I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I always see this restaurant off the 15 on my daily commute so I'm glad I finally got to try it. The service is friendly & pretty typical for a dine in restaurant. Not too fast to where you think it's been sitting there but not too long of wait where you get impatient. The food is such big portions for my preference so I was able to split it into two meals, still delicious as leftovers. I'm picky on my ranch, and their ranch is delicious! We sat in the outdoor patio on a warm day and it wasn't too bad. Such a great breeze and the fans really helped. I was comfortable. Rainbow Oaks is one of my favorite restaurants! Whether you want breakfast, lunch or dinner you will get a delicious meal and a ton of food. I have a hard time deciding what to get every time I eat here. They have a turkey wrap that is one of my favorites and their onion rings are some of the best I have ever had. Today I decided on the Cobb salad and my husband had the tri tip sandwich with onion rings. They accidentally brought me the chef salad instead of the Cobb and when I pointed it out, my waiter brought me a side of blue cheese for my salad. We came on a Wednesday at around 10:30 am and had about a 30 minute wait. Service was friendly and fast but they seemed to be understaffed on waiters, so be patient. We ordered Denver omelette, some combo meal, and eggs Benedict. Portions are large and the food tasted good, but not refined. Their house made hot sauce is A+. I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but our food took over an hour to come when it was served to us. We asked to switch seats, which seemed to be very difficult for them. They were very rude about it. not thrilled with this place. We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stop by Rainbow Oaks Restaurant and we're so glad we did! The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe and serves classic American breakfast done really well. Even though it was our first visit, we both ended up ordering from the daily specials instead of the regular menu. We tried the Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict and the Meat Lovers Omelette. Both plates were massive and we ended up not finishing the one of the plates, but every bite was worth it. The Eggs Benedict, especially, stood out with its hollandaise sauce. They brought the cups from the kitchen, didn't pour at our table. There was so much going on here, honestly I was stunned. I'm not one to send back the food. Don't want that stuff reheated. Honestly, I was tempted to just get up and leave. Soooo disappointed and not interested in a confrontation. I think this was a service issue, not a kitchen error. My family loves going here, they have great service and food. But today we went for Mother's Day and they told us a hour wait, which was completely okay because we had a big party. After a hour we asked again and they said 15 min. We saw them seat a party that was the size of our minus 1 person and so we just left. I don't like leaving bad reviews but my family and me waited outside in the heat for a hour which we had no problem waiting at all but after a hour and then them seating some people that got there after us was very upsetting and I don't think we will be back. read more

Wow! What a discovery! Our friends took us here for the first time and boy, what an experience! We had fresh brewed coffee which was delicious, then we shared their chicken fried steak, well done hash browns, and opted for their biscuit. They brought out an extra plate so we could share the meal. The portions were plentiful, the food was delicious, and our service was on point! I went over to the bar and ordered a non-alcoholic Heineken Zero, and it was brought to our table and conveniently added to our bill. We weren't too fond of the buttermilk biscuit, and will order an English Muffin if we ordered this same dish again. The dining area was really inviting! We were fortunate to hear the national anthem played at 12noon and everyone stood faced the flag and gave the appropriate respect to our flag. This place was recommended to me by a local. And I was surprised how much I loved it! The restaurant itself is super clean and tidy, and it's quite inviting and homey. I didn't know what to think about Rainbow Oaks Restaurant. I read that they say the Pledge of Allegiance at noon every day. There are American flags everywhere. It was recommended wholeheartedly by a deeply right-wing family member. I was like: What is this place? But I went anyway, because the food looked good in the photos on Yelp. Food will build bridges and unite people, I fully believe that. Anyway, the food here is plentiful and good, so that alone is enough to visit. I wasn't under any obligation to salute to a flag when I visited, because we came for an early breakfast. The coffee is excellent -- probably the best coffee you'll have anywhere in Rainbow, let alone the surrounding area. The kind server let us know that they ground the beans fresh every morning, and they get the coffee beans from a local source. No wonder the coffee is so delicious! I got a California omelet, and it had lots of stuff in it like onions, peppers, avocado and cheese. It came with potatoes and two slices of toast (I got whole wheat toast). They buttered the toast really well! My kids got pancakes (the kids' pancakes are shaped like a mouse) and