    Forest Gump roll
    Nancy S.

We decided to go to Yama for our anniversary dinner. We ordered edamame to start and then a No Name roll, Forest Gump roll and a Tekka Don sushimi bowl that came with miso soup. My husband loved the sushimi bowl but I wasn't as crazy about it as he was. Way too much rice for me! The soup was nothing special either. They did give a nice portion of fish. The No Name roll was my favorite. It was a very tasty roll piled high with stuff! We actually ordered a Volcano which we have had before but they accidentally brought us the Forest Gump roll. It was a roll I normally wouldn't have ordered because it is topped with jalapeño. I just took the pepper off and I really enjoyed the roll. It was served with a side of onion straws that I of course completely finished! I thought the edamame was just ok. I will skip that in the future.

The staff are super kind. Food tastes really good ! The vibe is laid back. Will return again if in the area :)

I paid $40 dollars for this! Chicken bland no flavor and just a bunch of salad.

100% definitely not worth it, food is over priced and portionare super small! And when I asked for hot sauce ( sriracha) I got told it was going to be an extra charge fee for hot sauce!!

Japanese owned Japanese restaurant! Staff here is phenomenal! Everyone is so nice, personable and attentive. Sitting there we can tell there's a lot of regulars here. They have a VIP card system that we just jumped on board with. You can watch the sushi chefs working hard making all the different sushi's. We ordered mix tempura, tekka maki, and 2 specialty rolls. Tempura was crunchy just how I like it! Tekka maki was rolled perfectly. Some places do such a sloppy job when they cut it and the rice is usually falling out. Not here! All the waiters and the waitresses are so super attentive to all the guests needs. All of them are very knowledgeable and willing to assist. Very busy busy place with all the tables taken, to go orders being ordered and online orders coming through. They all still manage to keep their cool and keep on chugging along. Love the ambiance! There's tvs to watch or even better you can watch the sushi chefs at work. You can sit at the sushi counter or regular dining tables. We'll be back! Arigato!

    Philly Tempura Roll 10/10

Highly recommend! Amazing sushi quality! The fish is so fresh and the rolls are big and filling. All the staff there are super nice and welcoming. Very quick, hospitable service. Price is average. The house rolls are $8-10 and the specialty $13-$18. Very worth it. Plus, they have happy hour starting @ 2:30pm-5:30pm with rolls 30% off.

    So good and crunchy

Ask the Community - Yama Sushi Restaurant

Is this restaurant related at all to the Yama Sushi in Vegas?

No, it's a small family-owned business in Fallbrook!

Why do you have a picture of Oink n Moo for your own restaurants exterior picture?

Do they have all you can eat?

Where can I find a full menu?

There are two individual photos showing menus.

A Good sign that there are actually Asians that actually eat here quite often. We saw locals coming in to order take out and a senior couple dined in with us... SERVICE: Great service and recommendations on dishes from a very nice problem young Spanish lady. They are very generous with their sauces, napkins and chili oil... C1 PHO COMBINATION: 7/10 I asked for no tripe. The tendons, rare steak and brisket were all tender. I didn't really like the meatball. The pho broth was on the bland side and the noodles were on the hard side... E1 PHoTASTIC RICE PLATE: 8/10 First of all, the picture on the menu was very misleading. As you can see, it showed 2 egg rolls but, we were given only 1 egg roll. It also showed a nice portion of meats around the one ball of rice on the middle. However, we were given an enormous portion of broken rice with a few pieces of meat on top. The chicken and egg rolls were very good though... SIDE OF MEATBALLS: 10/10 Really good and worth the drive. This was a RARE item to find even in Westminster... COCO DESSERT: 10/10 so delicious and filled with young coconut skin. Finished this right away! AMBIANCE: Big and spacious. They had a lot of big screen TVs... CAUTION: There's only ONE RESTROOM! So when we arrived there was a Party of 6 people with 2 kids and they all were going to the restroom one at a time so I had to wait. Then, the guy who came out to serve the PHO had to take a dump so I had to wait again! They should have another restroom. If it was a full house. It would be horrible to have just one restroom for the customer and employees... I would say PHOTASTIC is worth a visit!!!

