Because Tulsa has a log of gym options and Genesis promotes itself as a Luxury gyms. This might of been true when it first opened but is no longer so. Is not that they lack amenities but the gym is starting to look a bit run down for a luxury gym and they try to do too many things and some of them are not well done. Lots of equipment that is starting to show wear and Luxury gyms usually replace the equipment if they can't fix it up to a high standard. More is not better a prime example of that is their Functional fitness room, it's disorganized, dirty lots of equipment there that just doesn't make sense or fit their market share Accessories, totes and stuff thrown all over the gym makes it look disorganize and is unnecessary. Now the good: Genesis is quiet space, members are polite and everyone stays to themselves. They offer a packed class schedule and Personal training have a decent selection of Free weights, Machines and Cardio equipment. Their market is for the Master bodybuilder, seniors, parents that need childcare that want to keep to themselves and just want to get their work in. Well appointed Locker rooms with showers are well kept. Shot out to the new guy at the front desk is polite, eager to learn and grow and is hard to find employees now in days. My hat of to the guy who cleans in the morning, he's always hard work moving fast and running all over the gym getting the job done. Everyone I interacted with was polite and nice.

The facility is poorly maintained, with dirty broken equipment, and unsanitary locker rooms. The staff overall is helpful, other than one front desk guy who lacks any customer service skills. There are never any towels available for the workout areas or the locker rooms. The steam room is rarely cleaned, has debris on the floor, and either doesn't work or scalds your skin. Additionally, this is the second year in a row where the AC doesn't work, making it extremely uncomfortable to workout. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-maintained workout environment. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Plenty of squat racks and free weights. Friendly staff. And being a former competitive power lifter, I really appreciated the powerlifting room that was full of quality equipment from Texas Strength Systems and Rogue Fitness. Not to mention the three full sets of kilo plates which is something I haven't seen at many gyms. I think it's great there is a general fitness area that still has deadlift platforms and squat racks and a dedicated powerlifting room. They also just recently added a cardio balcony that I forgot to take a picture of but it's a nice view while doing cardio to overlook the gym. Overall, this is a great gym that I would recommend to anyone from a beginner to a serious competitive lifter like myself. Great gym!

Why give black card members free passes for guests and bc the member leaves, you kick the guest out mid-set? Wild behavior. Now I know some people get greedy with power. However, it is absurd to think its okay for an employee to interrupt sets to kick a "guest" out. Look up the meaning guest ya goofs. Guest- "a person who is invited to visit the home of or take part in a function organized by another/ a person to whom hospitality is extended". Tells you how to treat them in the definition. Lets not call it "Guest" anymore. Call it something else.

The cleanliness of the facility is generally good, though temperature and lighting could be improved as it is very bright and very hot in there. My primary concerns are the use of tripods and video recording, which seems unrestricted, and the differing expectations for male and female attire, as the males are asked to keep their shirts on, while the females walk around in nothing more than a bra and panties. Implementing a universal dress code requiring shirts would promote a more inclusive environment. Moreover, moderating the music volume and diversifying the playlist would cater to a broader range of preferences as I'm sure most people would agree we do not want to listen to songs by Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys from their very first albums. And they warn you that if you cancel before you've been a member, they will charge you another $25. BUT- THEY ALSO CHARGE YOU FOR AN EXTRA MONTH when you cancel. I joined in January. I cancelled today (June 25). That means I was a member for 6 months and was exempt from the $25 cancellation fee. Just minutes after I cancelled my membership on the app, my bank was charged another $14 for the month of July. Apparently it was in the fine print of the sign up documents that they would do this. Here is the email I received from their Customer Support: Hello Michelle, The terms on the membership are a 30 days' notice for cancellation. Anything owed up until the date of cancellation and any payments set to draft in the next 30 days are owed. We apologize that you were unaware of this policy as it is in the membership agreement signed at the start of each membership. We love having you apart of the VASA Fitness family and want to have you stick around! We wanted to offer a one month credit to your membership if you'd like to stay. Please let us know if you'd like to have the one month credit placed, or continue with cancelling your membership. It was 10AM on a Saturday and no one was there. There is access to the gym 24/7 with a membership ($30 or $35 a month). They have cardio machines and a lot of weight equipment. I was nervous but ready to go! I met with a personal trainer since I am no where near my goal. His name was Judge. HOLY, there was no messing around. We got to work and worked the entire 45 minutes! There was little rest and he kept my muscles and me focused on the task at hand. Super kind and very motivating. By the time I left I couldn't wait for the next session. No nerves, no intimidation just motivation! I noticed the gym didn't have a Yelp review, but I am telling you if you are looking for a low key gym, who surrounds you with good people and good equipment or if you need a trainer ($35/session for 1 (group rates too)) OR you are into competing, want to reach a goal, etc.... this is the place to come.
