It's wild to see a 5 out of 5 stars on Yelp. But if any place should have it - it's Yanas. This place is really something special and you'll feel it as soon as you walk in. Comfy seats, free adult beverages while you sit, and hands down - And I mean it - the best haircut I've ever had. I don't want to tell you who gives the best haircut because she's always so busy and it's hard to get an appointment - but she deserves all the praise. So if you got get Masha. They're all fantastic but Masha can do a fade and a straight razor shave like she grew up in downtown Chicago. She makes me so damn handsome. Also, her sister Natasha works here too and she does an incredible pedicure. It's the perfect balance between luxury and price. I won't go anywhere else in the Northshore again. read more

This review is based on two visits... Yana is a boy whisperer and husband hair saver. I'm so glad my hubby ran across this place on Yelp. After he told me about it, I kept running across one great review after another. After looking at his crazy professor hair, I forced him to book an appointment. I just couldn't bear to look at it anymore. It was so long! He had the same stylist for years, but she retired right before the pandemic, so it was stressful finding someone. Going to Yana was the best decision ever. Even his former stylist (a dear friend of ours) agreed Yana gave him a killer good cut. My hubby left home disheveled and came home a cleaned up and new man. His tiny bald spot was nicely covered up with some pro layering. His hair still looks so good! All for $30! Now, on to my 14 year old twin boys. They hate everything (and most adults) right now. I mean they're teenagers! They were both complaining about their hair, since they were trying to grow it out. They were starting to look like drowned rats. It was time to see Yana. I told them they had to know exactly what they wanted done with their hair before they paid her a visit. No walking in unprepared. They spent a few days deciding how they wanted to look. I have one kid that's impossible to please, so I was really worried. He's super OCD and edgy and doesn't trust anyone. Let me tell you, Yana had no fear when it came to my boys, because she also has an older boy and "gets" it. She pulled my difficult son aside (he was so stressed) and she worked her magic and listened to everything he wanted...step by step...and he was so happy. Both my boys left pleased as pie! I mean no complaining whatsoever! OMG, Yana is a teen boy whisperer. The salon is very safe. There are only three cutting stations (pretty sure) and a lounge area. Each chair has an ultraviolet light above it. In between clients, Yana cleaned the area, including the scissors and all her equipment. Then she spent time cleaning up in the back before cutting everyone. There was only one other client each time we were in there. We booked everything online and we paid via our Chase Quick Pay. Tanya has become my new favorite barber. Her cuts and styling are perfect, and there is no lack of attention to detail. For anyone particularly concerned about Covid, they follow all of the appropriate protocols, and the shop is maintained at a very clean and sanitized level. The best and salon where I can entrust my hair into the hands of a professional. Yana and her team is the best hairdressers I've ever met. Due to the previous unsuccessful hair coloring, my hair was in very terrible condition (Yellow blonde and all the hair broke from the top of my head because the previous hairdresser had overexposed the dye on my hair ). Yana was able not only to restore my hair, but also I achieved the hair color that I wanted. From now on, I only go to Yana and trust her with my hair, no one else. She will always advise what is best for my hair and will do everything to make me look good. I definitely recommend it, you will not regret it. read more

Old school barbershop with good customer service. A lot of people have been regulars for many,many years. Open 8:30am-8pm, with street parking and by the Metra rail...it's convenient for people on the go. The barber is a real nice fellow; always with a smile or joke while sprucing up people's mops or giving a shave. read more

I highly recommend Yana's Barbershop of Ravinia. Yana opened her own new shop on May 29, 2020 after Illinois allowed barbershops to reopen. She has installed all kinds of safety and hygiene devices and measures to insure that her clients will be protected from COVID-19 during the pandemic. The atmosphere there is unlike any barbershop I have been in before.  Very comfortable surroundings. High class ambience. The barbers there (Yana & Tanya) are very friendly and highly skilled. They do a wonderful job of making your hair look great. They have an online booking service, which not only saves time, but also sends you reminder notices.  Manicures & pedicures are also available in private areas. Their prices are reasonable and there is plenty of free parking available.  I have been going to Yana for several years and she is the best experienced barber I have had.  You will definitely come away happy.                Paul Cherner read more

This place has saved my marriage! My husband (a do-it-yourself-er) used to cut his own hair! It actually upset me to look at him! (I'm a Leo so I'm into how your hair looks--andbald is cute too--it's the bad haircut that causes me pain.)Then he found Yana and, when he comes home after his haircut with her, he looks awesome and always says "I didn't tell her anything," meaning she gives him a fabulous cut that makes us BOTH happy! Thank you, Yana, I'm getting my next cut with you because you are obviously a talented hair artist!
