As a regular VASA member for six months plus, I have observed the gym's crowd levels, which, while sometimes busy, are more manageable compared to other gyms. The staff's professionalism and welcoming nature are notable. The cleanliness of the facility is generally good, though temperature and lighting could be improved as it is very bright and very hot in there. My primary concerns are the use of tripods and video recording, which seems unrestricted, and the differing expectations for male and female attire, as the males are asked to keep their shirts on, while the females walk around in nothing more than a bra and panties. Implementing a universal dress code requiring shirts would promote a more inclusive environment. Moreover, moderating the music volume and diversifying the playlist would cater to a broader range of preferences as I'm sure most people would agree we do not want to listen to songs by Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys from their very first albums. So much broken and repairs take forever. Safety hazard. Dirty. No soap in bathroom. Why is it so hot in here? Random beeping by pool area. Poor signage for closed pool or jacuzzi. Pool closed 4 days in a row. Button for steam room broken. Sauna was out for a month. Weight machines stay broken. Free weight section only has a few of the lower weight dumbells which everyone uses yet an excess of the larger weights. No water fountain by pool, sauna and hot tub - Have to walk into main gym and track water. Dangerous. Large staff turnover, and have heard from 3 former employees this is a terrible place to work and they don't care about their members, clients or employees. read more

As you can see from other reviews. this business is unethical when it comes to cancelling. They already charge you a $60 fee to sign up, before your monthly membership fee. And they warn you that if you cancel before you've been a member, they will charge you another $25. BUT- THEY ALSO CHARGE YOU FOR AN EXTRA MONTH when you cancel. I joined in January. I cancelled today (June 25). That means I was a member for 6 months and was exempt from the $25 cancellation fee. Just minutes after I cancelled my membership on the app, my bank was charged another $14 for the month of July. Apparently it was in the fine print of the sign up documents that they would do this. Here is the email I received from their Customer Support: Hello Michelle, The terms on the membership are a 30 days' notice for cancellation. Anything owed up until the date of cancellation and any payments set to draft in the next 30 days are owed. We apologize that you were unaware of this policy as it is in the membership agreement signed at the start of each membership. We love having you apart of the VASA Fitness family and want to have you stick around! We wanted to offer a one month credit to your membership if you'd like to stay. Please let us know if you'd like to have the one month credit placed, or continue with cancelling your membership. I work in the Fitness space and recently moved to Tulsa. Enjoy checking out different gyms and have done so many times while traveling. Been checking out different gyms in Tulsa and this more of an informative review. VASA Fitness model is the Planet Fitness without the Lunk with amazing low cost membership prices and a focus in selling lots of memberships while delivering everything you could want from a big box gym opened 4AM to 12 AM. This gym has it All! Separate cardio Machines section, at the time of my visit the rowers were still being set up and I found out that the leak on the roof has been there for a while with rowers being rain on. This seems a bit neglectful and is the only reason why I'm giving it a four at this point Two functional Fitness areas with loads of equipment some very nice medicine balls, loads of Kettlebells up to 88 lbs which typically are not found in Big box gyms. NightClub vibe Spin bike studio for classes. Barre and Group Fitness Studio Pool and Hot tub Basketball Courts Large and clean Lockeroom with showers Huge DB area with Heavy DB's Large Machine area with everything from Cables, to Plate loaded machines. Massage Tables Personal Training Pad Best of all for me a separate area with 8 Olympic weightlifting/ Powerlifting with squat racks and bumper plates. The one thing I wasn't clear on but also did not see any signs saying not to do was dropping weights for The olympic Weighlifter/Crossfitter/Powerlifter. I did do some snatches and Clean and Jerks but they were light and I brought them down with control. The reason why I said I wasn't clear on that is because lots of gyms will have Platforms and bumper plates and still have a no dropping policy or members that will complain, I hope that's not the case here because this the right set up for it and it's separate from any other equipment. The plethora of negative reviews scared me at first, so on my first day I made sure I asked what the cancellation process was like and everything I'd be charged for. What the front desk told me on my first day is true to what member services explained on my last day. I was only in town for a few months for work so I knew I would be cancelling. Member services handled it painlessly and I didn't get any phantom charges. The reason I found VASA worth it was because they have EVERYTHING you would want. I wish i could pick up this gym and bring it home with me. Even when it's packed they have so much equipment I haven't had to wait for anything. People have also complained about price, which made me chuckle. This gym could easily cost $150-200/month in other US cities. Full pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, locker room with showers, tanning, massage, cardio movie room, functional area, Olympic platform room, free weights, machines, bball court, group classes, studio red (higher priced membership), daycare. So my son takes my younger two kids to the gym last night. He had no problem checking in him self and his sister but when it came to his brother there was an issue. One of the managers on duty asked for my youngest son's ID, but he's 16 and only has a school ID which they don't accept, the manager asked for his birthday and last name which led to him proceed to tell them that they aren't brothers. My older son insisted that they are brothers and the manager asks if they live together and my oldest says "no" so the manager again says that they aren't brothers. Then the manager asks for my youngest son's legal papers. So I go in today to talk to a manager, Traci, about what happened and was told that the manager last night meant to say that he needed to see legal guardianship papers in order to bring my son to the gym (not my daughter) which is also not stated in the guest paperwork. The only difference is that my youngest son has darker skin than the other two. Now I am considering the mission and values of Vasa Fitness. There is no where on the bylaws that a guest under the age of 21 needs to come with a parent, just with someone over the age of 21 nor do guardianship papers need to be shown. I returned to Vasa with the guardianship paperwork, showed it to Traci and told her that I would be back with my youngest son for an apology. She told me that no apology would be given and that I needed to leave the premises immediately. My, my husbands and my older sons membership is still valid but they won't let us back in. read more

