They do not cook your food according to your needs. Although our two orders specified "no egg, no oil" as our receipt showed, the food arrived very oily. A complete disregard for our wishes for our order not to have oil. The waitress said, " here are your meals, no oil." That was a lie as can be seen in the photos. After speaking with the staff all we got was, "we're sorry about that." $100+ poorly spent. This is the second time they have done this to us, we will never trust them again to cook our food as we require. We have a low tolerance to fats and oils. Evidently they don't care or the cooks can't read English. At least they left out the egg in our dishes. If you have allergies, like we do, be very cautious. I had a rough night since I was hungry and ate a small amount of the food. I did not want to embarrass our guests by complaining about our two meals being unacceptable. We called the restaurant afterwards and got "we're sorry". So are we. Second chance coming here and the same results. read more

Absolutely terrible. I have never had worse quality food from a restaurant, ever. I ordered $65 worth of different items to try and not ONE single thing was good. I tried 4 different sushi rolls, house salad, fried squid, and a side order of the noodles. The noodles were the worst. They tasted like they were a week old, stale, and like cardboard. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!!! I Picked up order. The young girls who checked me out were insistent that my order was correct when I wanted to check it. Got home and my Mom's California roll was missing. I called and spoke with Ashley who was insistent that I did receive my whole order. She would not entertain the idea that they made a mistake. She COULD NOT refund the cost of the California roll without canceling the whole order, and she didn't have my card to run a new order. She offered to put a California roll on my profile. Would not refund the 6 bucks. She insisted that they put the California roll as well as the 2 orders of sashimi into the same box. She told me there was nobody else to escalate the issue to.....then... I could hear her speaking to a man who she later said was the owner,(Andy), who looked at the cameras....and relayed to her that I got my whole order, I was welcome to come in and look at the video. (What good is a video of workers making a California roll gonna mean when I didn't get my roll in the box I took home). She told me, "He doesn't speak on the phone" when I asked to speak with him) If you go here, don't trust the staff, check your order and ticket, especially on pick up orders. I ordered 7 items. They put everything (except the California roll) in 4 little boxes. Separate boxes on to go orders would have helped with this issue. Excellent fresh food for a great price! We arrived around 2:25pm and barely made the lunch special cut off of 2:30pm without issue. The price was significantly cheaper on the lunch menu. We did observe people who came after us had much larger portions hence the price difference. Just keep that in mind. We were satisfied with our lunch portion & price. The staff was very friendly and we received our food quickly. I enjoyed the green tea as well. The outside wasn't much to look at but the inside was nicely decorated and maintained. read more

Yamato just recently opened up in Marianna where the old Pizza Hut used to be. That location is right off of Lafayette street (Hwy 90) and directly in front of the movie theater. Being the Asian food lover that I am, my friends and I had to try it out! First impressions were good. The inside was totally remodeled, and it looks great too. Modern aesthetic combined with a hint of Asian flare give the place a lot to offer. The space is a bit small but they have decent seating and quick turn around time. This place is not teppenyaki style, so they don't cook on a grill in front of you. Rather you are waited on and brought your food. We went only a few days after their grand opening, and I must say I was impressed with the performance of the staff. Everyone I encountered was nice, and our waitress was very prompt and got our food out to us extremely quickly even while being moderately busy. I'm impressed by the prices. I posted pictures of the menu so you can see for yourself, but they are very well priced. I paid a total of $32 for 2 people who both got appetizer/sushi and a main course. The meal could easily be $20 or less at lunch for 2 people depending on what you get. As for the quality of the food, it was also excellent. The Yaki Soba was very tasty, and they give you a house yum yum sauce on the table to add as much as you want. The hibachi chicken lunch portion was good, rice had a very fresh flavor, and the vegetables all around were cooked well. The meat was good, but I felt in comparison it lacked some flavor. The Miami Roll has cream cheese, crab, and avocado, and it was very fresh with 6 large pieces. Very impressed! My friends have been back since and ordered online for pick up, which apparently is easy to do. I definitely want to go back and try some more! read more

The food was pretty good although everything is cooked on a hibachi grill in the kitchen not in front of you. Because of this our rice was hot but the steak and veggies were like warm. The food was tasty though. This location does not serve alcohol, as a heads up. The bathroom situation was also interesting as it was a one person set up for a very busy restaurant. Found the food to be blah!! Been to this restaurant 3 times now and it is incredible. The rice is super soft and delicious, the Rangoons are the best I've ever had. The sushi and chicken were phenomenal as well and the service is great! Me and my girlfriend will travel the 55 minutes from Tallahassee to eat here, and we can't find anything like it. Being it's popular and small there is often wait times and can get loud inside. The option to call in an order for pickup is available- we've done this several times and it's always delicious. I love Yamato! It is my favorite place to eat! Not just in Marianna, but in the local area as well I recommend getting the filet steak hibachi. The steak is tender, savory, and moist! Their is something "shady" going on with this place nepotism or just outright DISCRIMINATION we're not sure, but the atmosphere is very shady and unfriendly (hey and the sushi isn't fresh!!!)
