I randomly discovered Poké Cleveland while driving around and really craving poké. Practically manifested finding this cafe. Poké Cleveland is a Hawaiian cuisine chain with just one location in Highland Heights. I tried their food for weekend lunch. It was a fun new-to-me place to try! FOOD: Poké Cleveland offers create your own bowl (think Chipotle line style) if you're in the mood to create. An alternative is a signature bowl with pre-determined ingredients and some customization. They're also well known for their bubble teas! I ordered one of the signature bowls House Ahi Bowl ($18). Each bowl can be customized as spicy and non-spicy, which is a huge plus. I always actively avoid spicy foods during dining, this selection made it very easy. The bowl included cucumber, edamame, green onion, and seaweed salad. I added premium toppings including avocado ($1.75) and masago (fish eggs) ($1.75). The fish tasted very fresh. The toppings were generously portioned. AMBIANCE: True to its promise of "fast Hawaiian cuisine," the service was expeditious and reasonably friendly. The cafe is pretty simple with metal tables, a lot of room to fit everyone in your party, and ample natural light. It fills with the sunlight and radiance on sunny days. VALUE: Specials are posted in the cafe and available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. There are a few specials on purchased pairs of bubble teas or bowls. Come as a pair or treat yourself! Poké Cleveland was a solid choice for one time lunch. Fresh, quick, and filling. I did not see any unique or unusual exciting menu items that would keep me coming back. read more

I visited this restaurant today for the first time and I immediately was greeted by one of the workers. The way the restaurant operates it is very similar to Chipotle and the worker was very patient and friendly while I made my selections. I got the create your own ahi tuna bowl which was very good and perfect for lunch. I definitely will be back since the food and service was phenomenal. read more

Fresh clean food made with simple ingredients. The spicy tuna was fresh and had great flavor, the brown rice was cooked perfect, the mango added a great sweetness, the charred corn was sweet and smokey, the cilantro added a nice pop of fresh herb flavor to cut through the acidic pickled ginger and sweet teriyaki bbq sauce. To top of the bowl I got fruikake which is dried seaweed, sesame seeds, and salt, which added a great umami flavor to round out the dish. Good prices too, for how much food they give you. read more

Speaking for a hand created sushi bowl, so I can't say this for their boba tea. Handy joint that adds some diversity for food options in this corner of town, but the ingredients were much too largely chopped and rice was not the right type of rice for a sushi bowl, making this dish a little haphazard. Nice enough folks though, but for COVID purposes, I do wish they had put on gloves while working between customers' dishes and wiped down their tables in between customers. Rice: A sushi rice is usually short grained sushi with a hint of vinegar and a slip of sugar to bring out that well roundedness that any savory fish/meat with the most delicate soy sauce would balance out. This rice here was either not cooked long enough or too long bc it was long grain, lacking in the bounce or chew that a short grain sushi rice should have. This made a strange contrast against the salmon that I got. Not unpleasant but a little unbalanced. The other ingredients were way too large bite sized. Scallions were chopped 1 inch and cucumbers were large and chunky. Each bite of any salad really should be able to put together 1 of each ingredient onto a spoon to relish the salad experience. In this case, each spoonful could only fit 1 cucumber bite or a scallion. Highly recommend slicing those cucumbers thinner and the scallions julienned. Salmon quality was ok. The population dynamic here however did seem to support the working crew, so if big man sized bites are what you're going for, then this is the place to go. If you want something w/ a bit more finesse and put together in dishes, maybe when they can get their ingredients smaller and rice a little better, then I would consider going back. read more

I had a jasmine white rice and dry veggie slaw with spicy salmon, pickled jalapeno, cucumber, pickled ginger, cilantro with teriyaki sauce and eel sauce with a mango bubble tea. It was all refreshing, filling and blended well together. I want to go back for more. The service was prompt, witty, friendly and extra considerate. The owner was all that and more, giving the place an even more personal feel with his . The ambiance, open floor plan with bright lighting and floor to ceiling windows on the corner of a block of restaurants and other services. You line up and order your food much as you would at Panda Express or Subway, all ingredients are on display for you to see as you choose. Effecient and the seating was well spaced and clean. Yuck! Over priced poke, sushi super small portions. Rice is a joke, they call it jasmine but clearly it is not jasmine is cheap box rice that tastes like uncle ben instant rice. Not to mention the person who served us was condescending and rude. Place was empty (not surprising) . Last time i went here was last year and now I remember why I dont go here. Our office literally never comes here and we have groups of 100s of students that visit from out of state and we never recommend this garbage sushi wanna be poke place- overpriced and no flavor. read more

As a first-timer, I'd say I wish they had more signature bowls show-casing each protein as well as some creative prowess. Alas, my wife and I ended up getting their Poke Ono and a make-your-own with tuna, salmon, edamame, cucumbers, seaweed salad, avocado, and habanero crystals. Something you'll notice, however, is that all the ingredients that add moisture (e.g. avocado, tamago, seaweed salada) to the bowl cost extra which makes balancing the texture of any bowl an expensive endeavor. Imitation crab stick is also crazy cheap in grocery stores and is paired with fish in most sushi rolls, I feel it should've been listed and priced more as a topping rather than a primary protein. There is also a lack of sushi rice as a option. In the end, our bowls were filling and the individual ingredients were indeed tasty. Overall maybe not the best poke place ever but a respectable option especially being in the midwest. Just a heads up, the website tends to over-estimate the wait time so you may want to pop in to check the real status of your order if you get there early for pick-up. read more

