We've used this rental property management company for various places over the last few years. We absolutely love the Yachats area and there are a nice variety of rental properties to choose from. Their listings include houses and condos available in all sizes, some pet friendly, some with hot tubs, some with fireplaces, and some with even a garage to park in! The check-in and check-out times are reasonable, as well as cleaning fees. Everyone I've worked with for our reservations have been helpful and accommodating. It is so unfortunate that we have to submit this review. Over the last two years we have rented about 10 vacation homes from Sweet Homes and we have never had an issue with them. I believe that the majority of our rentals have been Moondance Cabin in Waldport. My wife and I are in our 70's- 80's, so we like familiarity , quiet and comfort. As such, Moondance Cabin is essentially our home away from home. The house is larger than we need but it works for us. Over the years, we have made minor requests such as asking for more kitchen ware and such so that we know what to expect when we arrive. Each time we arrive we check out the house and report back to Sweet Homes on items that need attention, not only for us but for the next tenant as well. Management has been very responsive in the past but we noticed the change this past June and July of this year (2026). In June we reported that two of the bathroom sinks were sluggish and should be cleaned out and the trap was not working. We also said that the rug in front of the kitchen sink should be replaced because it was old and slippery. We wife slipped on the rug and nearly fell. Management said that they will report it to the team but they did not take care of it while we were there. When we returned in July 14-21, we noticed that these same items were not taken care of. We also noted the following upon our arrival: - The floor in front of the fireplace was sticky - The same old rug was in front of the kitchen sink - The bathroom sinks were still sluggish Worst of all, on our second night, the smoke/CO monitor in our bedroom went off at 2am and 5am. Nevertheless to say, it was a shocker! I had to remove the monitor and placed it in another room. When I reported to management the next morning I didn't hear from them for two days. I texted them again and they texted back and asked me to replace the batteries in the monitor. I texted back and said the monitor is battery-less and that the monitor needs to be replaced. He then texted me back to say that it will be reported to the maintenance team. After this second request I reminded him that the monitors are safety issues and are required to be working at all times. A young man finally showed up that afternoon to replace the defective monitor. We had also reserved this house for August 5-12, 2026. One week before our arrival on July 28, Cory called me and said he was canceling our reservation. I asked him why and why so late? He said my Texts were very "Mean". Of course, I was in shock and very confused on why he would cancel our reservation. I asked him if he would read me the Texts where I was "Mean ". He then accused me of being "Mean " to him on the phone and said he will blackball me from ever renting from Sweet Homes from now on. After trying to understand what set Cory off, I called Sweet Homes back the next morning and talked to Kim. She essentially said that whatever happened is between me and Cory. I asked Kim to ask Cory to call me back so I could understand what happened. I have yet to receive his call. I do not use any profanity in the texts and I use the words like Please and Thank you quite often. At this point, I am at a loss of what happened and why Cory reacted as he did. Having said all this, I have noticed that Sweet Homes have not been as responsive to requests as they have been in the past. It's so unfortunate. I am willing to discuss this issue with Sweet Homes but they are not willing to talk to me. Baffled and confused right now. read more

Tidal Destination is a gorgeous property with stunning views and owners who have clearly put great love into their home. Sadly, our two-week stay in Feb. and March -- planned as a celebration of a 78th birthday -- was significantly undermined by Sweet Homes' mismanagement. We arrived to a freezing house with a broken heat pump. Over the first two days we made 16 calls to Sweet Homes, most of which went unanswered for hours. VRBO ultimately had to intervene. Both suggested moving us to another property. Sweet Homes offered one nearby the first night, but we were exhausted from a very long drive and the whole unpacking process. And we had chosen this property specifically for its fenced yard for our two small dogs; alternate properties couldn't match that. Space heaters helped, together with the gas fireplace and baseboard heaters in the bedrooms and baths, but it was still drafty. A technician eventually came, but even with express-shipped parts the heat pump was never repaired. We went the entire two weeks without it. Additional issues included a broken ice maker, missing fireplace remote, non-working DVD players, and a home that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned--dusty surfaces, cobwebs, and dirty windows that obscured the beautiful views when sunlight broke through. We also wish Sweet Homes had warned us about the hazardous beach access, particularly since they knew our ages. We lost at least three days of our vacation to these problems. The owners deserve far better management. read more

