The worst sight in the world is pulling up to the Rainbow Oaks on a Saturday morning and seeing the parking lot full and people waiting outside. But the breakfast gods where with us, and we got an outside seat for four right away, it was a miracle! OMG my wife and I ordered the corned beef hash eggs benedict, she with home potatoes and me hash browns. This is to die for, yum, the corned beef hash was homemade and really good, the hollandaise sauce was delicious the hash browns were cooked perfect. My wife loved the home potatoes. Good coffee, and mimosas too. Our friends ordered something with eggs, pancakes sausage, bacon, there was soo much food on those plates. The pancakes were as big as my head, I thought it was two meals each plate. I'm gonna get that next time. Service is really good, quick and friendly people. They added more seats outside, which is good, I don't like the inside, it really loud and its impossible to carry on a conversation. So if its nice outside, I'd recommend it. read more

We were a party of four and have a service animal. They tried to seat us at a 4 tip table with our service dog taking up the aisle space. We asked for the bigger table next to us to accommodate us and they refused. They said that is only for a party of 5. One of the women we were with had been there before and she said oh don't worry I love this place they will help let me speak to the owner. We love this place. We've been here many times .my father-in-law was visiting and we wanted to take him to lunch. He's very old school and likes traditional American food. It's been very warm here lately This summer and rainbow Oaks has a fabulous air conditioning system! We got here around 2:00 pm on a Sunday and were immediately seated in a roomie booth with the window. We were greeted by our server and given menus. My father was very impressed with his club sandwich as usual. My husband got his chili burger with a fat french fry petals and I got a Reuben. Our meal came out all at the same time all prepared perfectly and everything was plated appealingly. Since it was a warm day, we all had several refills of soda and iced tea. Our server was attentive and before we even knew to ask, he brought us boxes because the portions are huge. We all had lunch the next day with our leftovers. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I always see this restaurant off the 15 on my daily commute so I'm glad I finally got to try it. The service is friendly & pretty typical for a dine in restaurant. Not too fast to where you think it's been sitting there but not too long of wait where you get impatient. The food is such big portions for my preference so I was able to split it into two meals, still delicious as leftovers. I'm picky on my ranch, and their ranch is delicious! We sat in the outdoor patio on a warm day and it wasn't too bad. Such a great breeze and the fans really helped. I was comfortable. Rainbow Oaks is one of my favorite restaurants! Whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner you will get a delicious meal and a ton of food. I have a hard time deciding what to get every time I eat here. They have a turkey wrap that is one of my favorites and their onion rings are some of the best I have ever had. Today I decided on the Cobb salad and my husband had the tri tip sandwich with onion rings. They accidentally brought me the chef salad instead of the Cobb and when I pointed it out, my waiter brought me a side of blue cheese for my salad. Stopped by this place on our way back from Escondido. Wilderness themed diner style restaurant. They serve traditional breakfast items along with lunch. We came on a Wednesday at around 10:30 am and had about a 30 minute wait. Service was friendly and fast but they seemed to be understaffed on waiters, so be patient. We ordered Denver omelette, some combo meal, and eggs Benedict. Portions are large and the food tasted good, but not refined. Their house made hot sauce is A+. A+++++++ We always love coming out to Rainbow Oaks. There's something SO fantastic that they don't do at any other restaurant. EVERY single day, at 12:00, everyone (with the exception of the occasional ungrateful fool) stands up and faces the flag, hats off, while the National Anthem plays. I don't know what to think of this place. The food was very good, but the service was terrible. I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but our food took over an hour to come when it was served to us. It had hollandaise sauce from someone else's order on the bottom of my plate, which got all over the table and my arm. The food was burnt. It was quite noisy either there, and they sat us in the sun. We asked to switch seats, which seemed to be very difficult for them. They were very rude about it. not thrilled with this place. Ambience is the best they've got to offer. Lodge vibe. I always wondered about that old weatherbeaten highway sign. Why don't they spruce it up? Is it a local classic? They brought the cups from the kitchen, didn't pour at our table. There was so much going on here, honestly I was stunned. I'm not one to send back the food. Don't want that stuff reheated. Honestly, I was tempted to just get up and leave. Soooo disappointed and not interested in a confrontation. I think this was a service issue, not a kitchen error. Wow! What a