Ate lunch here with my daughter last week, my first time there and I loved it. We both had the spicy salmon poke bowl w/ brown rice. We both opted for wasabi and sweet eel sauce and they were both delicious. The dining room was a decent size and super clean. The food was quick and service friendly. The prices are fair for the quality and quantity of the ingredients you will enjoy. The bill was $33 for both of us, including our fountain drinks. read more

The food here is amazing! Have enjoyed it every time and am thankful for the helpful staff's recommendations! Giving 3 stars as the staffing here is poor during lunch hours. Consistently only have 2 people behind the counter and my last 3 visits I waited probably 25 minutes each time to get my order taken as the line moves so slowly. A reliably tasty place for poke! There are so many different toppings to choose from to keep things interesting and the bowls are very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and quick to help you while the store is clean and quiet. My custom bowl had the power and spring mix on the bottom topped with spicy salmon and nearly all of the available no add-on priced toppings. The mixes were fresh and the toppings were fun! My friends really liked their seaweed salad topping but their avocado was pretty oxidized when they got it. The pineapple wasn't really my cup of tea but it was nice to try and find out! I love their sauces and felt great and satisfied after a single bowl (though I don't eat very much and think most people would enjoy having the double protein serving to feel satiated). I wouldn't say this is a very authentic poke place but I'd say it's one of the best tasting in the area. Would recommend and come here again in the future! read more

Fish is more expensive than chicken, or tofu, or meat so Poke costs more than the others. Put it in your rotation you won't be disappointed. read more

The other reviews are good, so perhaps we stopped by on a very bad day, but our meal was extremely disappointing. I feel like we wasted $30+. I have had quite a bit of poke and one of the keys is using cool rice. We came home with our takeout and found our raw tuna partially cooked by the steam from the very very hot rice in the bowls. The result was a weird, gummy tuna that was half cooked. Our bowls were also primarily cucumber and green onion with very little of any other ingredients. It felt like a lot of filler ingredients. This was especially frustrating because when I picked up our order, we were told we were the only order that hour -- so there should not have been any rush or frenzy to make the food! In the least, the bowls were still edible. Unfortunately we were not able to drink our bubble teas. We got taro bubble tea with boba. The drink hadn't been well blended so there were globs of syrup sweetener throughout the drink. The drink also tasted very watered down and very sugary compared to other taro bubble teas I've had. The worst part of the meal was the tapioca pearls in the bubble tea -- I don't know how these are supposed to be prepared or what went wrong, but almost all of our bubbles were hard and starchy on the inside. There was a powdery, rock-like chunk in each pearl (picture attached). We couldn't finish them due to the flavor and texture. I was very disappointed. I only gave two stars because at least the fish and avocado in our poke bowls were high quality (although they were very oddly cut, some bites were very small and some were very large). Since we are using Hawaiian words, The ono bowl, not ono and actually disappointing. Build your own bowl, I spent 21 bucks per bowl and I'm sure it's for add on ingredients, but it just seems like any other haole business just slaps the name poke on and gives a small amount of what you really want. These bowls tastes like something you'd buy in Kailua, HI for a lot of money but not satisfying. I get the owner is "Hawaii born, OHio raised" but maybe he should visit his/her homeland to go pick up 15 poke bowls from foodland and figure out what he/she should fix. All in all, service is great and much mahalosfor ALMOST satisfying my craving. read more

This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to get a quick/healthy meal! I've visited several times and I've never left disappointed. So many fresh options to choose from. I now have just the right combination. I start with brown rice, add fresh ahi tuna, topped with the healthy greens, seaweed salad, edamame, carrots,avocado (extra charge) and a few other options. I top it all off with furikake and the signature Hale sauce with the sweet eel sauce on the side. I'm usually not a soda drinker, but the bottled soda sold here is awesome. I LOVE the ginger ale. I have been to some seedy, scary, joints that had great bowls. I have also been to the surgically clean, ultra polished fancy Poke places that had rubbish bowls. So it is a little disarming to find a place that is spotless and full of good food... Here it is. The protiens are all quite exceptional in the freshness and flavor categories. It doesn't taste like is has been frozen and then thawed. The non-protien choices are all fresh and flavorful, this is to be expected... The toppings and sauces are exceptional. I tried a few and they are all amazing. It turns out that all but one are made on site and it shows. Delicate balances of savory and sweet. The spicier varieties get more complex not just hotter. This place is amazing! We were on our way to Chipotle when I spotted Poké Fresh across the street and decided to check it out instead. I'm so glad we did! There is a Chipotle style order counter where your food is made in front of you as you choose your toppings. The servers are super helpful and willing to give recommendations if needed. Our food was fresh, filling, and delicious, and I had enough left over for lunch the next day as well. Try some bubble tea while you're there as well! Wow! My college aged son told me this place was really delicious and reasonably priced! He was right! There were 3 of us and we tipped 30% and it was less than $30! Our 10 year old got the kids bowl and he was full and didn't finish it! I got an amazing shrimp bowl and got to pick all these incredible toppings - added seaweed salad for a dollar, well worth it! My wife got the vegetarian and she loved it. Greens brown rice and power greens for base - you can do any combination or just one! The sauces and crunch items make it even better!