Took my mom & her pup on a coastal trip to Florence, Oregon using Sweet Homes. They have over 90 dog-friendly properties up & down the coast, so it was an easy sell. Our riverfront rental was a dream, right on the water, free parking out front & literal steps to Old Town Florence. Our rental was clean & everyone we spoke to was communicative. Waldport, Alicia by the Sea, June 2025 PROS: Very nice house, amazing views with quick, easy beach access just out your door. Kitchen had plenty of storage, was well organized and had nicer appliances. Beds were all comfortable, bedding clean with ample selection of pillows. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Yard was well maintained and free of pet waste; hot tub and BBQ worked. Nice selection of games in the garage that appeared to be in pretty good condition. CONS: Obvious pet urine smell upon entering. Living room area rug was visibly dirty, had multiple stains (small to dinner plate size), smelled horrible and was full of matted dog hair. How is this okay to leave in place for guests?!! Living room slider door has no screen, lock is broken and door is secured with a piece of wood in the track. Several shades are non-functional and kept open with zip ties, making afternoon sun an issue. Loose pills on the floor at the edge of the bed in the primary, which the dog found!! Queen room floor was dirty, including several dead bugs next to the night stands...same in the primary. Game room was musty to the point we were not comfortable being in there at all. Heater in the bathroom next to the laundry room randomly turned on the first night. Four nights later heater in the queen bedroom turned on twice. Both heater knobs were in the off position. We would not return given the overt lack of cleanliness and indifference to basic maintenance. read more

Our family's stay @the "Yachats on the Rocks" home, some highlights- Mice, mice feces/urine, decaying flies, burnt out lightbulbs, dishes put away filthy w/dried food from past guests & so much more. It took Sweet Homes over 24hrs to place mouse traps which proved to literally be playhouses for the mice. The traditional "snap traps" we bought & set actually killed 2 mice. Worse than the gross factor of the unsanitary rodent presence, was our dealings w/Sweet Homes. How does that go about "treat others like you want to be treated..." In this, they fail a 1000 times over. My texts/emails to them re the mice during, & after our stay was highly frustrating. The "sorry" we got from them came two weeks after we'd checked out. The number of times my questions to them went unanswered or glossed over was ridiculous. Do expect if you contact them about mice in a rental, they'll quickly issue a 5% refund, and a dismissive comportment while they're at it. I went back/forth w/them, detailing our complaints, and (I thought) courteously asking for a higher refund because, well, mice are gross AF & a home charging this much nightly should not be rented in the condition we found. When I finally got their employee to today confirm they were unwilling to refund a more appropriate amount (two weeks after we'd started this convo w/them), I asked the name of whom I was messaging at the moment. In true professional form, they never responded & just ghosted. Since that's what legit businesses do to their customers, ya? As of the moment, the house is for sale. That does not absolve Sweet Homes from delivering accommodations to the level of the inflated fee they're charging here. I won't drone on further & make this a more Karen-ish review. Just please hear me when I strongly advise, if not beg of you, do not entrust Sweet Homes in Yachats, Oregon with your family's vacation. Look at VRBO, TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc & you will see we are not the only family to be left unhappy w/their lack of hospitality professionalism. read more

Very disappointed. Rented house in bayshore. Wasn't cleaned well, advertised a gaming room but it was stacked full of all the outside deck furniture, large gas grill, and every window screen had been taken off windows and piled. Game room was garaged conversion. Couldn't open garage door as opener broken so couldn't get grill out. This Business unresponsive and offered zero assistance..only they would forward my complaints to maintenance and to have a relaxing test of our time. Deck had no grill, patio furniture, couldn't get to washer/dryer, game room no access because of all the window screens. Didn't even have coffee filters despite advertising coffee maker. It Looked like they closed house up for winter, but rented to us anyway. They were told disabled seniors were part of party. No way seniors could drag a grill or part furniture up stair to a deck. Glad I keep a folding chair in my truck. I think the owners should be very disappointed in this management company. It's clear they spent a good amount of money decorating and outfitting this house. With taxes and fees was over $450 a night yet we only could use half the house. Very disappointed with whole experience. VBRO didn't accept my 2 star review. I would never rent vacation property from this company. They had 5 days to fix any one of the issues and they did nothing. read more

Was on a business road trip down the coast and really need a relaxing place to stay for a couple days. Heard about Sweet Homes Rentals and gave them a try. Beautiful, clean home with an ocean view for what a motel wanted for essentially a studio-sized place. People were super helpful and I was able to have a stress-free couple of days. I highly recommended them to anyone staying at the Oregon Coast. A++ read more

