Friendly management, fair price, clean cute establishment. Beds were very comfortable, room roomy, and all around nice. Oh, and lovely towels too. Highly recommend as it's right in town.

    Everything you need is walkable!!!

Wow! This little gem exceeded our expectations on SO MANY LEVELS: The location, the proprietors, the motel as a whole, the rooms, the amenities, the peace. We are already planning our next visit! We decided at the last minute to head to Yachats from Portland as we needed some ocean time. When we saw the Ya'Tel Motel had availability, we were so skeptical. It just looked too charming to have space for us. We are SO GLAD we ended up here rather than one of the places a little further north. So many great restaurants, the farmers market, and the grocery store are walkable from here, the 804 trail is easily accessible, and most importantly, delicious coffee is a quick stroll away. :-) The owners are the nicest and so helpful. The motel is cozy cute. The room is super adorable and comfortable, and so well-appointed. There's a little fridge, microwave, pod coffee machine, plates/cups/bowls/flatware, a dining table and chairs, excellent wifi, and lots of TV channels. The room was so clean and themed in decoration. It's just all meticulously thought out. Most importantly for me, room #5 is very quiet all night long. Ahhhh. Looking forward to our next stay!!

I want that fridge & microwave and the lighthouse picture above the couch. Alas, I could not take them. The bed was very comfy!

This is the best place. It feels more like a house or apartment rather than a motel. I wish I had gotten the name of the wonderful lady at the desk. You, ma'am, were incredibly friendly and welcoming and just lovely. Please please please don't ever change a thing about the Lighthouse Room. It's perfect. I was so happy there. I will never stay anywhere else in Yachats and I always want that room! This place is tiny (9 rooms) and so cute and extraordinarily clean. I felt very safe staying there as a single lady. This room faces the 101 but the town is sleepy and quiet during the winter (I don't know about summer) so I didn't hear noise. Even if there was noise, I'd still only stay in that perfect little room. (Tip for the Lighthouse Room: If you stay, bring your own hair dryer. As with all baseboard heaters, turn it up slowly, for once it's warm, it's warm!)

Loved the room decor! It was perfect. It's warm and inviting and fun. Plenty of room for two people. The owner is very friendly and made suggestions of places to eat, things to do. We were in room 5 which even has ocean views. We will definitely stay here again. Only downside is the highway traffic but it wasn't overwhelming or too loud to sleep.

Dog friendly but stay off the couch! :) Jinx loves it here!

We loved this place so much! Very friendly and so many great places to eat within walking distance. They are also dog friendly so that means we are coming back for sure. There is a great beach within walking distance with lots of places to explore and make sure you seek out the little boardwalk that winds through the marsh across the street. It's a hidden gem! We definitely felt right at home. We will be returning! Oh and the wifi is amazing! ;)

I love this motel for many reasons, but this tops it. I despise the little plastic bottles of shampoo and conditioner.

5 min walk to town & restaurants & bluffs. Super clean rooms with everything you need. This place is so perfect. Simple, clean, friendly people, good location, so easy to make reservation and check in. Parking to room entrance is one level and make loading and unloading so easy. Feels like home away from home. It is also affordable.

Like they say, small touches make all the difference!

Stay here! We pulled into a place on the other side of 101 and the front desk staff was surly so I called Ya-Tel and was greeted with enthusiasm. We'd been camped at Washburne State Park when the governor issued a state-wide burn ban. After 2 nights in the cold & wind, this place was warm and welcoming, spacious and comfortable, and walking distance to Luna's for great food. We felt like we'd won the lodging lottery!

Great price. Wonderful people. Large rooms. Two in the front have very large window facing the ocean. Town is also wonderful.

What really stood out this time was the oyster shooters. I live on the coast and eat my share of fresh oysters. Most often, I've bought them at the source and shucked and eaten them same day- very fresh. Often, even the best coastal restaurants serve oysters that are ever so slightly (un-fresh). It may have been the timing, but those. Shooters tasted like they came right out of the water minutes before serving. Well done, Drift Inn! Now let's put raw oysters on the half-shell on the menu, please!

It's automatically added to our bill. ‍ It began shortly after we were seated. After glancing over the menu for about 5 minutes or less, we were ready to order but our server said in a snarky tone, "I'mmm NOT ready to take your order." We patiently waited for a few more minutes and she returned to finally take our order. The food was above average (a bit more expensive than other establishments) and the restaurant was ocean-trendy enough until we had to pay the bill. Again, our server was nowhere to be found for 5-10 minutes. Maybe she was on break, so we patiently waited. Finally, she emerged from the ocean depths, and I kindly asked for the bill. She passed our table four times until she finally had our bill. Glancing down at the bill it made sense...20% gratuity automatically added. Again, why should someone have to provide great service IF it's a guaranteed exceptional tip. ‍ Save your 20% tip and eat across the street at the fish house.