They also have a cross-functional training area that has mats, weights, balls, and rollers. They even have a Fitness Cinema with a schedule of movies every day! There's free wi-fi for members. One of their best things they offer is the Hydro-Massage Lounge. They have 10 beds available and you can check one out for 10 minutes at a time. It is MAGICAL. This alone is worth the membership! I really enjoy this gym during my trial free class. I don't have a credit card but I wanted to sign up - I was told that cash was an "unreliable source". I asked if I could pay cash up to three months in advance or more and was declined. Something is wrong with that. Went online and did a 3 day free trial. Just a heads up, this gym is entirely based off money and they do not genuinely value you as a person at all outside of what you're paying them. The atmosphere from the employees is terrible they had no customer service skills at all. That being said I will say the work out area, turf area, basketball court, stretch area were all very nice plenty of equipment to use during a busy time of day and the people in the gym outside of the employees meaning other guest and members were very helpful and friendly. That made the environment better. And the only reason this is getting a 2 star. Another very important note for price is you should be getting towel service so you don't have to bring your own towel for people who may not of come from home or even planned on going to the gym that day and lockers that come with pre locks on them instead of having to bring your own lock to guarantee safety. It's a very nice well paid gym. Things like that wouldn't be hard to upgrade to. The wet sauna area. I'll say this. If you're looking to get steam you have an unlimited source here. The steam room will have you running out but it's a good heat and a good steam. The only issue is the terrible mildew smell. It smelled horrible no one wants to breathe that In. This was a tough review. I was between 3 and 4 stars. PROS: The equipment is AWESOME. Super clean gym. Neat that they have a cheap tier membership. CONS: Some of the workers are just not good at all. Their contract is hard to cancel and fight cancelations hard. More of an environment for people who are already fit. A month before COVID I joined and agreed to pay $80 every 2 weeks for a trainer. I saw the trainer twice, then COVID took everything to a grinding halt. I haven't been back since, and have moved but have had to continue paying the fees due to the contract. Two weeks ago they double charged me 2 times. (Total of $320 dollars) I called and they said it was because of the auto renewal, but said they would cancel it and and reimburse me $80 and my contract was fulfilled. Two weeks later, not only have they not reimbursed me, but they withdrawn another $80. I am on never ending hold with the seperate company that manages their contracts/dues. Excellent fitness classes -Zumba is amazing -I love Monica and Marieka and Tara and Josh and Hannah and I know all the other instructors are phenomenal such as Linda who I went to at the Y a long time ago and Kelly is great as well. I tried out the 3 day free trial workout experience here just a couple of weeks ago and I was very excited to see what they had to offer. Unfortunately I wasn't offered a tour, nor did I make any classes within the short time I got to visit. However, there machines were great, in clean and in working order. The abs and stretching area was spacious! I went specifically for the pool and sauna. The pool wasn't crowded, and I was happily surprised to find it was salt water! It was a comfortable temperature, depth, and length; as it was also spacious (three lanes) and clean. The communal sauna was nice and big as well! They offered a swimsuit ringer machine in the locker room, I thought that was neat. Their showers offered soap, that actually smelled good which was nice because I left mine. There were several t.v.s, machines, and a basketball court! Overall, I am very happy with my experience and will hopefully get a membership if I stick around town. Vasa is my happy place. I can't say enough good things. When you signup, there are no crazy gimmicks or surprise fees. I have the medium membership which gives me access to the whole gym, group fitness, sauna, pool, steam room, basketball, tanning, and massage. The only thing I don't have access to is team training. The group fitness is AMAZING. This place is super clean, 90% of the people who workout there are cool, and the vibe is seriously just great. read more

The gym itself is okay but DO NOT buy the MyZone belt through them. I pinched my penny's to be able to afford it and I got a defective belt. They said they wouldn't do anything and I had to contact the company. It makes no sense to sell a product you can't help your customers with. You can't exchange it or refund it but you're happy to take the 80.00 dollars for it. I also had to go through several employees before I was told it could not be refunded. This gym is truly horrible! They are always over crowded and their workout classes are a joke with teachers who barely know more than I do. And the worst part of this gym is that they lure you in with cheap prices but will constantly slap you with all kinds of fees until you owe them hundreds. I was late for one payment and after charging me for that they then proceeded to attempt to run my card several times that day and each time it didn't go through they added on an additional charge. The location in Tulsa OK, was a complete and utter joke. We wanted to try the gym out for a month and see how we liked it. Only took two days to make up our minds. Over crowded and poor equipment access. The staff was very rude and seemed to care less about any questions we had. We were not told about a cancelation fee or that they needed a 30 day notice t cancel. We were also not told that a guest could not use anything except the floor equipment. They do not provide towels or locks and the pool is a very small divided lane pool for laps only.