Rating - ZERO A group of us rented King Neptune through Sweet Homes Vacation Getaways for the following dates October 1, 2023 - October 5, 2023 - the booking and payment was handled by one individual in the group. We experienced several difficulties, the most serious of which resulted in our being relocated to the nearby Halibut House because of an emergency gas leak. At approximately 5:30am on Tuesday, October 3, the smell of gas woke one of us up. That person confirmed her impression with others and ended up calling 911. We were told to evacuate, and the fire department confirmed that there was a break in an outdoor gas pipe. The fire department told us that we could not return to the house. Since it was raining, we were relieved that the fire department safely removed our vehicles from the driveway so that we could go somewhere to get coffee and be indoors. Approximately an hour later we were told that we could go back to the house to remove our possessions and that we would be relocated to another house. As a result, we lost a lot of the time of our vacation between an emergency relocation, assuring our families that we had not combusted and that we were safe, trying to find the things that had been packed hastily and getting reoriented. Sweet Home did provide an employee to transport all our luggage etc to the new location. It all did not fit into his car; therefore, the rest was loaded into one of our vehicles so he wouldn't have to make another trip. Once settled at the new location, the individual who made our reservation received a call from Sweet Homes management. All the occupants listened via speaker phone as our representative spoke with the management representative. The management representative explained the credits that we would receive - said that we had been moved to a comparable home - but the credits were standard credits, and nothing that reflected a rate adjustment based on our inconveniences. At least 2 people spoke individually along with our representative whose name the reservation was under to the management person. The management person became flustered and indignant - was very unprofessional and said "I am ending this call" and hung up. Obviously, she has had little or no training in providing customer service. Upon departure the reservation refund receipt for King Neptune was sent, and it did not reflect any compensation for our inconvenience. During our phone conversation on October 3, we made the management representative aware of safety concerns at Neptune House that we discovered. When entering the laundry room there is a step down that is approximately 3" and there was no signage indicating this. One of us stepped into the laundry room, fell and sprained her ankle. There was signage that said "watch step", but it was not visible upon entering the laundry room as it was written on a piece of tape attached to the floor on the lower portion and up against the step. Apparently previous guests had had this issue as well as we found a sign in a closet that said "please don't die - watch step." Another safety hazard was the rug that was over the carpet in the living room. The rug would buckle in places after walking on it so therefore it had to be straightened frequently so that no one tripped and fell. The rug also had loose edges that one could catch their foot on and possibly fall. Let's move onto the disgusting issues - large refrigerator in the kitchen - underneath the lower freezer drawer was dirty and the smaller refrigerator was disgustingly dirty no one used it. Neptune House is a pet friendly home, but the wall to wall carpets had several disgusting stains all over the house - the living room, the hallways, the master bedroom, and the stairwell. On our first day we discovered that one of the toilets wouldn't flush. It was evident that the handle needed to be replaced and the remainder of the problem had been fixed by Gerry rigging it. Several pictures had to be provided via text to the management person prior to his arrival to fix it. Halibut House was supposed to be comparable, but it wasn't. It was an ocean view, not oceanfront - and it had less square footage. This house reflected that the housekeeping service that Sweet Homes contracts with is very poor - example - an inch of dust on top of the refrigerator - blinds that hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. I found a Kleenex box with a tissue pulled through the opening ready to be grabbed - I grabbed it to use, but noticed the remainder of the box was filled with crumpled up used tissues. Finally, the dishwasher reeked of a broccoli smell when we arrived. Fortunately, after running it without anything in it the smell dissipated. The conditions of both homes - the safety issues - the response from management and the lack of compensation for all our troubles are reasons why I will never use Sweet Homes Vacation Getaways again nor will I ever recommend them. read more

