My 12 year old has been asking me for a "real barber' for awhile instead of the kid place i take him. I saw Rosa had amazing reviews and does a lot of boys his age so booked an appointment. I find that many hair salons don't allow you to book online so appreciated that I could book online for Rosa. It's a cute little house that i probably drive by everyday yet have somehow never noticed. Inside they have a bunch of talented barbers, snacks, coffee and a nice sized waiting room. Rosa was ready for us when we got there and my son explained that he really waited to grow out his curly hair. She knew exactly what "tiktok" trend he was going for and got to work. I'm usually not a fan of the grown out look, but she did it in a way that even I liked it. She also recommended products for him and taught him how to style it now that it's growing out. My son left satisfied with the experience and his new haircut. I've caught him admiring himself in his phone camera a few times since we left. We will see Rosa in a month! read more

I'm so happy I made an appointment with Rosa, because she turned out to be an expert. I can't tell you how big my smile was. I was even shy to stare in the mirror for too long cause the color was so obviously gorgeous. She matched the color perfectly with my skin tone and eyes. I asked our window washer where he got his haircut because it was so good. He referred me to Dimitre at Northbrook Barber Shop. Before I could get there, I referred my friend. His haircut was also great. I finally went in today and I couldn't be happier. I spoke with him for a few minutes and told him the style that I was looking for. This place is a hidden gem! Everyone who works here is always upbeat and positive. I have been coming here for 2 years now and have never had a bad haircut. I've been looking for long-term relationship.. a professional one with a barber. After moving to Northbrook in June of 2019, I thought I found fave at Magic Scissors. But he took ill. I went to the New Way shop in the White Plains shopping center, but nothing clicked. It's hard to make connections during a pandemic. So, I tried this shop. First win: a website for making appointments. Second: the shop is newly opened after a gut rehab so it feels very clean. Third: while the haircut was shorter than I'm used to, one of my son's said it wasn't my same "old man haircut" and he liked it. Fourth: there are two people cutting hair here, so I can try both of them. Can this be the end of my search? I don't know, but there are possibilities here. read more

Northbrook Barber Shop makes it incredibly easy to book an appointment online. The waiting room is well stocked with refreshments on the off chance that you wait - it's primarily by appointment. The shop itself is exceptionally clean, well layer out. I usually see Juan, who is a throwback barber - shaves, hot towels, skin fades, etc.... I just called to book my first appointment. I was declined my request to see a barber, because I am female. I always do a short fade, I am not sure why this company feels entitled to deny service to me because of my gender. If a client wants to see a barber, and get their hair cut by a barber, why does my gender matter. I have never been so overtly discriminated against by a business. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. It is a beautiful, old-fashioned barbershop with very comfortable new (but old-style) chairs. The barbershop for men is on the first floor and the ladies salon is on the lower level. Everyone is very friendly so I look forward to my haircut every four weeks. read more

I found this Barber shop when looking for something for older kids, my kids grew out of KidSnips. Rosa does a great job with both my boys! One likes his hair longer and the other shorter. My boys also love going because they can have water, soda and candy while waiting. The comfortable leather sofa and TV are great for me.
