposal immediately after our meeting and we really appreciated how quickly she worked on it. And, after reviewing it, we were amazed at just how much she "got it." She completely understood our personalities and what we were envisioning. She also realizes the importance of budgeting for a wedding and we did not feel pressure from her to spend more than we wanted. She assured us that she would stay within our budget, but still create a beautiful ambiance and she did just that. On the day of the wedding, we were absolutely blown away with how beautiful everything looked. There was not one detail overlooked and everything exceeded our expectations. My favorite aspect of the room was the escort table. I had bought some cheap, clear plastic containers to put escort cards in (the containers were ugly, but they were the only ones I could find to fit the cards) and Jenah promised me that she would do something great with them, maybe cover them in moss. After Jenah waved her magic wand over this table, it ended up looking like something out of an enchanted forest. And my bouquet... it was stunning. As I don't know much about flowers, I gave Jenah free reign over my bouquet. I'm not sure how she did it, but she truly captured my personality in my bouquet, if that's even possible. Jenah made our day so special and beautiful. She is just a pleasure to work with and has amazing style and vision. I would recommend her highly to anyone! read more

I cannot recommend Xylem and Phloem enough! They are the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! Everyone who has worked with Jenah and her team will tell you- she is a color genius and is a pro at interpreting what her clients want! We got married at the Metropolitan Building in LIC this past May and she was recommended by the venue. She took the time to do a VERY in depth consultation with us at our venue before we even discussed a contract. We walked through the venue together, getting ideas for the florals and the event as a whole, went through all the details and she worked hard to tailor our floral plan to our needs. Jenah was so understanding when we had a budget change, and she really helped me reallocate our budget where it would make the biggest impact (even late in the game, we were able to make changes as necessary). In the end the flowers were the talk of the wedding!!! It was a work of art and the thoughtfulness and detail that went into the design is hard to even put into words! Really the flowers created the entire atmosphere of our event and she was able to execute my vision far better than I could have expected (even without me being able to verbalize what I wanted-she just knew!) Jenah has such a wonderful, discerning eye and amazing aesthetic; she was my go-to when I needed design advise on other aspects of the event. Seriously she is the best vendor you could ever ask for! we used jenah for my daughter's wedding in october. the entrance and ceremony arrangements were drop-dead gorgeous! the girl's bouquets were elegant and thoughtfully composed. even the boutonnieres had an interesting look. the combinations of floral and greenery throughout were just so interesting! i'm not usually impressed by wedding flowers, so her work really stood out. very thorough preparation, flawless execution, reasonably priced. read more

I can't recommend Jenah Barry of Xylem & Phloem highly enough. From initial contact through the wedding day, she was the perfect vendor. Flowers are clearly the love of her life. She asked all kinds of questions to make sure that the arrangements she created for us matched every element in our wedding, from Mother of the Bride and Groom's dresses to our chuppah cloth to the venue itself. I asked for flowers in jewel tones of blues, purples, and fuchsias, and she gave me these colors in forms I couldn't even have imagined. As the wedding date got closer, she informed me of the types of flowers that were looking wonderful, and added peonies (a flower that we hadn't discussed, but that I love) to my bouquet. She took inspiration from the butterflies on our chuppah cloth and added flowers and butterflies to the chuppah decoration. She created all kinds of arrangements that were so exquisite, I was speechless. She also helped so much during our last meeting at our venue to calm our nerves and make us feel like we were in good hands. And we made several changes during the last week that she was completely responsive and flexible about (even reworking the contract a little to provide for extra decoration on the chuppah). I had no doubt that she would create a wonderland of stunning flowers, and she exceeded even my highest expectations. I cannot say enough positivity things about my experience with Jenah of Xylem and Phloem. Jenna provided the flowers for my wedding in September 2016. Though I was getting married in an industrial space, I had a very specific vision for the vibe I wanted: a whimsical, enchanted forest, magical feel. Jenah executed my vision flawlessly. My flowers were absolutely breathtaking. From the moment I met Jenah--she made sure to set up a meeting in person to walk through the venue space and share potential ideas and suggestions with me--I could tell she was a true artist; flowers are just her medium. When Jenah found out my passion was cooking, she proposed adding some wild herbs and fig leaves to the arrangements to acknowledge my culinary fondness. I loved that personal touch! Jenah is knowledgable, experienced, extremely kind, creative, and helpful. When the concept we had discussed priced out at about double my budget, she thoughtfully and carefully helped me cut costs while maintaining the look I wanted. On the day of, Jenah had some extra flowers leftover from my chupah, so she created a beautiful garland on the fly for no extra cost. As far as aesthetics go, the floral arrangements were no doubt the highlight of the wedding. I cannot sing my praises for Jenah enough. read more