Here's the deal, I have two small children ages 2 and 4; let me mention they are two hyper boys, and in addition, I also have 2 elderly Siberian Huskies part of my pack that act like they're teenagers. So locating a dog-friendly, spacious, killer beach house was a must. As it is was my maiden voyage to the Oregon Coast, I wanted to spend a week gallivanting around the coast at an amazing rental property and came across Sweet Homes Vacation Rentals. After perusing through their properties I was in awe of the pictures and amenities of Lexi's Lookout located in Seal Rock, OR - (for those of you that want to confirm the hype I'm about to give to this spot, follow this link and get your credit card ready to book a week stay! http://www.sweethomesrentals.com/quickview.php?property=86 ) Now, I don't know about you, I'm more often than not disappointed when I book a place, and the pictures look amazing, and the property fails to deliver. This was not the case,Lexi's Lookout was much larger than I anticipated, and the finish and appliances in this home are second to none. When you first walk in, you're greeted with an amazing view of the ocean as the house has more than enough large viewing windows. The kitchen is huge! Large copper sink, fully stocked with pots and pans, roasting rack & pan, nice silverware, glasses, wine glasses, wine opener, food spices, cooking oil, knives, etc. The list literally goes on. Back to that awesome copper sink, I've never been happier to do the dishes as you can look out to such a beautiful view. It was quite therapeutic. Appliances were awesome! Nice refrigerator and probably the best oven I have ever cooked with as it's a convection oven and cut so much cooking time off the 7lb Prime Rib Roast I made on my last night there. Everything you need to make a home cooked meal is in the kitchen, and for me that is key, as if you're renting out such a nice property why would you want to eat out all the time? I also just did not want to leave the house as it was so large, that my kids had a blast just playing out on 1 of the 3 balconies they have or playing with their toys on the floor. The bedroom on the 3rd floor also has an overlarge patio balcony that is amazing for sightseeing. My pups also just loved hanging out on the balcony or venturing around the large backyard. This review is much longer than I anticipated. In the words of Eminem - "I was gonna stop at sixteen, that was thirty-two This is thirty-four bars, we ain't even third of the way through.." Back to amenities. There's even a laundry room with a nice washer and drier. Really convenient, as after all my trips to the beach it was great to just be able to wash our clothes. There was laundry detergent provided as well as drier sheets-how cool is that? Another added bonus, this place has an awesome hot tub. Usually hot tubs are a little convoluted to operate in terms of opening the cover and closing it, but you literally only need one hand to open and close it by yourself. Nothing better to end the night and sip on some wine and watch the sun go down over the ocean while chilling in the hot tub! During the day you can play in the game room with a cool pool table or sit back and relax with some wine watch some movies on the blu-ray or even hook up your Netflix or Amazon Prime Video account to the big screen TV and cuddle with the kids. As I mentioned earlier, I'm huge on cooking, and I absolutely love grilling, this place has a grill! How crazy is that! Some of my calmest memories on this trip was just chilling on the balcony sipping on some wine, grilling my food, and seeing the occasional whale out in the ocean! The entire house has a great modern/industrial artsy design throughout. There was a lot of thought put into this house, from furniture, linens, and artwork. The shower on the second floor was brilliant. I don't think I have ever taken showers as long as I did in that multiple jets and rainfall shower head. In general, Lexi's Lookout was in the perfect location in Seal Rock. It's a 10 minute walk down to the beach or a 3 minute drive down. It's in between the small towns of Yachats, Waldport, and Newport. Quick and easy to explore a new beach and travel over some cool bridges! To wrap it up, if you're going to the Oregon Coast, and want to stay at a spacious, cool architecturally built beach house, Lexi's Lookout is a must. Dog-friendly & child-friendly (it had two safety gates you can put at the two staircases entry points). It was so relaxing, and I left feeling 5 years younger, which I think says a lot when you're traveling with two wild boys, and two Siberian Huskies. We stayed in what they called "Paradise Court" in Waldport, Oregon in the Bayshore area. We found the house to be in need of substantial repair and updating. The house was not all that clean. It was minimally acceptable. We found dirty dishes in the cupboards and felt we needed to rewash everything before we used it, heavy dust under furniture, animal hair, and questionable bathroom cleaning in the first floor front bedroom bathroom and other areas. The washing machine fabric softener dispenser was dirty with caked on sand from previous renters and not cleaned before our arrival. The laundry room machines worked but are old and the dryer had to have multiple cycles run to get the clothes dry enough. We had several plastic folding tables in the dining room instead of an actual dining room set. We were told by Property Management (PM) that previous renters had damaged the original and that shipping was delayed on the replacement. It would have been courteous of Sweet Homes to email or call us prior to our arrival to let us know that we had plastic tables in place of a dining set. It was not a positive surprise to find the plastic vs. the wood table as advertised. When we arrived we couldn't figure out how to work the TV. It kept coming up with a screen we couldn't get out of or go to anything else. Written instructions would be very helpful. We had to call the PM and have a rather long conversation with her to talk my husband through how to work it. Whoever helped my husband (who in general is quite savvy with remotes and TV's, etc.) was helpful, but a long conversation with the PM should not be necessary to work a cable TV. There were multiple issues with the windows not closing all the way with some crank handles damaged or stripped. Some blinds did not cover the windows to the bottom because the cords were too short (or broken), as well as a broken bathroom shower head, a shower door that would not close, and non-working electrical outlets including all the lights in a bedroom. The Property Management response (after they arrived at the house) was that only part of the electrical outlets worked so they brought a power strip to hook into a good part of an outlet. What is wrong with the house electrically that only a portion of electrical outlets work? There are broken tiles on the back patio step leading from the back door to the hot tub. Poor landscaping care with weeds growing in the front, weeds growing through the badminton court floor and a non-working stone water feature (fountain?) sitting right next to the hot tub with stagnant water. We had a rain storm the last night we were there and because there are windows that won't close all the way, the wind flowing through the screens kept banging the blinds against the wood frames of the windows. I don't know if Sweet Homes is just the rental management for properties or if they also manage the property management piece. But property management leaves a great deal to be desired because the place we rented appears to have been neglected over an extended period of time. We had contact with them to get light in the bedroom as mentioned above, and a working shower head in a bathroom and although they "repaired" those two things enough so they could work, it was just inexpensive patch jobs for the moment. The PM person who came to the house said she'd return with cord or something to extend the cords on the blinds, but she never brought us anything. If other people have reported issues, the reviews are not in the reviews on the rental site. I can assure you, this property does not meet the standards I have experienced in other Oregon coastal rentals and needs a variety of work to update and repair. A few positives were that the rooms are bright & airy and there is an open design on the main floor for dining, living room and kitchen. The hot tub was in good shape. Parking in the driveway is ample, however, it is a single lane driveway. The kids had a good space to run around with water guns in the backyard badminton court. read more

