Ordered a crunch roll, miso salmon rice bowl, teriyaki salmon rice bowl, & 2 blue crab hand rolls Everything was fresh & good! My boyfriend loves this place for their blue crab hand roll ($12 each)

Overall a good "to go" takeout only, but not a dine-in spot as it used to be many years ago at a close-by location on MacKay Lane and Artesia Blvd a block away. The quality is good, but the prices are maybe higher than I anticipated, although if you compare the portions and freshness versus going to those Japanese supermarkets who sell fresh daily pre-prepared sushi packages who actually charge more, this is a way smarter, better option than Mitsuwa, Tokyo Central, etc for sushi

First visit since they closed their dine in restaurant years ago. A friend mentioned their California rolls have real crab - I happen to have a guy who loves those simple rolls. The So Cal fires caused my schedule to hiccup, so take out sushi sounded like a great idea. Yanagi Kitchen was on my list. I was fully prepared for subpar sushi and soggy tempura. I was wrong! The 8pc sushi special was good, fresh and enjoyed with shoyu and wasabi (glad I ordered extra, we like it spicy.) He loved the blue crab California roll and I have to admit, it was yummy. The 6pc shrimp tempura, mixed veggie tempura and potstickers were all fantastically crispy. I ordered extra spicy ponzu to mix with the tempura sauce and all of it was super delicious. He slurpped a miso soup and I nibbled on pickled ginger. Both of us agreed if one must do take out sushi, Yanagi Kitchen is the place to go. The only thing missing was sake, so I'll pick some up for the wine fridge to have on hand for next time. Take out sushi at Yanagi Kitchen ROCKS!

Downgrading to four stars because the app is unreliable, and I had to fight to get the food I ordered and for which I had already paid. I ordered via the business' own app today, which I have done numerous times with no problem. Today I ordered with a 5pm pickup time. The app took my order, the business sent me a confirmation text, and the business charged my credit card. But when my kid went to pick the order up, it wasn't there. They asked to see a screenshot of the order, which my kid did not have. So I went there myself. I showed them the order confirmation in the app. And the text confirming my order. I advised that I could see through my bank app that they had already charged me. They were nice, but they seemed helpless. They kept telling me that they should have received an order slip on their end but had not. We went back and forth like this several times. Finally, I said, "So what do we do?" They called their boss, who confirmed he could see the order on his end. So they finally started making the order. In the end, they were nice and apologetic and offered me a free miso soup (which I declined). What a hassle. As soon as I showed them the order on my phone (which was in their own app), they should have started making the order. It wasn't my fault that their system wasn't working, but they acted like I should have just shrugged and gone home without my order. I understand that things sometimes go wrong, but the recovery matters. I shouldn't have to argue with them or ask "What do we do now" to get them to call their boss. We were really looking forward to tonight's sushi dinner--a special award my kid picked for a job well done. Now the whole experience is tainted, and I'm not sure I will trust the system when placing future orders.

Still rocking it! The salmon combo is amazing. Take a look at the fatty stripes and freshness.

It's only five dollars on Fridays so it was a really good deal to have $10 for two items for lunch. The seating area is nothing fancy. It's quite dirty actually, but you can ask them for table covers and they serve all sorts of seafood. A little disappointed with the grilled fish it was overcooked and dry. The ceviche, however, was excellent. It is part of the five dollar meal. I can see why this place doesn't have better readings, particularly because the service is incredibly slow at picking up your Taco. They don't call out numbers as they bring them ready to be delivered instead they wait for you to bring your ticket to them and they find it, which is quite inefficient. Not sure if I will come back other than for the ceviche.

From the incredible waterfront views to the amazing food and outstanding service, it made for the perfect date night. We started with the clam chowder and crab cakes, which were both fantastic. For our entrées, we had the Linguini Del Mar and the Petite Filet (added a side of peppercorn sauce), and every single bite was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The highlight of the evening, though, was our server, Greg. He made us feel completely at home from the moment we sat down. His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask. It's those thoughtful little touches that truly elevate an experience. As the sun began setting over the marina, Alison Brecht performed live acoustic music that created the most romantic atmosphere. She even took a couple requests, including mine and my girlfriend's favorite songs. Sitting outside by the fire table, enjoying an incredible meal while listening to live music and watching the boats in the harbor, felt like something out of a movie. It was the perfect backdrop for celebrating our anniversary. Sea Level exceeded every expectation we had. Between the outstanding food, exceptional service from Greg, beautiful waterfront views, and Alison Brecht's wonderful performance, this was one of the most memorable date nights we've had. We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

I feel like the cost (with the economy as it is) makes sense. It is expensive, yes, but the freshness and quality of the food is so delightful, it breaks my heart to see the ratings go down because of it. Like many people in the reviews, I grew up with this place in my childhood. I used to come with my family to dine here, and it used to be SOOO busy. Getting seated with our group back then (7+ people) used to be an ordeal, but it was worth it every time. The most recent time I had went was as a party of 4, with my family and my boyfriend. The service was so lovely and sweet, the servers made us feel welcome right away and sat us by the window so we could watch the waves and sunset as we ate. My mom ordered most of the food, so I couldn't tell you the names, but we got lots of crab and a spicy sea stew that was very delightful. It was my boyfriend's first time trying the stew and he said he would come back and bring his family to try just that on its own. There's a parking structure that's attached to the pier, so parking is very easy to find. If you go during the day time, there are other shops and bars open for you to peruse and enjoy, but by the time we had finished eating, most of the other places had closed up shop haha. I definitely recommend trying this place at least once; the food, service, and view make up for the price in my humble opinion. Though, I feel like if you'll make it a semi-regular stop once you find yourself in Redondo.
