It seemed like 5 years in the making this Yami place sat in the shadows with its "coming soon" sign, like a promise someone forgot to keep. Tonight, the doors finally opened. No fanfare, no champagne, just a neon glow and the smell of hot oil drifting into the street. Inside, it's calm -- the calm of a crew holding it together with adrenaline and sheer will. The menu is split like a passport full of bad decisions: sushi on one side, Chinese comfort food on the other. Spicy tuna rolls. Shrimp tempura. Chicken and broccoli. Beijing beef. Twelve bucks gets you a plate heavy enough to bruise your knee and a drink to wash it down. The food? Fresh, hot, and surprisingly honest for a first night. No gimmicks, no self-important plating. Just cooks hustling behind the counter, trying to feed people well. And in a world of soulless chains, that counts. Four out of five stars. Not because it's perfect -- nothing that's alive ever is -- but because it's trying, and that's worth something.

General Tso, Orange Chicken , " fried rice" with a Spring Roll.

Food was NOT fresh. This is my first time eating there and it was very disappointing. I ordered General Tso's chicken and orange chicken. Chicken was dry and didnt look fresh, the rice was dry and hard but the spring rolls were okay. Very disappointing.

Having waited for months for this place to open, I was hoping to have another place to buy Sushi made to order. Well, the joke's on me, I guess. It's a place that sells BAD Asian food with a meager four Sushi roll options. I had Lo Mein, "Japanese chicken" and chicken Gyoza. At best the food was barely warm, dried out, and without any distinctive flavoring. There were several other choices, none visually appealing. The counter help knew nothing about the food. I won't be back.

Great food. Clean and fast. New opens. Give it a try. Easy to park . The boss is very friendly.

Beijing beef, pepper chicken, and fried rice

The food is always hot and the people are friendly. Both the Beijing beef and pepper chicken are cooked well and so are the veggies. They give you big portions for a decent price.

Combo 3 lo mien noodles with "Japanese chicken" General Tso Chicken and Pepper beef. Enough food here for 3 meals!

Great oriental good at a good price. I'll come back there are a lot more entree's to try

Poor customer service. It is basically over priced mall food. The staff were not welcoming and the food tasted old.

The food is amazing and so close to what we ate in Japan when we went two years ago. You also always get amazing service and everyone is super friendly. It's also really cute in there. Here is the food we have tried and enjoyed. Gyoza was all kinds of crispy deliciousness. We also enjoyed the Kobe meatballs. For dinner, we enjoyed the crispy and tasty chicken katsu. Love the sauce that comes with it. The shrimp with udon noodles was so flavorful and there is a good breading on the shrimp. This will sound weird in a Japanese restaurant but the star was the French fries. They are crispy and have an amazing flavorful. No fry will ever compare. Ah-mazing!! If you love Asian food, do yourself a favor and eat here. It's one of the best restaurants in Cleveland by far.

Love that kind of efficiency. She helped us choose specialty rolls and every pick was on point. Lobster roll was excellent with great presentation. The salmon roll was a standout: spicy salmon inside, torched salmon on top, finished with a dill sauce that gave it almost a Scandinavian vibe -- really unique and delicious. Beautiful decor, not overly bright, which made the whole place feel comfortable and relaxed. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

Poké Cleveland is a Hawaiian cuisine chain with just one location in Highland Heights. I tried their food for weekend lunch. It was a fun new-to-me place to try! FOOD: Poké Cleveland offers create your own bowl (think Chipotle line style) if you're in the mood to create. An alternative is a signature bowl with pre-determined ingredients and some customization. They're also well known for their bubble teas! I ordered one of the signature bowls House Ahi Bowl ($18). Each bowl can be customized as spicy and non-spicy, which is a huge plus. I always actively avoid spicy foods during dining, this selection made it very easy. The bowl included cucumber, edamame, green onion, and seaweed salad. I added premium toppings including avocado ($1.75) and masago (fish eggs) ($1.75). The fish tasted very fresh. The toppings were generously portioned. AMBIANCE: True to its promise of "fast Hawaiian cuisine," the service was expeditious and reasonably friendly. The cafe is pretty simple with metal tables, a lot of room to fit everyone in your party, and ample natural light. It fills with the sunlight and radiance on sunny days. VALUE: Specials are posted in the cafe and available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. There are a few specials on purchased pairs of bubble teas or bowls. Come as a pair or treat yourself! Poké Cleveland was a solid choice for one time lunch. Fresh, quick, and filling. I did not see any unique or unusual exciting menu items that would keep me coming back.

The General Tso chicken was a letdown across the board. No heat, barely any sauce, and the lightly steam broccoli came out cold and wet, which made my crispy chicken a soggy lukewarm mess. That's a fundamental execution issue. A friend ordered the ramen and had it worse -- crunchy noodles and a cold soup base. Cold ramen broth isn't a style choice, it's a mistake. Front of house compounded the experience. Slow, visibly uncertain, and in clear need of training. You can tell the staff wants to do well but hasn't been given the tools to get there. That's a management problem. The bones of a decent restaurant are here. Right now the food and service aren't meeting the standard the presentation promises that a mid price Asian pacific restaurant needs to hit.