It was packed, and we waited about 10-15 minutes before getting the first available table outside. We started with chips and salsa, then shared a carne asada quesadilla. The chips were crisp, warm, and lightly salted, and the salsa had a bright, fresh kick with just the right amount of tang. I ordered a beef chimichanga with rice, and it was perfectly fried, golden, and satisfyingly crunchy on the outside, with a rich, savory filling inside. The portion was so generous that I had to take half of it home. The fried ice cream was a wonderful way to end the evening, with a cool, creamy center, a cinnamon-sweet flavor, and a satisfying crunchy exterior. Our wonderful waitress recommended it, and I'm so glad she did. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the area.

The rice and beans were good but don't really need all the extra cheese on it, I'd order again but ask for no extra cheese on top (personal preference). Garden Center Cafe was on our list, but due to their limited operating hours, it took us a while to visit. Unfortunately, now we think we understand why they do not operate full hours-not enough customers, maybe. Ambiance, cleanliness, polite/friendly staff all 5 stars , but the food quality did not match the look/feel of restaurant. We ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad 1. Greens had black-gooey-rot. Obviously not fresh, most likely from a container and past it's time. Picture included. Wontons very stale and wax box/package flavor. Assuming they came from a box from warehouse that sold the black rotten greens. Dressing, was poured on thick, which made for a heavy / syrupy salad. Cabbage was dry and at the end of its cycle, you know when it gets those black dots on the white part of red cabbage. Chicken strips bland and maybe 1 1/2 ounces (for a $20 plus salad from a bag of rotten greens) . I kept looking for the chicken. 2. Scrambled eggs, sourdough, black beans and a side of Ham Steak. Eggs not fresh, maybe a carton - liquid eggs, black beans were actually a combo of red/brown/black - not the black bean flavor we were expecting or what menu stated . But, out of the entire breakfast they were the only decent thing. Ham Steak- NOT a Ham Steak just a slice of ham from supermarket -thin-and very processed -cheap quality. Sourdough bread was also the lowest quality sourdough you would find at a discount grocer. To summarize, the ingredients, produce and proteins are of the lowest quality. Bland, spoiled, packaged/processed food. Price for each dish was $20+ AND if you use a credit card you get a 3% surcharge. My husbands final words while dinning, "this place reminds me of one of those restaurants in those rehab shows- where the chef spits the food out because it's so bad" Like I said, it's a shame because the restaurant gives off a good vibe. They gotta work on the food quality and maybe they will get more customers and be able to open normal hours. Definitely will not be coming back

They offer both indoor & outdoor seating, with the outdoor area set up like a garden patio. The tables are vintage style glass patio furniture with umbrellas. On bright sunny days, the sun reflects off the glass and can be a bit blinding, as there is no enclosure or overhead cover. Parking, however, can be a bit tricky. The lot is small both street level and upper level, which is a hill, so you'll likely need to walk down to the restaurant. When we arrived, a large box truck was blocking the upper parking area--likely a vendor--and although we were motioned to wait "a couple of minutes," it turned into closer to five. Because the space is narrow and sloped, my friend had no choice but to back up carefully, fortunately with no car behind us. There is additional parking on the opposite side, and street parking. It's clearly a popular spot with locals.

I wanted to show up early to get on the wait list early so my guest didn't have to wait. To my surprise, I only had to wait 5 minutes. The wait time was much longer when we were leaving Parking does get full quickly at the top area. Our server was very friendly and checked on us often. I forgot to point out that when I come with family we prefer outdoor seating if the weather permits. The reason being is that it is loud inside. There is background music, but it could barely be heard because of the echoing of people talking. It is difficult to hear the people you are there with.