Not only are they not helpful but they are untruthful to. we were told we had a working hot tub to use but upon arrival found out it was no longer working and sweet home knew prior to us arriving it wasn't working but didn't communicate that. read more

We booked with this company on Airbnb. Starting from the beginning of the trip we struggled to get good communication with the company. We had to call the property manager 6 times before she answered our calls. She provided different information than the person in the main office gave us. Their check in documents provided conflicting information and unclear directions. After we finally got checked in we started to notice the home was not clean. The floors were disgusting and were not cleaned before we arrived. There was dog hair, sand, human hair, etc all over the rental. The dishes and cooking gear had to be cleaned before we could use it. The soap dispensers they provided didn't even work. The front door is a falling apart and has to be pushed hard at the top in order to close it. There was trash under the couches and behind a table we moved to ensure safety for the toddler who was with us. The furniture needs a deep clean and so do the windowsills. In fact, the whole place just needed a deep clean. We ordered a change of towels (they said not to wash them in the rental and to ask for some to be delivered) but they never arrived. At that point we gave up with communicating and just dealt with the unclean conditions. We also believed that due to Covid people outside our party would not be allowed in the rental to "reclean" the home. After we checked out we notified the company of our concerns and they proceeded to tell us and Airbnb that because we didn't communicate our concerns. Our invoice shows the cleaning fee at $360 but the company continued to say that the cleaning fee was only $240. Oh, and they proceeded to leave a negative review about our stay on Airbnb. We missed the deadline to provide a review on them through Airbnb but want to make sure people know how awful this company is. BEWARE. read more

We have now stayed in two of their vacation rentals, The Arbor House, and Heron's Cove.Arbor house was right on the beach in Yachats, it's a duplex that shares a deck with another rental ( which was fine, really), and Heron's Cove was on Alsea Bay. It was fabulous. These are beautiful rentals, with amazing decor and awesome views. For the most part their kitchens were beautifully appointed, and the amenities were great. They are expensive, yes, but for a large group where you're splitting the costs, they work out to be far less expensive than a bunch of hotel rooms, and it's awesome to be able to have family meals together at the beach which you cook yourselves in a fancy kitchen. I'm subtracting one star for the laundry policy.The only thing we're not excited about was having to wash all the linens before we leave. When you have a large group this makes for a lot of laundry, and with one small washer and dryer, you have to get up early because check out is either 11 or 12. To get all the loads of laundry done, it means a 7 am wake up to get the sheets going. We also all took our showers the night before so we could wash the towels afterward.This helped. Or, you can pay a $60 laundry fee... but when you've already paid a hot tub fee, that doesn't feel so great.. I don't know. Maybe since we already paid $200 plus per night the laundry fee shouldn't matter... Hubby's suggestion is that they include the laundry and the hot tub fee and have an earlier check out since that means their housekeepers will have to do it all. Then we wouldn't have to be grousing about it on our last day of vacation.. My husband went and got us espresso so we could do the laundry and be reasonably happy. That kind of worked. P.S. the only other thing I would mention is that neither house was particularly little kid friendly, there were breakable and fragile items all over both places, beautiful to look at but hazardous to say, a busy four year old! read more

We reserved a rental house in Oregon via VRBO (rented in February 2022) with Sweet Homes for the week of Thanksgivng 2022 with family members (10 people, 3 generations from 3 states, and 3 dogs) traveling from several locations on the west coast. Unfortunately the house was undergoing a remodel and wasn't going to be ready for us. They notified us 1 week prior to our arrival that it wouldn't be ready. They didn't offer an alternative but did refund the money that had been paid, the least they could do. We quickly regrouped and we're lucky to find another location without their help. I would definitely NOT recommend using this property management company for your vacation rental, there are plenty of other good options out there. If I could have left a Zero star review I would have, but that's not an option thru Yelp. I wasn't able to leave this review via VRBO since the reservation had been cancelled in their system. read more

