    Salmon Tereyaki

Service was very good on Valentines. We arrived at 5:30pm, so it wasn't crowd yet. We were seated immediately. It was very loud as the voices echoed thoughout. The waitress was attentive and took out order with accuracy. I ordered yellowtail sashimi and salmon teriyaki for dinner. The yellowtail was outstanding. Yellowtail was tender and melted in my mouth. The salmon was cut up in steps and was over cooked. A bit dry (IMO). Overall, a nice restaurant to attend.

Delicious, fun, comfortable, affordable and a great sushi house. Service was fast, friendly, and overall excellent. Plenty of indoor seating (none outside) including seating at the sushi bar. They have an awesome catch of the day and sushi specials when you walk in, and today was bluefin! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious sushi, at a good price.

This was our second time here and they executed both times. Service is quick and friendly, and even though it's always pretty busy, the staff handles the flow effortlessly. You can tell there are tons of regulars, the team has such genuine relationships with them, which says a lot about the place. The space is large with two bar areas and plenty of restaurant seating. Plus, the location is clutch, just a short walk from the beach. Now the food... so good. This round we ordered the yellowtail carpaccio with jalapeño, the albacore with crispy onions, the 7th Heaven roll with the sauce on the side, and the salmon carpaccio. Every single dish was delicious and reasonably priced. Absolutely worth coming back again (and again).

Came around 1:00 pm on a Saturday; there were hardly any customers dining in. We were promptly seated and served waters. The waiter helped guide me to gluten free/dairy free options; as well as suggested daily specials. Their spicy rolls are GF/without tempura, which is a huge win for me! You do have to pay 50 cents per gluten free soy sauce, which I did not know prior to getting the bill. However, I was just happy to have the option! Fish was fresh and competitively priced. Staff were super friendly and food was served quickly. Would definitely return!

Moma (I hope I'm spelling that right!) was absolutely amazing. My friend and I came in after church for some sushi, and we were so excited since we had heard great things about this place--and it did not disappoint! Moma took her time with us, walking us through the menu, explaining what items were raw vs. cooked, and even sharing some of her personal favorites. That extra care made the experience so much better, especially for anyone who wants to try new things but may not be sure where to start. The wine was great, the pricing was reasonable, and the location near the Manhattan Beach Pier is perfect--whether it's for a date night, lunch outing, or just a quick bite. Thank you again, Moma, for such a great experience--you were truly wonderful!

Had an early dinner with my family yesterday after one hour of bike riding by the beach. We came in during happy hour where the special rolls were buy one and get one half off. That was great. We had four roll and loved them all. So fresh and delicious. We also ordered the edamame which was a bit spicy and sweet. It was so good that we ordered a second one. The seaweed salad was fresh also and one of the best ones I had in a long time. We also ordered a crispy rice tuna. Really good. Overall a great place to have lunch or dinner while in the area. The ambiance is cozy since it's not a big restaurants. Great customer service also. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

On a nice sunny day, going to Manhattan Beach to walk around the shops, soaking up the beach lifestyle was a good idea. Having lunch at Dash Dashi was a bad idea. The atmosphere and modern decor misled me to sit down and order their Fresh Mixed Sashimi Salad for $19.95 and the mysterious Top Secret roll (a daily chef concoction surprise) for $19.95. Everything came wonderfully presented. Even the first bites were on par with other sushi places....that is, until you hit a fishbone. The damage was done.

This place is super fun and great to have a good meal. The staff is super nice and super fun. The meal was delicious and great. I had the sashimi platter but I would highly recommend the omakase as they will make as much food as you can stomach and it is very reasonable. They made us the fried mini crabs which were delicious and crunchy. The sashimi platter was good with the toro and salmon and albacore. We ordered the pornado which is a play on potato and tornado but I'd like to think they meant sometimes else too... . Overall a great meal with reservations available along with great staff. The parking can be a hassle with the crowdedness of this area.