They are bend over backwards accommodating and nice. We always stay in the condos, which have amazing views of the ocean with grey whales playing close to shore. The condos are clean, cozy, and have fully stocked kitchens you can cook in. The beds are super confortable. You can enjoy the cool ocean breeze and the soothing sound of the surf on the balcony or inside through the sliding screen door. In the winter, we also enjoy the coziness of the gas fireplace and the frogs croaking in the pond on the beautiful grounds. And for children and swimmers, there's an indoor swimming pool. There is also a large, beautiful, studio facing the ocean that has a communal kitchen you can rent for events such as yoga workshops, which I have done a number of times. In fact, it's so beautiful, I would have gotten married here if I weren't already married. On top of all this, it is an easy walk to the picturesque ocean road that fronts the property, as well as to the beach, hiking trails, and downtown Yachats. And it's one of the most affordable places on the coast. We're so grateful for having found this place! May we be blessed with many more visits to the Yachats Inn. Sadie and Paul

What an incredible oceanfront location but in desperate need of a revamp…read more The rooms unfortunately don't match the beautiful setting. Our standard king was so rundown, with stained and stinky 70's carpet, mismatched 80s furniture, cheap plastic outdoor seats, and a mattress so old and uncomfortable I woke up in pain. The bed had extremely thin sheets and pillows, and a tiny shower you can't move around in. Our bathroom window and sliding glass door didn't close properly and I was praying a Ted Bundy type wasn't cruising the neighborhood. I somehow forgot to take pics but their images on their website are pretty accurate. The price was great at just over $120 on a busy July holiday weekend, and we also had direct access to the beach right out front. The pool and hot tub also provided ocean views. The entire property can use a lot of TLC. I love older and cozy spaces, but this place deserves a refresh to match its spectacular location. Nothing glamorous, it just needs to be functional, comfortable, and safe. 2.5 stars if I could.

They'll happily keep your coffee topped off while you take in one of the finest ocean views on the Oregon Coast. The Breakfast Reuben is a standout--rich, savory, and perfectly balanced, proving that corned beef and breakfast belong together. When we reached out to Vacasa for help they first asked us to try the breaker box, or relight the water heater but couldn't tell me where either of them were, thereby asking me to wander around and through this motel - peeking in closets and rooms - to find them. When I refused they said they would contact a local person for assistance. No one ever came. No one contacted us. I even reached out to corporate and no one came. No one contacted us. So despite a pretty room and clean linens they get 2 stars because hot water is kind of a necessity in a hotel. Further, they didn't offer a discount for their failure to provide the hot water during our 5 night stay. Other things to know; The images don't show that highway 101 runs between this building and the beach. Nor do they show that the balconies with the rooms are shared and not private. The coffee pot is a Kuerig and they only provide 4 pods. Bring your own. There are two mugs, two metal cups, two glass cups, and a handful of silverware, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. The only place to wash anything is in the bathroom. The view is stunning and you can hear the ocean from your room if you leave the door cracked. I really wish I could have given a better review but the lack of local support for this listing means any problems you have are yours to deal with and frankly, that is not what I am paying for. EDIT: The management company responded after my review and offered a partial refund per day for the lack of the hot water. It was a fair offer and the decent thing to do. So I'm increasing the review to three stars because they did respond and try to make things right. However, I still think it's important for guests to know there isn't anyone local to manage these issues quickly if they arise.

First thing is the smell then the obvious visuals come into focus. Floors have NEVER been refurbished in over 4 years that I can tell the floors looked new. "DOG FRIENDLY" to me means go someplace else. Rug at front door chewed, couch must be the dog-bed because it STUNK! Walls are hideous. Water marks running above the sliding glass doors, bathroom water damage above/behind the toilet and behind the sink faucet. Wall scuffs from rocking chair and stupid living room end tables substituting for bedside tables (covered w/ white dog fur...as well as under the bed w/ debris not well vacuumed before we arrived). CAKED dust coming from the ac/heat unit & bathroom ceiling fan. Old room heaters (bathroom and main room) are rusty and really unappealing. Bed- too soft!!! No bed skirt and the sheets were stained w/ brown marks (I was pretty disgusted and wished I had my silk sleeping bag), ugly old bed linens....please pretend like your rentals are an investment that people invest in (like me) because at over 150 a night (OFF SEASON) people will expect very nice accommodations...not just a lovely view and convenient location in town. Coffee tables are not side tables- get a decent size table. TV wands are not properly marked and the mute button doesn't work! CLEAN them....they were really nasty dirty. Move the couch to the opposite side of the room, move the tv screen to the opposite wall so that you can actually get a better view from bed if one is wanting to watch before bed. The Kerig coffee machine....GROSS! Who uses those? Not us. All we wanted was a hot pot at the very least to brew QUALITY coffee without the dangers of mold in the coffee maker which Kerigs are INFAMOUS for harboring! We will not use them. This was my birthday weekend. I'm super disappointed we spent it in such a gross place!!! I will MAKE SURE our next visit will be better investigated before making a overnight reservation someplace.