We have stayed at several different places with Sweet Homes and it is always a great experience. This stay was sort of unplanned and short notice and we were thrilled when they were able to find a place for us. In these days when everything is on an app, it was so nice to be able to just call and talk to someone nice on the phone and have them help us. We ended up staying at Whales Cove in Waldport which is an amazing place! As soon as we walked in, we immediately noticed how clean it was. That is scary sometimes using ABB but every Sweet Homes Rental we have ever stayed at was super clean. Its obvious they take great care with this. They also have COVID information posted and are doing a lot of extra things right not to make sure everything is safe. Whales Cove is a cozy little cottage with 2 beds and 1 bath and is pet friendly. Another amazing thing about Whales Cove is the location. It is perfect!!! The beach access is right across the street from the house. You are able to walk right out the front door and down a quiet path right to an amazing beach. To the right is an epic view of Waldport bridge and all the fishing boats, and to the left is an epic beach that stretches all the way to Yachats. The icing on the cake here, is it is also walking distance to Hilltop Bistro, which has AMAZING breakfast and lunch. You really dont need to leave this place to have a great time, but if you are not familiar with the Oregon Coast, Waldport is very close to Cape Perpetua, arguably the most beautiful stretch of the coast on Oregon, as well as Yachats, Seal Rock and Newport, which are all great places to explore. The ViewMaster is tired, worn and in need of repair. Photos shown on the website are many years old, the owners have not maintained the home and isn't not worth the money. The location is right next to the ocean (300 yards at most), but also next to the highway and you will hear the noise from the traffic. We stayed in late 2016 and found the house dirty, the linens and pillows absolutely terrible, lots of broken items in the house, lights burned out, damaged furniture, urine stained carpet, really a disaster. Would never rent from this company again, they use false advertising to lure you into renting their property and you're stuck when you get there. Choose somewhere else and make sure you get current photos and some type of performance refund written into your contract. read more

Very bad customer service. I live in a neighborhood with one of their listings in Waldport. We have bears. Every time a renter leaves, the trash cans are distributed up and down the road, trash everywhere. We the people who actually live here are stuck getting gloves and bags and picking up trash for a quarter mile. We have called and complained repeatedly and they haven't done anything. They made an attempt apparently to contact Dahl Disposal to get a bear-proof can but Dahl is out of them - really? It's bear season. Not surprising. But that's all they did - why can't they build a container to put the cans in that locks? Or require in that house that renters take their trash with them considering they are now attracting a dangerous nuisance to Waldport Heights. That's against the law. I am making a complaint to the City tomorrow in the hopes that at least having the City involved might push them into solving this issue. It's bad enough they put a vacation rental in the middle of this peaceful neighborhood - and the renters let their dogs loose - saw a husky with a bandana going thru a neighbor's trash as well - so they are a very irresponsible rental management company. This was the Sweetest and Nicest Rental I've ever rented on the Oregon coast!! The Castaway, sits on the hill just above ocean, perfect quiet location. We came in at dark, house was lit up outside and in w soothing music playing! We were welcomed by Jon w all information needed and extra restaurant town info. What a nice warm welcome! Beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels and kitchen utensils, loved the nautical decor! Sauna was a total treat after long day on beach. Super clean!! Can hardly wait to come again! read more

Somehow this review from 2014 never got posted. Maybe things are better now, but here's my verdict from my one (and only) visit. I'll pass on going again. The Good things: the view, the cleanliness. The Bad: unhelpful owners, charged for service we didn't get, encyclopedic list of strictures and penalties for everything from moving the furniture to parking an extra car nearby; and the Ugly: tired exterior, mossy deck, sticky-varnish table, dungeon-like 'game room.' We paid in full (about $750) a couple of months before our booking, then got a panicky call that my credit card had been refused two weeks out. I'd cancelled it after the Lowe's security breach and had a new one issued. Seems the agents/owner had not mentioned they wanted a $300 security deposit, too. That fixed, we checked in during a rainstorm - no place to hang wet outerwear - but a strict 'no shoes in house' rule. The first issue was the dining table, which seemed to have been recently re-varnished and had not dried. Everything, but everything stuck to it: plates, mats, a jigsaw. We used paper napkins under our hands and forearms at dinner, had to soak them off the surface. I put a cup of coffee on it and the thing welded itself in place. When I realised that even the chair backs were tacky, I understood it was probably cleaning fluid that had destroyed the varnish. Anyway, for three days we were very attached to the table. The house policy is that if you change your mind about wanting to use the hot tub, which is oddly placed outside the front door, in an enclosure whose glazing was coated with salty deposits, you MUST cancel 48 hours or more ahead. Eh? The house agent showed up to vet us, could not find the hot tub key but assured us it would be clean and ready. We never found out, because when we finally thought of using the thing on a rainy Sunday night it was not there, and we had not the heart to call in the housekeeper, who was on maternity leave. This was not good enough for the owner to refund the $50 fee. For the rest, the 'game room' is an uncovered garage with three tables: pool, table tennis and foosball. But it's a concrete floor, no heating and dim lighting. We passed on that one. Inside, the amenities were tired. The microwave above the stove was broken, a smaller countertop one was working. The library was a handful of religious books and one Jean Auel. Just disappointing. read more