WOW - Dash Dashi's staff ROCKS - and the food is good, too! Special shoutout to *Nan* for her next-level friendliness and hospitality! AMBIENCE (5/5) We've been here several times, and the awesome service, chic beach vibe, cleanliness, and serendipitously excellent lunch and happy hour specials always make for an enjoyable visit. FOOD (4/5) Located in the heart of Manhattan Beach, Dash Dashi offers lunch specials Mon-Fri 11:30am-3pm, featuring BOGO 50% off on select special rolls, 50% off hot sake/sochu by the glass/cocktails, plus excellent sushi and sashimi, salad, and land & sea lunch sets. The Hand Roll Set (3 hand rolls for $19.95), Sushi Set (6 pieces for $22.95), Sashimi Set A (7 pieces for $25.95), and Sashimi Set B (10 pieces for $33.95) come with miso soup and salad. Getting to order chicken teriyaki with miso soup, salad, and steamed rice ($13.95) and adding mixed tempura for $6 or beef teriyaki for $7 is so nice! Happy hour is Mon-Fri 5-6pm as well as Sat-Sun 3-5 and features BOGO 50% off on select special rolls, 50% off hot sake/sochu by the glass/cocktails, plus special pricing on appetizers, salads, basic rolls, and more. The popular 7th Heaven and OMG-3 rolls were pretty good. Both the sesame chicken and tempura come out deliciously hot and crisp! SERVICE (5/5) Nan and her colleagues are beyond nice and absolutely elevate the dining experience! Nan is insanely friendly and energetic and always makes us feel super welcome.

    Blue Fin Toro Tuna Sashimi

Service is always great here and I have been both for lunch and for dinner. They have a great selection for their specials of the day and have some more unusual items like barnacles and barracuda and blue fin toro that you wouldn't really find at your run of the mill sushi joint. The quality of their fish is quite good and I've never had one questionable item here. Their albacore crispy onion melts in your mouth and when they have it, so does the blue fin tuna. Definite top sushi spot in the South Bay.

Good sushi spot near the beach at Manhattan Beach! I visited this restaurant for takeout near sunset on a Monday and the restaurant was decently busy. My friend and I wanted to have a little beach picnic with the sushi from here so we asked for takeout. They gave us menus and we ordered our food. They then let us sit at one of the tables while we waited for our takeout orders and allowed me to use the restroom. It took about 25 minutes for our orders to be completed and even apologized for the longer wait. The packaging of the orders was decent and they stapled the tops of the bags. We ordered the OMG-3 and The Dashi rolls with White Fish Nuggets. Everything was surprisingly pretty good! The OMG-3 roll was tasty and the salmon was good. Paired with the tangy sauce it was a unique taste combo. The Dashi roll was also good. The shrimp tempura was crunchy and the jalapenos provided a nice heat. There was also a generous portion of masago which I appreciated. Paired with the sweet sauce, it was a good combo of flavors. Lastly, we were surprised with the fish nuggets. The batter was crispy and golden and the fish tasted fresh. The food was overall good, but pricey and smaller portions.

It was prepared table side and was just incredible. Our server Kelly was amazing! Loved her great recommendations, and she constantly checked in with us. Her German/Ecuadorian heritage coincided with an upcoming World Cup match, so having her as our server was extremely fortuitous. The restaurant ambiance is simple yet welcoming along the main road. Parking was a little crowded but we found street parking not far away. I love how they have a waitlist and how food came out really quickly. They have their own special soy sauce recipe! The main issue that I had was that there were a lot of flies in the restaurant. There were a lot of small flies but also the big kind of flies that fly around and that made the meal a little bit unpleasant. Now that we got that out of the way. Shit damn was this place good! We ordered the Don't think just eat trust me. I think it's like 60$ per. Start with cold edamame and I've never had them cold but they were good. Then sliced tuna with some tangy soy sauce that started the meal off with a bang. And I don't mean just any bang like the kind you tell your friends about. Next was a plate with 6 pieces of sashimi and to be honest I know one was salmon which I normally don't like but this was like butter in my mouth. Freaked awesome. The other two also were great. Then a hand rolled crab I think which also hit the spot followed by my sashimi. It was all great except like fish 5 of 6 or 6 of 7 who knows. It looked like mini lobsters on rice. And it wasn't that I didn't like it it was more the texture that I didn't care for. Just too chewy for sushi. There was also some sort of tuna with mint leave under it and some skin on the fish that wasn't my favorite. But over all this place kicks ass. If you live sushi this is a much for sure.