blueberry pancakes (they have hella blueberries in them). I would say, if you order the blueberry pancakes, ask for "light blueberries," because they really put their foot in these blueberry pancakes and add like two pints of blueberries in each order. Even the server, bless her heart, said, when looking at the blueberry pancakes: "That's a lot of blueberries." It was a lot of blueberries in the blueberry pancakes. We also got the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits and gravy can be hit or miss in southern California, but these b&gs were good and worth ordering if you're in the mood for white carbs on top of white carbs. The service is excellent. Our sever was a pro and refilled our coffee mugs before we even realized we needed to be topped off, and brought ketchup and hot sauce before we had to ask. This place is great and worth a visit if you're in Rainbow and looking for a great breakfast restaurant or a place to get lunch. read more

This quaint, rustic style restaurant is unassuming and a hidden gem! We went on a Monday morning at around 11:30am, was greeted right away and seated. There's 3 dining areas, the main restaurant, the bar area or outdoor. There's a warm vibe to it, definitely a local hangout. There's many dishes to choose from that will satisfy any craving. We chose the breakfast route. Hubby asked Martin if there were any specials and we chose what he said weren't on the menu. We had the Blueberry French Toast Combo and the Corned Beef Hash Benedict with a Chipotle hollandaise sauce. While we waited, we had their house drip coffee and it was goooooood! Our food came out in a timely manner, and the visual alone made our eyes drool. Hubby's Benedict was full-flavored, eggs cooked just right, hash was delicious and the english muffin wasn't soggy. My blueberry french toast? LOVED! Bacon & sausage (It came with 2 of each!) seriously, the BEST I've ever had. Bacon was huge and fried perfectly. The sausages? The outside was crisp and popped when I bit into it. I always prefer bacon, but if breakfast sausages were always like this, I dare say I wouldn't be able to decide! As we sat there utterly amazed at this restaurant, if it couldn't get any better it did! Out of nowhere, the national anthem started playing (instrumental) and EVERY person in that place stood up in silence and put their hands over their hearts til it finished. Apparently, they do this everyday at 12:00pm. It was a wonderful surprise and we appreciated and loved it. Respect to every one there! Fallbrook residents, throw away any older gift certificates to this once amazing go-to restaurant. In town for a wedding and met sister for breakfast (no longer Fallbrook resident). New owner would not honor her gift certificate. Would not even accept it in trade for the $52 we used. When you buy a business you accept all of its debts. We lose $116 and she gains it. My friends and I (group of 6) had called ahead and reserved a table for 12:30. We arrive at 12:20 and proceed to wait 20 minutes to get sat. We then get sat outside and told we would have our order taken in a second. 5-7 minutes later they proceed to sit a group of biker (around 10-12) at the table next to use. We wait around 30 minutes after we've been seated. They then go and take the group of bikers order before us. After that we wait another 15 minutes. We then have someone go say something about us and they then move us inside. After that they take our order and I asked about how long it would be. The waiter then in a rude and condescending tone said would be over 45 minutes to an hour to get our food and his reasoning is that it is a restaurant. Our own waiter doesn't even bother to refill our waters and a different lady that was waitressing other tables fills it for us. I leave and see the group of bikers that were sat after us finished with their food. All around some of the worst service we have every received I would never recommend this place to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've never left a review but because of the absolute horrific experience I felt this was to terrible not to let others know how bad it is. Onion rings were tasty, too. One of the others ordered a special of corned beef and cabbage. I could see it was a generous portion and he said it was delicious. This is the second time visiting and the first time with the new owner. We were sat rather promptly on a Thursday afternoon around 11:15am. Great or so I think. But then no one acknowledged us for drinks until 20 mins later. Then I watched the waitress take food orders for other parties that came in after us including the couple directly behind us. She finally took our order 20 mins after the drinks. We waited patiently for our food as I continued to see other people getting their food who once again came in after us. Mind you there was four of us, not an epic order. As a matter of fact we all ordered sandwiches and fries. Difficult ??? Ummm no. Then we waited another 40 mins, where I had to wave someone down to get coffee and refills on water. Not one time did anyone check on us during this time. We finally got up and spoke to the manager who pretty much said "I have reservations for large parties that take precedent over four people's food". She was rude and dismissive and didn't seem to care. When I explained to her we were waiting over an hour for our food she was very patronizing and rude.