Sweet Homes Rentals is an excellent company to rent from! We rented Sandcastle this past weekend and we were very impressed! We booked the home due to its awesome oceanfront/beachfront location, layout, hot tub access, and amenities. Before we arrived, we were informed the hot tub was not functioning so we would not have access. That was a big let down to our group, knowing we would not have the hot tub during our stay ( a big reason we chose that house). The staff at Sweet Homes made up for it quite well. Angie was awesome and refunded our hot tub fee and half the pet fee, which was greatly appreciated. After doing our arrival meet and greet, John offered to move us to another similar house down the street so we would have a home with a hot tub. The layout didnt quite fit our needs, so John let us gain access to the hot tub at the other property. That greatly made up for not having a working hot tub at our property. Those 2 individuals and all staff at Sweet Homes deserve a huge kudos and recognition for really caring about their guests and their stay! I have rented from several companies on the coast, and Sweet Homes is by far the best by a long shot. The home itself was great. Beachfront access with stairs carved into the sandstone cliff, amazing views. Everything was well maintained and most the home was updated. The game room was an added bonus to spend a few hours in each night, with games for every age! There is an additional sitting area located upstairs which also gains access to bedrooms 2 & 3. The only downfall is the 4th "bedroom" is really a den with a futon, not a sleeper sofa like advertised. We made it work though and realized the sleeper sofa is in the living room. Tip: If you want an oceanfront home that sleeps 6+ people, I highly recommend Sand Castle. read more

We had a terrible experience at a property in Depot Bay, Spouting horn. The home was uninhabitable and full of toxic construction fumes on arrival. A window was cracked in an attempt to "air it out"x When we called the property manager 2 different managers knew about the smell and basically hoped it wouldn't be an issue. They had no reasonable homes left for the night that were remotely similar to what we had booked and all the hotels were booked. We lost so much money on PTO lost, pet and child sitting already paid and we're given no heads up to the issue. Had we been told at least we could have tried to find something else. We were refunded but that is all. Not enough for such a huge error on there part! I have lost all trust in sweet homes after this nightmare ruined anniversary trip. read more

Leaking roof meant we couldn't use two of the beds we paid for, they offered extra towels and that was all. No apology or partial refund. We were polite about it and try not to be demanding or rude about this kind of thing - but it doesn't seem like we should have to pay for rooms that have leaky ceilings. Leak was near the light fixture, and dripping in several spots anytime it rained. I just wanted a partial refund for that room but they have ignored us and never even offered an apology or discount or credit or anything. very disappointed with Sweethome. read more

We love the modern feel of Lexi's Lookout. It's really a beautifully designed and furnished home. The Sweet Homes team has done an amazing job making this home welcoming and comfortable for any size group. We love the open feel of the house, its large dog-friendly yard, the game room, hot tub, and amazing views of the ocean. It's a dream vacation home for sure. We also stayed at The Zen house April 2016 and really enjoyed our stay overall. The Sweet Homes team was really helpful through the booking process, and really accommodating to our early arrival time. When we arrived, they met us to go over the specifics, and later that evening when we had additional questions they were immediately responsive. We will definitely rent from Sweet Homes again. I wanted to stay at the A Frame that belonged to Rock Park cottages. My family has stayed there for more than 15 years. It was available, as the folks who rented never showed up. Good for the rentees that I called. I was helping to defray a lost reservation expense, right? First, the woman asked me to reserve online--hard to do when you are on the road with spotty cell service. Besides, I loved renting from Rock Park BECAUSE I got to speak to a human and they were very awesome humans, too! The rent went up slightly with new management, but I had expected a small increase. However when I rented and got back my confirmation a never agreed to (or informed of) charge of 95.00 for cleaning was assessed to my credit card. Wow. The rent was 100 and the cleaning 95. How crazy is that? I think I know why it was empty! In addition, you STILL have to wash your own dishes!!!! Wow...for 95 bucks they had better wash my car, too! Keep in mind we loved it because it was quaint. It is a very rustic a frame with thirty year old furnishings. Not really the Bellagio Hotel. I asked for a refund and I will never rent there again. The owners should reconsider this arrangement. I wonder what they are paying for these people to rip off their guests??? read more

We rented one half of the duplex (which was never advertised as a duplex, despite them continually saying it was, and us reading the ad over and over and over and clearly seeing that it was not advertised as a duplex.) The house was fine, no problems, although everything was pretty cheap and tacky. No big deal. But when it came time to move out we had a misunderstanding with the manager on the move out time. She let us know that we were late (30 minutes late...) by threatening to throw our belongings on the street. She was rude on the phone, didn't show up for the initial inspection, gave incorrect information on what were responsible on move out, didn't respond to emails or phone calls. Do yourself a favor, stay far away from these people. They want your money and nothing else. There are plenty of good people out there to rent from, who will actually try to make your stay a nice one. read more

