The food was decent & met our expectations. The service was good. Prices are about on par with similar places in the area, (slightly on the higher side). They offer both indoor & outdoor seating, with the outdoor area set up like a garden patio. The tables are vintage style glass patio furniture with umbrellas. On bright sunny days, the sun reflects off the glass and can be a bit blinding, as there is no enclosure or overhead cover. Parking, however, can be a bit tricky. The lot is small both street level and upper level, which is a hill, so you'll likely need to walk down to the restaurant. When we arrived, a large box truck was blocking the upper parking area--likely a vendor--and although we were motioned to wait "a couple of minutes," it turned into closer to five. Because the space is narrow and sloped, my friend had no choice but to back up carefully, fortunately with no car behind us. There is additional parking on the opposite side, and street parking. It's clearly a popular spot with locals.

This is a hidden gem in Fallbrook. We were invited to a college graduation/birthday celebration for my niece. The brunch event was scheduled to begin at 1p. We arrived at 12:53p and proceeded to help the host family setup their decorations in the beautiful outdoor dining space. There are very nice tables and fresh open space here for customers. The serving staff is excellent here. They are very patient with customers and all of the special entree requests. The menu is great with great breakfast side options of black beans or house potatoes. The house potatoes have bell pepper and onion cooked into them and are delicious. I highly recommend trying them. All of the brunch entrees that came out looked delicious. My own Chicken Fried Steak was phenomenal. We also enjoyed the blueberry pancakes. I asked for the blueberries in the pancakes but they came out on top of the pancakes...somewhat defeated the purpose of adding blueberries to the pancakes. I still enjoyed them. The batter is a mix between a whole wheat and regular/protein batter for pancakes, with good flavor. I ordered a Coca Cola instead of a mimosa. The mimosas looked DELICIOUS for those who ordered them. I also noted that they have Bloody Mary's, and also other cocktail drinks for $8, an excellent price. I must mention that the cheeseburger looked AMAZING. Please try that out, as I was told that it was delicious. Also, check out my photos of it. Overall, this is a wonderful brunch restaurant. I definitely recommend trying this place out when in Fallbrook or the surrounding area off of the 76 freeway.

Best food, service and scenery to enjoy. Servers were so polite, food was fresh and delicious!! Coffee was delicious too 4/4 - we'll be back Lord's welling

All these years later and this still our fave in Fallbrook! Relaxing surroundings, great servers and the food is the best! Love the chicken raspberry chipotle sandwich, excellent salads too!

Here for the Saturday evening very good prime rib dinner. We made reservations for the prime rib, not necessarily for the seating; and told by the owner, that sometimes the prime rib runs out, so reserving our 'slice' was a good idea. We just ate prime rib in Laughlin at $12 a plate cheaper; and although the plate and dinner was cheaper, the meat in Laughlin was noticeable more tender. Not that this was tough by any measure or the flavor wasn't as good. Both had a terrific rub and flavor, the casino surprisingly had a very nice piece of meat. All of the sides and service were excellent here this evening so our overall experience was very fulfilling. Another great meal here, as seems to be a regular occurrence. Dicks

This restaurant is absolutely quaint. Such a great location with a beautiful patio for Al fresco dining. Came here for Sunday Brunch, ordered two large mimosas , French toast and an egg dish. The French toast arrived very cold, our sweet waitress was quick to have the kitchen remake my dish. Unfortunately the egg dish that arrived perfect temperature was now cold due to the wait. Overall this place is really cute but I think there could be improvements to the brunch menu. Our dishes lacked freshness and flavor. If I ever found myself in the area I would give this Cafe another try!

Overpriced, under delivers and includes zero smiles. Garden Center Cafe has been a bi-polar experience for the past 20 years. This is primarily a seniors' restaurant. While that shouldn't preclude you from coming here I will advise you that based on my experiences their food is deliberately muted of flavor because of this.. For most people, their sauces and dressings will be too mild for your liking. I would say all negative reviews and many favorable reviews all say that the service sucks here. I can confirm that the service here is likened to those reality TV restaurant shows where a proper chef comes in and has to deal with a belligerent restaurant owner. Because the service was so slow, I was able to observe the infamous owner who stands prominently at the front with a clear view of all the tables inside. It was difficult to determine what exactly the owners does. Despite the waitresses being in the weeds the entire service he just stood there aloof. Apparently his role is to chastise anyone who complains about service, food, or seating.. The food: It's better than Denny's. It's not in the same league as other restaurants that sell salads and sandwiches around $18.. Southwest Salad: A perfect example of the food here. We all have a preconceived notion of what Southwest cuisine tastes Iike and looks like. Garden Center doesn't give a shit about that. To them Southwest means a few black beans tossed into a house salad. Zero color (no corn, peppers, etc etc). Chicken was poached and flavorless. Total "F" as far as a Southwest salad. It's basically a salad with boiled chicken and a ton of red onions. - Owners believe their restaurant is located in Del Mar, Tokyo, Maui or even Bonsall. Prices here are way overpriced for what you actually get. - Only one toilet for the entire restaurant. What's really stupid is that they put tables next to bathroom door and the people waiting in the long line basically "share a seat" with you. - Staff never smile. In summation, if you're not a member of the AARP this is probably not the place for you.

Nope! We were turned away today. 3/10/24. Watched a dog right behind me get in by saying their dog was a service dog. I guess you just have to say that!