discovery! Our friends took us here for the first time and boy, what an experience! We had fresh brewed coffee which was delicious, then we shared their chicken fried steak, well done hash browns, and opted for their biscuit. They brought out an extra plate so we could share the meal. The portions were plentiful, the food was delicious, and our service was on point! I went over to the bar and ordered a non-alcoholic Heineken Zero, and it was brought to our table and conveniently added to our bill. We weren't too fond of the buttermilk biscuit, and will order an English Muffin if we ordered this same dish again. The dining area was really inviting! This is my second time having Bridget as a server, and both times, especially today, she was incredibly incompetent. I believe it's time for her to retire. Not once, but three times, she messed up my order, and each time, it was someone else's fault. The first time, she outright blamed me for ordering incorrectly, even though all three adults at the table remembered me asking for my meal and not what she brought out three times. ‍ The last time, she blamed the kitchen, and that's when I had enough. Clearly, she had to bring the food from the kitchen to the table and didn't notice again? That the order was incorrect? Never took accountability, never apologized, I had to make sure to ask her name and point it out to her. She continued to cast blame and insist she was correct all three times. It's a shame at her age that she still hasn't learned to apologize and take accountability. If you're coming here, ask for another server. My last experience was not pleasant either, and it should have been my last, but I returned because besides her and her "customer service," I've had pleasant experiences and the food is always delicious. The restaurant is always clean, and everyone else has always been great. I hope the manager does speak to her like he stated he would. The food was delicious comfort food, the restaurant was clean, and the service was exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customer experience. One thing that really stood out was watching a server who had just been double sat immediately acknowledge a new table and let them know he'd be right over. It's a small thing, but it's exactly what great hospitality looks like. I also accidentally left something behind, and a staff member ran it out to me before I drove away. My friend and I met for a late lunch about 1:30. There was plenty of space as they still had the lunch crowd. They have a full bar next to dining area. I ordered the Tuna Salad Melt, it comes on Marble Rye bread w/coleslaw, my friend ordered a Chicken Sandwich w/avocado, but no bread and Onion Rings. We had a very nice serving each. I loved the tuna salad, made just like my Mom. They have plenty of parking and outdoor/indoor dining. There is a nice grocery store next door which sells local wines and a little boutique near by(only open Sat & Sun. There is also a small park just in the area so you have choices all around you! I'm sure to go back again. If you get hung up in traffic off the 15 take the Mission/Fallbrook exit and it's right off the old 395 hwy. Worth the stop. I want to try their Prime Rib Special after 4! I didn't know what to think about Rainbow Oaks Restaurant. I read that they say the Pledge of Allegiance at noon every day. There are American flags everywhere. It was recommended wholeheartedly by a deeply right-wing family member. I was like: What is this place? But I went anyway, because the food looked good in the photos on Yelp. Food will build bridges and unite people, I fully believe that. Anyway, the food here is plentiful and good, so that alone is enough to visit. I wasn't under any obligation to salute to a flag when I visited, because we came for an early breakfast. The coffee is excellent -- probably the best coffee you'll have anywhere in Rainbow, let alone the surrounding area. The kind server let us know that they ground the beans fresh every morning, and they get the coffee beans from a local source. No wonder the coffee is so delicious! I got a California omelet, and it had lots of stuff in it like onions, peppers, avocado and cheese. It came with potatoes and two slices of toast (I got whole wheat toast). They buttered the toast really well! My kids got pancakes (the kids' pancakes are shaped like a mouse) and blueberry pancakes (they have hella blueberries in them). I would say, if you order the blueberry pancakes, ask for "light blueberries," because they really put their foot in these blueberry pancakes and add like two pints of blueberries in each order. Even the server, bless her heart, said, when looking at the blueberry pancakes: "That's a lot of blueberries." It was a lot of blueberries in the blueberry pancakes. We also got the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits and gravy can be hit or miss in southern California, but these b&gs were good and worth ordering if you're in the mood for white carbs on top of white carbs. The service is excellent. Our sever was a pro and refilled our coffee mugs before we even realized we needed to be topped off, and brought ketchup and hot sauce before we had to ask. This place is great and worth a visit if you're in Rainbow and looking for a great breakfast restaurant or a place to get lunch. read more