RENTERS BEWARE...MAJOR RODENT ISSUES....and general cleanliness issues also...arrived on 9/19/2020...4 pm check-in so they had extra time to clean and COVID the house which i support!! upon arrival i went to master bedroom one (after "full house cleaning") and opened the closet to hang some stuff and closet had at least a dozen fresh rodent droppings!!! we found more evidence of pest problems...probably because there was food in the drawers and the overall house was not clean....we washed the linens/towels/dishes again just to be safe...went to bed and heard rodents running up and down the interior walls at night!!! driveway unsafe...not worth the money...disappointed in sweet homes response to our complaints...SHIPWRECK HOUSE YACHATS is the location for review!! read more

Stay away from renting with this company! I tried renting a 2 month vacation home in Florida. I submitted the available rental, they took my $300 deposit and still after 9 days the rental company never confirmed my rental. If you call this sweet home vacation rental company, they will NEVER pick up the phone. BEFORE I submitted my rental request I had some questions and I finally got someone to call me back after a few days of messages and email requests to have someone call me! The girl told me she is the only person working so there are great delays. My $300 deposit went through and then I never received returned calls, no confirmation, no email response to my question about why it was taking so many days to get a booking confirmation..NOTHING! You wait on "hold for a customer rep" but then ALWAYS get prompted to leave a message. And nobody calls you back! When you spend this kind of money you EXPECT to be able to talk to a person or at least get an answer on my many emails, phone messages or online requests for a person to contact me. NOTHING! I then tried cancelling my reservation through email and still NO Response. I then tried to cancel within my reservation and although they never responded or called me I do see a pending credit for my $300 Deposit. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Prior to this booking direct on the Sweet Home website I tried to book 3 other homes within AIRBNB's website (SWEET HOME VACATION was the "renter" on AIRBNB's site) EVERY Home I tried renting never got a response or my reservation request was rejected by AIRBNB because the renter (sweet home) never responded or confirmed! AIRBNB told me they are dropping some of their rentals because they are not responding in the professional time frame that AIRBNB expects from their renters. STAY AWAY form this company read more

This was our first time visiting the Oregon Coast and we feel so blessed that we were able to do so, with our family, in such a wonderful place. The Shell Haven was absolutely perfect for our needs! We appreciated the walk-through with Kardinal that we got at check-in. She answered all of our questions and gave us valuable information to help us utilize all the amenities of the home. The home was spacious and clean. We loved how close we were to the beach and the HWY. We were able to enjoy Yachts and many attractions nearby. The house was stocked with everything we needed to eat, sleep and relax. And, even though I was not able to enjoy it, my in-laws loved relaxing in the hot tub. I highly recommend this home for families and would love to return. read more

01/15/2020 OWNERS BEWARE! SWEET HOMES = LIES! LIES! LIES! Our first encounter with a Sweet Homes representative in early December 2018, was such a promising and encouraging meeting. My husband and I were searching for a vacation home along the Oregon coast and were pleased to be introduced to the Sweet Homes management as "the #1 best rental management company out there". During our meeting with their VP of Business Development & Operations, Jamie M*****, I had several questions and concerns about how the property is maintained and how I could finish decorating a property 600 miles from me. Ms. M***** ensured me that because they are "setting eyes" on the property so often, there isn't a reason to worry that any maintenance issues would be overlooked. Plus, she assured me that they are the only ones in the business that personally "sets eyes" on every guest upon their arrival. She also informed me that their in-house VP of Management & Design, Kasey B****, who has a degree in architecture and interior design, was available to me at no charge to help me set up the home per Sweet Homes standards. For every concern I had, she had an answer. Looking back, I realize that she belonged on a used car lot rather than representing herself as the VP of Business Development and Operations of any company. My husband and I (and our dog) spent Christmas 2016 at Lexi's Lookout (one of Sweet Homes' newer properties). It was amazing. The house is super modern, really nicely decorated, and very comfortable and homey. The views are incredible too. There is so much to do just in the house (HUGE kitchen, game room, and hot tub), but also in the area. It was our first time to the Oregon coast and it was so fun to explore the beaches (just a walk away from the house!) and the nearby coastal towns. Everything about our experience was smooth, and we really appreciated having everything taken care of for us given the holidays. We gladly take this opportunity to share our experience staying at the Fleur de la Mer house in Waldport handled by Sweet Homes Beach Rentals. After staying in 4 other rentals in the area over the past years with mixed experiences from OK to very poor, we can highly recommend not only the quality of the property, but also the integrity and professionalism of the managing organization. The home is beautiful, tastefully decorated, extremely well equipped, and spotlessly clean. The extra services of flowers on the table, welcoming lights on, treats for our dogs, music playing, and a representative arriving at our door to make certain that we had no questions the next morning made our 10 hour drive and late arrival most pleasant. Their staff and our personal representative were always available and very prompt with a minor stove problem that we experienced. We felt instantly at home and made use of many of the thoughtful amenities. Our dogs were most welcome and we felt comfortable bringing them into this environment, Sweet Homes will be our first contact next year for our Fall vacation.