The place was was nicely decorated. The bathrooms were nice and clean (not funny smells). The dinning area was spotless with updated sort of nautical beach hints. When we were seated, we asked for a high chair three separate times before one was finally brought to our table. The high chair turned out to be too small for our son, so we asked if we could use a booster seat on the end chair instead. The server seemed hesitant, mentioning she wasn't sure she'd be able to get by the chair. We said that was fine and instead placed the booster seat between my wife and me. After struggling to get our son comfortable, we eventually realized the booster seat has two different height settings depending on which side is facing down. It would have been helpful if that had been pointed out when it was brought to the table. Throughout the meal, our server seemed distracted and wasn't around very often. Our food was brought out by other staff members, which isn't necessarily a problem by itself, but combined with the lack of check-ins it made the service feel disconnected. The biggest disappointment came when I took my son outside while we waited. The benches, chairs, and handrails in the waiting area were covered in bird droppings. There were spider webs in multiple places, and the entrance to the restaurant itself looked dirty. I understand the restaurant is going for an old harbor or fishing-boat atmosphere, but there's a big difference between rustic and neglected. Instead of feeling charming or nautical, it felt like years of dirt and grime had simply been left in place. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but basic cleanliness and attentive service are things I expect from any restaurant, especially when dining with a young child. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback because the restaurant has potential, but our experience left us with little desire to return.

I had a red sangria, which was also exceptionally delicious! The only downside was the outdoor seating. It was much hotter than we expected, and we were told it would be comfortable and that it "felt good" outside. Unfortunately, the fans weren't enough to keep everyone cool, and I think adding misters would make a huge difference. The heat definitely took away from the overall experience. That said, it was an especially hot day, so I understand the circumstances. I'm not taking off a star because the food and service were excellent. I just wish we had been advised to sit inside instead of outside.

Having welcomed a newborn just a week ago, my wife and I have been entirely too sleep-deprived and busy to cook. What started as a simple errand ended up being one of the most heartwarming experiences we've had in a long time. When I ordered, Bella at the deli register kindly let me know there would be about a 20-minute wait due to call-in orders, offering me water and fresh bread while I waited. Since my wife and week-old baby were waiting in the air-conditioned car, I brought them inside to sit with me. Shortly after we sat down, a family dining nearby noticed our baby and struck up a warm conversation. A moment later, one of the women from the family came over to congratulate us and offered us some fresh pastries. She returned to our table with two pistachio-filled croissants and two espressos--a gesture that, given our level of sleep deprivation, couldn't have been more appreciated! I later learned from Bella that this incredibly kind woman was Valeria, a member of the Giuseppe family who owns the restaurant. As for the food itself, we got the Gloria sandwich on focaccia. It is honestly one of the best sandwiches we've ever had--so good that this was actually our second time ordering it in three days! I cannot thank Valeria, Bella, and the Giuseppe family enough for their exceptional hospitality and generosity. We left feeling truly cared for and look forward to being regular customers for years to come.

It's tucked into a quiet shopping center with easy parking and looks decent from the outside, but the inside was packed and loud enough that we could barely hear each other. The service felt completely indifferent from the start. I had made a reservation and noted that it was for a birthday, but the host didn't acknowledge either. Instead, we got an uninspired, "How many? Two? Follow me." That lack of attention continued throughout the meal. The bar was out of ingredients for my cocktail, so I ended up with an overpriced $14 glass of Zin. Worse, no one mentioned any shortages before we had time to look over the menu. After deciding what to order, my fiancé was told they were completely out of veal--even though veal is the base for around few different entrées. Appetizer: The beef carpaccio didn't match the menu description. When I pointed it out, the server simply brought some cheese to the table. It was just okay, but ultimately the best savory part of the meal. Both entrées were major disappointments. My shrimp scampi had rubbery, overcooked shrimp with okay garlic pasta that I could have made better at home. My fiancé's replacement chicken dish was heavily oversalted, with some pasta and vegetables on the side. The only bright spot was dessert. We grabbed a couple of treats from the display on our way out, and the mini cannoli and lemon gelato cheesecake were both great. Skip the homemade lemon cheesecake, though--it tasted more like barely sweetened yogurt. Overall, between sub-par , missing menu staples, and disappointing entrées, this was not the birthday dinner we were hoping for. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

On Saturday we wandered into TCI for dinner and started with the heirloom tomato and burrata with crostini. It was so fresh and delicious that I briefly considered writing the tomatoes a thank-you note. Next came the Harvest Valley Salad, which somehow managed to make me genuinely excited about lettuce--an achievement that deserves recognition from the culinary Olympics. For our entrée we ordered the Wagyu Steak Frites with chimichurri. The steak was cooked so perfectly it should probably be framed instead of sliced. Every bite was fantastic. We finished with the ube panna cotta, which was elegant, silky, and the kind of dessert that makes you promise you'll "just have one bite" before accidentally eating half of it. Nathan took wonderful care of us all evening. He was warm, friendly, attentive, and struck that perfect balance between making us feel welcome and giving us time to enjoy the gorgeous patio. Watching the sunset with live music in the background and that spectacular view? It was one of those evenings that quietly reminds you why people go out to eat in the first place. Apparently we enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back the very just two days for lunch. (Scientific research requires repeat testing.) We started with the hummus, which arrived looking like it belonged in an art gallery. Fortunately, it tasted every bit as good as it looked. Then came the chile relleno, which was absolutely outstanding. If this dish ever goes missing, I'd recommend checking my refrigerator first. Faith was wonderfully friendly and outgoing, and our food expeditor, David, was so genuinely warm and personable that by the time he left the table, it felt like we'd known him for years. Restaurants can teach hospitality, but that kind of kindness is simply who some people are. My only tiny suggestion: please turn on the patio misters during these triple-digit California afternoons. The food was keeping us warm emotionally; the weather was handling the rest. And on the way out we let Christine know the carpets at the entrances needed a vacuum. Fantastic food, exceptional service, beautiful views, and an atmosphere that keeps drawing us back. Cork Fire Kitchen has once again reminded us why it's one of our favorite places to dine. Bravo to the entire team!
